Chapter 282: Chapter 167: Uncle Gu Returns to the Jianghu
"Maybe... you blew them up along with everything else," Heavenly Immortal Drunkard finally realized, people had indeed disappeared.
Gu Shanhai’s Azure Dragon Sea Exploration came out of nowhere, no one could react in time. By the time everyone came to their senses, let alone Luo Mansion, even Qingxian Town was gone.
"It shouldn’t be the case, no matter how you look at it, it has something to do with Yu Niang, right? It’s unlikely to be that fragile," Gu Shanhai quipped. He actually had a hunch that Yue Niang might really be gone, remerged by Yu Niang; otherwise, how would she have turned into the Spider Lady?
Bang~
As the two were chatting, White Cloud was smashed aside by Yu Niang, rolled several times before he crawled back up, even the Dragon Soul·Great Mighty Dragon looked somewhat disheveled.
"Your wife got beat up while your daughter watched, and you just don’t care?" Gu Shanhai teased.
"I do, but if even my wife and daughter together with the cows and horses can’t beat this spider, me joining in would be just like seeking death," Heavenly Immortal Drunkard said, spreading his hands. All his professions, talents, and skills revolved around Cow and Horse Summoning Technique. And due to the restrictions caused by his overly powerful innate talent, he could not learn any skills outside summoning.
It was just that Yu Niang was too powerful. The Cow and Horse summons he could produce were already enough to brush the edge of the top-tier players.
The difficulty shouldn’t be this great. It was all altered because Gu Shanhai wiped out the entire Qingxian Town.
Heavenly Immortal Drunkard was a serious player himself; knowing his profession was that of a Summoner, he tried to stay as far away from Gu Shanhai as possible without considering focusing on melee combat.
After all, Summoners focus on their creatures, not to say they’re fragile.
There are plenty of skills within summoning that protect the Summoner’s own life, such as life link, attribute share·constitution, and so on. There even abilities that provide the Summoner with corresponding attributes, recovery, and more, as long as there is a summoning creature present. If the summons are strong enough, the Summoner can be quite durable.
Self-preservation is not a concern at all. As for relying on the power fed back by the summons to be a combatant, that’s a bit laughable.
Without a myriad of summoning skills enhancing the summoning creatures, their attributes might not even reach half of the Summoner; there’s no way they could feed back corresponding attributes, effects. So if one truly wanted to be a combatant, why not change profession? Gu Shanhai himself didn’t even have such high expectations.
It’s only those with talent-based restrictions like Heavenly Immortal Drunkard that would consider this. But generally speaking, if you have a specialized innate talent and still decide to take an offbeat path, that’s just being foolish.
In his past life, Gu Shanhai had seen many such people, a few of whom became big shots, but most died in obscure places. With their strengths unrefined, they foolishly attempted clever tricks. Even Gu Shanhai, a reborn, deity-level player, wouldn’t dare try such stunts. He was always focused on developing strengths and compensating for weaknesses.
The two chatted, watching Yu Niang beating up wooden oxen and horses, and White Cloud getting shattered. With Gu Shanhai’s Mana aura surrounding them, they didn’t worry about getting killed.
A thought crossed Gu Shanhai’s mind; he noticed that the Mana aura was slowly fading, starting from the outskirts of Qingxian Town and continuously eroding away. It felt as if an invisible eraser was gradually wiping pencil marks off a piece of paper, seemingly struggling a bit.
And as this power converged, Yu Niang became increasingly ferocious.
"Oh right, how stable is the aggro from your cows, horses, wife, and daughter? If they lose aggro, I could make a run for it, but can you?" Gu Shanhai quipped.
"It’s pretty stable. Besides, you still have that deer, right? Just let it take over if things go south," Heavenly Immortal Drunkard glanced at Little White. He presumed Gu Shanhai didn’t have much self-preservation ability, with all his skills and talents focused on large-scale auras. Little White was not for combat; it was obviously meant to be a meat shield, with its physique, it would be a waste to not use it as such.
So of course, he didn’t expect much combat efficacy, as long as it protected the two of them who couldn’t directly engage in combat.
"No worries, I think the second loop is about to start," Gu Shanhai felt the encroaching reset, as two-thirds of the entire area had already been rolled back.
In another thirty seconds, all of this would end.
"So soon? Does that mean as long as Yu Niang loses control, it will initiate a second loop within a certain timeframe, and the point of team wipe is here?" Heavenly Immortal Drunkard wasn’t foolish, he caught on in an instant.
They needed to hold out until Yu Niang’s loss of control to reset. Of course, if they didn’t want to solve the puzzle, killing the out-of-control Spider Lady after Yu Niang’s transformation would clear the level, but clearly, they lacked the ability.
Without Gu Shanhai’s aura enhancement, they would have scattered long ago, not capable of confronting Yu Niang. If it were a direct confrontation, they would have already been wiped out.
"Pretty much," Gu Shanhai said slowly as the scene shifted.
The three found themselves back at the entrance of Qingxian Town, exactly where they first entered the game and Heavenly Immortal Drunkard’s summoned wooden oxen and horses were gone.
"Did your summon count reset?" Gu Shanhai asked.
"It reset along with everything else, thank god," Heavenly Immortal Drunkard also let out a sigh of relief. If it hadn’t reset, then that would have greatly disadvantaged summoner players.
