Chapter 172: Chapter 112: Refining Energy Fourth Layer·Azure Dragon
"I have finally succeeded..." Gu Shanhai opened his eyes, a trace of fatigue evident in his expression. Throughout these days, he had hardly had any proper rest, constantly unraveling and melding the professions of Green Knight and Marked Druid, absorbing them as nourishment to extrapolate his "Green Emperor Longevity Scripture" to the fourth layer.
At last, he had succeeded. He referred to the fourth layer as the Azure Dragon.
He got up and stretched his limbs. All the Spirit Plants on his body had now been forged into a unified whole. Even in death or if they were stolen from him, Gu Shanhai had no concerns; he could regenerate them. This was his greatest achievement. Of course, the subsequent energy cycle resonance produced by the Yunling Technique was even stronger.
In other words, Gu Shanhai’s experience gains from idle practice had increased.
"Regrettably, the Divine Arts are completely wasted," Gu Shanhai assessed his own condition, unable to use the Divine Arts anymore. Since he had unraveled his professions, he was no longer considered a Druid nor a Green Knight, which meant the extremely useful one-click interface had been uninstalled.
Luckily, the remaining marks, plants, prophecies, and combat were left intact. The former two were related to the growth methods of Marked Druids and Green Knights, while the latter two pertained to corresponding skills, falling under the category of knowledge. Even without the bolstering of a specific profession, Gu Shanhai could continue to use them.
As for why the fourth layer was called the Azure Dragon, the reason was simple: he had actually created an Azure Dragon.
Didn’t Green Knights have a plant equipment talent that he transformed into plant armament? Thus, he sculpted an Azure Dragon. Currently, this Azure Dragon wound around him, not very big, only about two meters in length.
The main ingredient was... Fierce Generals.
Yes, that’s right, Fierce Generals. These beings weren’t physical to begin with and were derivatives of Spirit Plants. After much consideration, Gu Shanhai found that none of the Spirit Plants on his body were suitable to forge into plant equipment; indeed, he didn’t actually possess any dedicated defensive or offensive Spirit Plants.
Finally, he slapped his thigh in realization. Other than serving as ranged attacks and perhaps enhancing his speed during travel, Fierce Generals had no significant use.
The former could now be covered by the Azure Dragon, and Little White could assume the latter’s task with sufficient speed.
So he casually used the Fierce General as raw material.
How a Tiger Knight could sculpt a two-meter-long dragon was quite simple. Since the Fierce Generals didn’t truly exist, and both General Order and General Worship Platform as Spirit Plants had become a part of Gu Shanhai’s body, he could shape them any way he wanted.
Thus, cultivating the Azure Dragon equated to a simultaneous enhancement of certain powers of the Green Knight. That said, most of the Green Knight’s natural talents and techniques were cultivated through training rather than through plant equipment, although the latter was tantamount to natural marks, with the main benefit being increased equipment strength.
"Wow, you’ve actually created a living plant armament, and it’s a three-in-one combo of armor, weapon, and accessory. If you were born in my era, asking you to become a Green Knight would get you killed by the priest lineage," Amute couldn’t help but marvel at the Azure Dragon, unfamiliar with this wingless dragon. The creation of a living plant armament was shocking enough.
"It was just luck. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to create anything," Gu Shanhai denied the other’s claim. This time it was indeed luck; had it not been for the Green Knight that came his way, he wouldn’t have been able to create it at all.
His Azure Dragon, evolved from a Spirit Plant, wasn’t really plant equipment but resembled a synthetic companion creature created by Gu Shanhai. Don’t ask why it’s synthetic; were it natural, he would have been a prodigy, but even his genius qualities were constructed by his own hand.
The only regret was that while the Azure Dragon indeed embodied the wood element, it lacked the capabilities of a dragon, such as summoning wind and rain, changing in size at will, and other abilities. It was just a mere showpiece, but that was not a concern; Gu Shanhai could cultivate it himself.
Fortunately, this creation inherited powers from both the Fierce General and plant armament, such as soul-devouring, blood-sapping functions. It also possessed growth potential and bodily resilience, especially with growth being threefold.
Whenever either General Order or General Worship Platform Spirit Plants leveled up, the Azure Dragon would also advance, and both slaughter and consumption could enhance its attributes. More importantly, Gu Shanhai could foster its growth through the maintenance of plant equipment.
This meant a level-up would double attributes, and monster farming would increase its stats; the potential for growth was sufficient.
Furthermore, the creature’s Spiritual Intelligence had improved, much higher than it was as a Fierce General, albeit it was still somewhat dimwitted...
Gu Shanhai, however, wasn’t asking for much; after all, he had created it out of nothing. He didn’t have the skills for enlightenment nor spirit awakening, so having this degree of intelligence was already an outstanding performance.
"This is never a matter of luck; it’s what you’ve earned yourself." Amute didn’t believe Gu Shanhai’s dismissals for a second. If it were all down to luck, how come no one else among the many generations of Green Knights had managed to create a living plant armament?
"I’m preparing to head back. I’ve been here for almost over a year; it’s about time for a look back home," Gu Shanhai suddenly stated.
"Yes, it’s indeed about time. In terms of skill as a Green Knight, you’ve nearly caught up with veteran soldiers. Aside from your lack of real combat experience and your mount not being quite up to par, there are no other shortcomings," Amute remarked.
