Damn!

Lis forcibly suppressed the urge to jump up and pull out his magic wand to bombard, forcing himself to calm down and sit around the bar.

To be honest, he wasn't afraid of the undead.

In the eyes of ordinary people, they may be extremely dangerous extraordinary creatures, but for Lis, they have no deterrent power.

Even a Witch Demon or Death Knight, such high-level undead appear before him, as long as they are not of legendary rank, Lis has no problem dealing with them.

But having this conversation with the shopkeeper named Old Milo, only to suddenly discover the other party is an undead creature, the shock of this disparity left Lis astonished.

Impossible!

Lis suddenly realized a problem.

How could it be, clearly the shopkeeper was no more than a meter away from him, yet he didn't sense any trace of an undead creature's presence.

The old man before him could definitely not be a legendary rank undead, otherwise, such a slip wouldn't have been exposed before Lis.

So, is this the reality behind the illusion covering this small town named Ihelos?

Because of the influence of a legendary rank illusion, is that why he hasn't sensed the presence of the undead?

Lis pondered in his mind, his facial expression unchanged as he looked at the old man before him.

He saw Old Milo nonchalantly bend down to pick up the arm that fell to the ground and press it on the shoulder wound.

After a while, Old Milo let go, flexed his arm again, and said to Lis with a sigh:

"It's really hard not to admit being old, just a little bump and it ends up like this."

The sigh in his voice made it seem like it was an entirely normal thing.

"Old Milo, you're getting on in years; you really should be mindful."

Lis nodded, agreeing.

Does Old Milo realize he's become an undead, is that why he says so?

Or has the illusion altered common sense, making him believe this is just a routine affair, hence his indifference?

Lis tasted the golden liquid in his cup, watching out for the surrounding patrons.

The customers seated around the tables in the tavern hall were noisy, seemingly undisturbed by what happened, and perhaps not seeing what transpired at the bar.

Yet three or four patrons sat beside Lis at the bar, one was even chatting with Old Milo just now, sitting close enough to possibly see what occurred.

Even so, this patron showed no reaction, sipping ale and loudly conversing with adjacent patrons as though debating something.

Judging by their attire, they should be residents of Ihelos City.

So, does this illusion really modify the common sense of everyone in the city?

Have all other Ihelos City residents already transformed into undead, yet they don't realize it at all?

Such a drastic thing?

Lis was somewhat alarmed.

A typical legendary rank undead mage couldn't possibly achieve this!

Furthermore, with this widespread illusion altering common sense, it doesn't seem like something ordinary legendary professionals could accomplish.

Was it done by the Lord City Master of Ihelos?

Lis was not entirely sure, sitting aside watching Old Milo fixing his arm.

Once Old Milo's arm returned to normal, Lis cheerfully remarked:

"Being old, you really ought to be mindful."

"By the way, I heard the Lord City Master will appear to host the ceremony on the night of the Gur Festival, right?"

"Yes."

Old Milo nodded, speaking as if nothing happened:

"Such an important occasion certainly requires the Lord City Master to personally host it."

"I don't even know how to address the Lord City Master."

"Surely, being the City Master of Ihelos, they must be a formidable professional?"

"That is certain!"

Old Milo nodded affirmatively:

"This city is named after the Lord City Master, Lord Ihelos is undoubtedly a strongman, having safeguarded this city for many years."

"I grew up listening to Lord Ihelos's stories, and all these years, because of his presence, no one dared to offend this city."

"The Lord City Master has protected this city for so long, surely he is already a legendary strongman?"

Lis showed a perfectly timed look of amazement.

"That's of course!"

Old Milo declared, tone filled with pride.

"Lord Ihelos is a powerful Legendary Mage, no one dares challenge the city under his protection."

"Ah, a Legendary Mage~"

Lis sighed a bit, raised his glass to clink with Old Milo's.

"To the Lord City Master of Ihelos!"

"To the Lord City Master of Ihelos!"

Old Milo grinned, accompanying Lis to finish the fine wine in hand.

"I'm a mage too; it'd be great to receive guidance from Lord Ihelos."

"I wonder what Lord Ihelos excels at?"

Lis asked Old Milo with a smile, hinting something.

"That would be difficult."

Old Milo shook his head.

"Aside from the Gur Festival celebration, the Lord City Master always stays in the Mage Tower at the city center, rarely coming out."

"Everyone in the city knows this."

"There were people who visited Ihelos hoping to obtain Lord City Master's guidance, but I never heard of anyone succeeding."

"Lis, don't expect that; just enjoy Gur Festival!"

"I see, I understand."

Lis slightly nodded, a perfect trace of regret and disappointment on his face.
