I Became the Billionaire's Fake Lover to Get My Revenge -
Chapter 87: Wicked Plan
Chapter 87: Wicked Plan
"Gabriel, you sly bastard," William muttered with a lopsided grin as he unlocked Gabriel’s phone. "Looks like Marienne wasn’t the only one who came prepared for that little stunt."
He tapped a few times on the screen, navigating through a couple of folders before holding the phone up for the others to see.
"This right here—it’s a security overlay I designed myself. It’s disguised as a simple wallpaper app, but when activated, it hides whatever app is running in the background. In Gabriel’s case, it was a voice recorder."
Anna’s eyes widened, a flicker of realization crossing her face as she leaned in. "Wait... you mean he recorded everything that happened in that hotel room?"
"Exactly," William nodded, a spark of admiration creeping into his voice as he scrolled through the file. "Whatever kind of reckless plan that boy thought he was pulling off, at least he had the foresight to cover his back. Let’s find out if it was even worth it."
He tapped the play button, and the room fell into a tense silence as Gabriel’s recording began to play. Every word, every deceitful tone in Marienne’s voice spilled from the speaker—her manipulation, the fake distress, the cleverly placed pauses in her performance.
By the time the audio ended, Anna’s expression had hardened. Her suspicions were no longer just theories—they were confirmed truths. Marienne had tried to frame Gabriel, fabricating a story with disturbing ease and the skill of someone well-practiced in deceit.
Daniel shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting between Anna and William. "So... what now?" he asked, his voice tight with unease. "I’ve done what I could to keep the story from leaking to the press, but if Marienne’s desperate for money—or attention—she’ll stir up a scandal just for leverage. I wouldn’t put it past her."
Anna was quiet for a moment, her gaze locking with William’s. There was a flicker of hesitation in her eyes, as if she were weighing consequences against conviction. Then, with a steady breath, she spoke.
"I think..." she began, her voice calm but resolute, "since we have solid proof of her lies, we could go straight to the authorities and have the case dismissed—just like that. But Marienne didn’t just want money. She wanted attention. She wanted drama. A public spectacle."
Her lips curved into a small, sharp smile. "So maybe... we give her exactly what she asked for."
William raised his bros in surprise, his lips curling into a sly grin. "Sounds like you have a plan brewing inside that head of yours. Let’s hear it then."

"You disappoint me, Mary," Sebastian drawled, his voice low and sharp as he watched Marienne slide into the booth beside him in a dimly lit diner tucked away in some God-forsaken corner of the city.
As usual, he had chosen the most unwelcoming place imaginable for their rendezvous—but Marienne, accustomed to his eccentric preferences, said nothing.
"What the hell was that all about?"
"Ugh," she groaned, dragging her hands through her hair in frustration. "It didn’t go as planned, okay? But don’t worry," she added with a sly grin, her eyes gleaming with mischief, "I’m not after pocket change or a few credit card perks this time. I’m going for real money."
"Ah yes, the sexual assault accusation," Sebastian replied, grinning as he wedged a cigarette between his lips. He lit it with a flick of his silver lighter and took a long drag, exhaling a plume of smoke directly into her face. "What makes you think it’ll work? It’s your word against his. You’re just a woman, and he’s... a millionaire."
"He is a millionaire," Marienne echoed, the smile never leaving her lips. "But he’s young—too young to risk a scandal like this tainting his reputation. He’ll pay to keep it quiet. I’ll ask for something reasonable. If he has any brains, he won’t refuse."
Sebastian scoffed, exhaling another stream of smoke as he leaned back. "Clever, as always. And the drug? You said the police took the glasses for evidence."
"It’s handled," Marienne waved off his concern with a dismissive flick of her fingers. "I smeared a bit on my own glass too—just enough to suggest I was drugged as well. No one will suspect anything."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, his skepticism momentarily piqued. He took a slow sip from a glass of red wine resting beside his ashtray, then set it down with a quiet clink. "Still... the way that boy was acting—it was suspicious. Almost too believable."
"He’s a foreigner," Marienne said with a shrug, her voice oozing confidence. "They’re all too gullible—especially when it comes to women like me."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk tugging at his lips. "Your arrogance never ceases to amaze me, Mary," he said as he rose from the cracked leather booth, gathering his coat with deliberate movements. "But listen... if this little scheme of yours falls through, I may no longer have the luxury of patience. I know we’re friends and all, but friendship, like everything else in life, comes with a price."
He leaned down, his breath warm and sharp against her ear, lips curling into a grin as he whispered, "If you mess this one up too, I—"
"It won’t happen," Marienne snapped, cutting him off. Her eyes narrowed with irritation, gleaming with cold resolve.
"He’s young, cocky, and has no solid ground to stand on yet. If this scandal explodes, his grandmother could strip him of his inheritance—and we both know how fiercely she guards that perfume empire. Besides, people like Chloe Dumas and William Stark? They’ll be desperate to keep this quiet. They’ll protect him. Which means they’ll give me exactly what I want."
She held his gaze, her voice steady and cutting. "I will win this case. And you’ll get your precious money."
Sebastian chuckled, taking one last drag from his cigarette before exhaling a bitter plume of smoke directly into her face. "Very well," he said, his grin laced with mockery. "Good luck, Mary."
With that, he turned and strode out of the diner, leaving behind a thick, acrid cloud that hung in the air like the scent of something rotten.
Marienne sat in silence, her frown deepening. Her heart pounded against her ribs, and her eyes shimmered—but not with fear. Not with remorse. These weren’t tears of regret.
They were tears of triumph.
This time, her wicked plan would not fail.
