Chapter 425: Chapter 238: Trouble, the Demon King Forms an Alliance of Justice to Crusade Against the Hero! _2
If it weren’t for Gu Shanhai’s refusal, they all wanted to stuff everything in their item slots into his.
"I’m not sure, but other than the boss template of the Demon King, we might still have to face the Elf King, Dwarf King, Beastman King, and possibly a few giant dragons, but don’t worry about the levels, they can go up to level 100 at most. With my aura buff, we can basically win," Gu Shanhai said bluntly.
"Wow, jackpot!" Upon hearing this, Hualou Chun wasn’t worried at all. Elite, boss, that meant significant loot drops whether chests or something else after defeating them.
Previously when they entered instances, sometimes they couldn’t defeat the boss at all and had to clear the stage through different methods, and thus couldn’t get the kill rewards.
Not to mention that Gu Shanhai was planning to take on even the elites, that’s the correct way to play in instances like a pro.
"Hey, god-player, I have a small question. Can you receive buffs from your own aura?" Hualou Chun came to this realization—if it was possible, then Gu Shanhai’s strength might not be weak after all.
"Yes, but I’m a support. Have you ever seen a support leading the charge?" Gu Shanhai retorted. He felt his place was in the rear, finding one’s role was important.
As for the kind of support that ensured the death of enemies to protect teammates, Gu Shanhai could do that too, but Hualou Chun and Taohua Xiao hadn’t developed that level of friendship with him yet.
If it were Huang Yanshan and the others, there would definitely be no problem.
"..." Hualou Chun was certain now, Gu Shanhai was definitely more capable than them. Otherwise, how could he say such things?
But he also felt relieved, having Gu Shanhai there meant they could at least not worry about crashing out if they lost a game.
Though they were the second generation of players, they weren’t spoiled rich kids. They had been raiding instances with their parents since they were young and knew quite a bit. Unlike before where they fought elites and bosses one by one, this time they would charge in en masse, so even with Gu Shanhai’s aura blessing, they still didn’t have complete confidence in their hearts.
This was their first time seeing such a scene.
...
"Don’t you guys think there’s something wrong with this hero?" The Elf King spoke with a grave expression.
Several phantoms appeared opposite him, all projected by some kind of equipment, including the Beastman King, Dwarf King, and even the giant dragon.
"What’s the problem?" The Dragon King, covered in fiery red scales, was a bit puzzled. Living overseas with a minimal dragon population, it did not have an information-gathering system, and therefore knew nothing of the occurrences in the Holy Kingdom.
Before the Elf King could speak, the Dwarf King quickly said, "The hero himself brought some terrible ability over, which has already turned most of the Holy Kingdom’s populace into a moth-like monster clan from the Demon Clan that kills on sight. If we don’t stop him, we might soon face nearly five hundred thousand of these moth-like monsters."
"???" The Dragon King was baffled. Was this really a hero and not the Demon King next door?
Others who lived in Hero Continent knew more or less about the tumult in the Holy Kingdom. They were indeed not fond of the Holy Kingdom, but they also knew that to defeat the Demon King, they could only rely on heroes summoned by the Holy Kingdom.
The Demon King couldn’t be killed; if slain, he would resurrect. Sealing him would take even shorter time than resurrection, so they had to rely on heroes. As for getting involved themselves, that was even less possible as they were truly no match on their own and faced mortal danger.
Of course, as heroes became more numerous, they harbored a similar thought to the Holy Kingdom: since others were willing to fight the Demon King for them, they must certainly conserve themselves.
But now, a hero scarier than the Demon King had emerged.
Even when the Demon King was at his strongest, he had not obliterated the Holy Kingdom, and now it was imminent.
"The reason I’ve called you all here is to quickly find a solution to this hero," the Elf King stated helplessly.
If it were the Demon King, these representatives of the Holy Domain could band together and kill him; conversely, if they didn’t stop this hero, he could achieve something the Demon King never could: unify the Hero Continent.
They were aware of these moth-like monsters’ capabilities, potentially weak, probably between levels 30 to 50, and they could wipe out a large number with a sweep of their hands, but if there were five hundred thousand, they would be exhausted to death trying to kill them all, even the Demon King Army didn’t have so many.
Okay, even if there weren’t yet five hundred thousand, it was still beyond their capability to handle, combined populations of all different races didn’t total up to that many.
The Holy Dynasty, mainly human, dominated Hero Continent.
But compared to humans, whether elves, dwarves, beastmen, or dragons, they were all long-living species with exceptionally low fertility rates, hence the smaller populations.
The expressions on everyone’s faces were somewhat unpleasant. How were they supposed to deal with this situation, given the overwhelming number of people on the opposing side? All the different races combined only amounted to about 150,000 people.
"Perhaps, I can offer a little help."
Suddenly, a slightly gloomy voice interjected.
At that moment, everyone’s heart skipped a beat.
They all recognized the voice—it was their old foe, who had experienced both death and resurrection: the Demon King.
Somehow, the Demon King had silently entered their meeting.
"You? What help can you offer?" Although the Dragon King was only a projection, he exuded tremendous presence. Among the various races, he was the only one who could confront the Demon King directly, though he also could not defeat him, as the Demon King had his army, and the Dragon Clan was too weak alone.
Therefore, he did not fear the Demon King. Besides, his dragons were overseas; the enemy could not find him.
"I can, at least, we can form a coalition!" the Demon King declared.
The people present were a bit bewildered. Forming a coalition with the Demon King to fight against the hero was something they had never encountered in their many years of living.
"This hero is unlike any we’ve faced before. He’s incredibly powerful. Once he rules over the entire Hero Continent, I will be trapped in a cycle of life and death forever."
"And you might become slaves or monsters."
"As long as this hero is eliminated, I will commit suicide, await my next resurrection, and gather the Converge Demon King Army, waiting for the next hero to arrive and start anew."
"I am not short on time, and I do not fear death. This time, consider it a gesture of goodwill for potential future cooperation."
The Demon King spoke calmly, clearly articulating the stakes involved and even relinquishing his interests to expedite the formation of the coalition.
He was genuinely afraid. The previous heroes, with the cooperation of the Holy Kingdom, had managed to defeat him, killing the heroes or sending them back to their original world.
This hero was different, aiming to rule the world.
Should he succeed, even resurrection would be futile; the hero would kill him each time he resurrected, leaving him no chance to fight back.
Listening to the Demon King’s words, the race kings fell into deep contemplation. They had to admit, with the Demon King’s involvement, their chances of victory would greatly improve.
Once the current hero died, they could summon another.
Not all heroes were as outrageous as this one; most were quite regular.
And they were somewhat tempted; with the Holy Kingdom gone, the task of summoning heroes would surely fall to one of their races. Having a hero could potentially allow them to evolve into another Holy Kingdom.
Even the Dragon Clan, the smallest in population, was tempted.
However, their survival was a prerequisite for all this; otherwise, if the current hero led his monstrous army against them, none of them would survive.
"The Elf Clan has no objections, though the details need to be discussed further," the Elf King stated first.
"The Beastman Clan feels the same."
"The Dwarf Clan... agrees."
"..."
With someone taking the lead, naturally, others followed. Beneath the overarching circumstances, all the races agreed to form a coalition to fight against the hero together.
