Chapter 160: Chapter 106: The Marine Spirit Gets Hit by a Boat!!!
"Riding horses, taking boats, but it never said anything about going out to sea though. I thought it was just a small ditch," Gu Shanhai lay on the boat, somewhat helplessly staring at the sky.
On land, it was fine, but once on the water, he realized the scale was off.
"The person who drew this map definitely didn’t consider the size of the paper..." Gu Shanhai couldn’t help but complain. When he followed the map to the end and saw the sea, he was utterly baffled; he thought he had taken the wrong path. Only after repeated comparisons and Prophetic Divination did he confirm,
that there was nothing wrong with himself, the problem was with the treasure map.
Because the land was drawn too large, it caused the upper area to be insufficient, turning what should have been a sea trench into a mere ditch.
As for why it was a small boat, it was because nobody sold him a big one, nor was anyone willing to take him out to sea. It wasn’t because of Gu Shanhai’s mocking face, but mainly because the sea people had never ventured that far out to sea.
This sea wasn’t just full of seafood and goods, but also sea monsters and sea demons, especially given Gu Shanhai’s trash map scale, who knew how far that trench was, so the honest sea people were unwilling to go.
The dishonest sea people, who also doubled as pirates, were willing to go, but Gu Shanhai wasn’t up for it. He could detect their surface thoughts, instantly seeing that their plan was to chop him up after setting out to sea, and after thinking it over, he decided it was best to go by himself.
It was just rowing anyway, so he installed an engine, propeller, and some essential items for sea travel before heading out directly.
Currently steering the boat was Little White; don’t ask why a fawn could drive. Since the boat itself was a transformed tent boat with irregular parts, there shouldn’t be a problem if the driver was a deer. Anyway, Little White seemed quite happy doing it.
Gu Shanhai pondered that maybe later he should teach it how to drive a car, fly a plane, all those modern mounts needed to be learned, but then he glanced at its hooves. His use of assembled parts was fine, just keep an eye on the ship’s helm was enough. Brakes weren’t a worry because Gu Shanhai didn’t install any. Either crash into a sea monster or an island, there was always a way to stop.
"Yo~ Yo!!!"
Little White shouted in a voice that was both horrified and swearing, ignoring the helm and darting back under Gu Shanhai, clearly frightened.
"..." Gu Shanhai got up with a puzzled expression—what on the sea could possibly scare...?
"What the heck, I remember sea horses don’t look like you, right???" Gu Shanhai was also baffled when he saw a black horse with a flowing mane.
"I want to ask, when did you get here?"
Gu Shanhai hesitated and then looked at the sea horse’s mane, which seemed to be balding in one spot. Based on his comparison, it looked kind of like it had been hit by his boat.
"I came when your deer crashed into me..." the black horse spoke human language, with a tone also full of swearing, himself not having expected to be bumped into by a boat in the sea.
"What were you thinking, letting a deer drive your boat? An understandable choice would have been a fairy or a fairy," the black horse felt it might have been too long since he was on land; had it developed so fast that even deer could drive a boat? Perhaps land carriages were now self-propelled, no need for human direction?
"Look at what you’re saying, those fairies and fairies need to be willing too," Gu Shanhai countered. Did he not want a beautiful fairy? Sure, he did, but it wasn’t practical.
"Speaking of which, as a sea horse, you should be from the Kael Faction, given a sea horse’s size should be smaller than you." Gu Shanhai eyed the black horse, which had the upper half resting on the boat, its lower half certainly not horse-shaped.
This creature looked like a horse, but in fact, was a transforming sprite, often appearing as a handsome horse by lakes, seducing or deceiving travelers. Whenever someone approached, it would transform into a young maiden or a black or white horse or a handsome man, trapping the traveler once they mounted, so they could never get off again. Then the Kael Faction would quickly jump into the lake, drowning the unfortunate traveler.
That was its way of protecting its river territory, though it sounded a bit absurd.
"Nope, the Kael Faction are freshwater lake spirits," said the black horse in a teasing tone.
"Oh, the sea version... Heard you eat people?" Gu Shanhai asked curiously.
"Just a bit of meat now and then, anything else you want to say?" the black horse climbed onto Gu Shanhai’s modified tent boat, its lower body humanoid, clearly muscular with a visible six-pack, which left Gu Shanhai speechless, not expecting a fitness fanatic.
Then he looked at the creature’s horse legs, noticing something... It seemed this guy didn’t! train! legs!
"A bit, do you usually skip leg day when you work out?" Gu Shanhai asked.
Unfortunately, the black horse didn’t catch on to the joke, revealing its carnivorous teeth instead, which confirmed it wasn’t vegetarian.
"These are your last words, I guess, I..."
Before the black horse could finish, Gu Shanhai punched him down to the ground, teeth shattered.
"Let go!!!" the black horse cursed out.
"You let go of your face first, my hand’s stuck to it," Gu Shanhai yelled back.
The Kael Faction had sticky skin, so once transformed into a human or horse, anyone who mounted couldn’t come off again because they were stuck. Gu Shanhai landed a punch on it, and Magic Domain stuck to the creature, causing continuous damage.
