I Became My Elf King Character In A Game-Like World
Chapter 50: Moonlight Protection

Chapter 50: Moonlight Protection

Outside the shield, the Dark wolves growled nervously. The sudden appearance of the army that they didn’t expect made them restless. It was their number that made them restless. Even the leader was no exception to that.

It had ruled the southern part of the Forest for many years, but it had never seen so many Elves before.

It guessed there were at least under a thousand of them living and here they were in the tens of thousands..

’How could this be possible? Wasn’t the elf race supposed to be nearly extinct? Where had this massive elf army come from?’

The Dark Wolf Leader bared its ferocious fangs, its fierce eyes glaring at Renjiro. "You Elf’s, this is the territory of my Dark Wolves. You’ve crossed the line! Take your elves and leave, and I’ll let this slide!"

Renjiro smiled and said, "I’ve heard that strong magical beasts can actually speak, and I think now that it’s true."

The Dark Wolf Leader snarled, "Elf, are you challenging the me... the Leader of the Southern part of the Forest... the leader of Dark Wolves?"

Renjiro replied, "I’m not here to challenge you. I’m here to wipe out your wolf clan and take back the unicorns that belong to us!"

With that, he raised his right hand and shouted, "Attack!"

At his command, countless whistling sounds filled the air. A storm of arrows rained down from all directions, forming a thick and terrifying barrage that engulfed hundreds of Dark Wolves.

Puff puff puff puff...

Hundreds of Dark Wolves were trapped under a storm of arrows. In just a moment, many of them were shot full of holes like porcupines. Their loud, pained howls filled the whole area.

A total of fifteen thousand sharp arrows came flying from every direction, creating a deadly rain of arrows. The Dark Wolves in the valley had no place to run or hide.

What made it even worse was how fast the archers could shoot. While the first wave of arrows was still flying, the second and third waves were already on the way.

In less than ten seconds, the pack of Dark Wolves took massive losses. Nearly every wolf had arrows in its body. Many were stabbed straight through, and blood covered the ground.

Some arrows pierced their heads.

Some pierced their eyes.

And some pierced their lungs.

If these magical beasts weren’t so tough skin, the dark wolf clan would already be gone. On the hillside, human mercenaries watching this turned white with fear.

The archers’ power to kill was beyond scary to be honest it was their numbers that were scary. When there were enough of them to form an army, it was like a total disaster.

The mercenaries even thought that, with enough space, this archer army could beat thousands of human knights.

"I can’t believe the Forest has so many Elves!"

"What’s worse is every one of them is a high elf!"

"I heard some rich people from the city paid some Mercenary Group a lot of gold to come to the Forest and catch Elves. Seeing this, if they show up, they’ll die without even knowing how!"

"How are we any better than that Mercenaries group?"

"They want Elves, we want unicorns. If the Elves catch either of us, we’re all dead and meeting the God of Light!"

"No chance now of the Elves and magic wolves wiping each other out. We need to run for our lives."

"You’re right—let’s get the hell out of here fast!"

The group of whispering human mercenaries didn’t see an owl sitting on a tree just a dozen meters away from their location.

Even though they were hidden by a spell, the owl saw everything they did perfectly.

"Roar!!!" The Dark Wolf Leader lifted its head and let out an angry howl. Its clan had lost so many wolves, and it was burning with fury.

It opened its huge, scary mouth and spat out a black energy ball. The ball blew up in the air and turned into tons of black rain falling down.

As one of the strongest magical beasts in the forest, of course the Dark Wolf Leader knew very advanced magic spells.

This magic spell wasn’t its best spell, but it was awesome because it hit a big area. The black rain covered more than a hundred meters.

"Elves, you’re all going to die!" the Dark Wolf Leader shouted.

It was sure these weak elves couldn’t handle its magic attack. When the black rain hit, every elf in its path would melt into blood... including that cocky Elf King!

But then, it saw something odd. Elf King didn’t run. Even the huntresses on black panthers behind him didn’t move.

’Aren’t they scared of dying?’

The Dark Wolf Leader thought. ’Or do they think they’re too strong for my magical attack?’

Right then, the Dark Wolf Leader saw an elf mage next to Renjiro lift her magic staff. A big wave of magic power came from the gem on top of the staff.

The Dark Wolf Leader laughed. "A ninth-Circle mage can’t stop my magic attack. You’re too full of yourselves!"

"Moon Goddess’s Protection!" Elaria held her staff high, her body shining with a strong, pure light.

In a flash, a bright white glow spread from her staff and formed a shield of light, keeping all the Elves around her safe.

After using the spell, Elaria’s face looked a bit pale. As she had used this in a wide area effect... of course it would take a toll on her body just by the sheer magic it would need.

"You okay?" Renjiro asked.

Elaria shook her head. "I’m fine, Your Majesty. It just took a lot of magic power, and I’m not used to using the big spell yet."

Renjiro gently held her soft hand.

"Now it’s my turn!" With a quick thought, he pulled out the artifact dagger and gripped it tight.

Far off, the Dark Wolf Leader stood frozen in shock.

The black rain, with its awful melting power, was totally stopped by the light but it wasn’t shining or anything, it was like a moonlight glow shield.

Even better, the rain got cleaned up and vanished fast, like the shield was made of holy magic.

"How can this be?!" The Dark Wolf Leader couldn’t believe a ninth-Circle mage’s shield spell blocked its one of the strongest magic spell. It didn’t make sense.

Then it saw the Elf King walking toward it—alone!

The Dark Wolf Leader grinned coldly. "Do you not know what fear is... that you are here to die?"

Renjiro swung the divine dagger through the air.

"To beat you, I only need one swing!"

"One swing?"
