The two chatted as they walked. They didn’t know how long they walked for when the setting sun began to touch the horizon.

Shen Mingke cursed as he and Zheng Minghui emerged from a convenience store that had been stripped of food.

"Why do I keep feeling like something’s watching us?" Zheng Minghui said to Shen Mingke in a low voice, his uneasy gaze scanning their surroundings.

"You’re just being paranoid! Isn’t it good that there are no zombies? Look around. You see any zombies?"

But just as Shen Mingke finished speaking, a zombie, its flesh turned inside out exposing raw bloody tissue, appeared on the street in front of them.

Creak creak creak creak~

The zombie made rhythmic noises from its mouth, which were soon echoed by the same sounds from around them.

"Let’s find somewhere to hide first. Something’s definitely going to happen if we stay here!"

Watching the setting sun sinking fast, Zheng Minghui grew anxious. He had a feeling that whatever creature was making those noises would show up once it was completely dark.

"Then let’s go!"

Shen Mingke responded anxiously, these sounds becoming too terrifying. They had survived in the post-apocalyptic world for many days, but he had never heard a noise so scary!

The two looked around with their weapons at the ready, searching for a place to hide.

"What’s that?"

Just as they hesitated, a rosy-cheeked couple appeared atop the apartment building.

The woman said to them," Hey, you guys better come in quickly!"

"Hurry up, brothers. The Night Demon will be out once it’s dark!"

"Night Demon!!" Zheng Minghui and Shen Mingke exclaimed in unison. This was the first time they’d heard this term. For some reason, their whole body shivered at hearing it.

Looking at the rosy-cheeked couple, they found it strange. Ever since the apocalypse, they hadn’t seen anyone who had such a healthy complexion. This was the apocalypse after all!
