I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 841 - 838 Jiuge Visitor

Chapter 841: Chapter 838 Jiuge Visitor

A few children, with innocent smiles plastered on their faces, shouted loudly as they ran toward their parents. The adults, too, breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing their children unharmed and their perception of Li Henian, the ruler of the United District, improved significantly.

This one doesn’t seem so brutal after all...

A few adults smiled at Tang Ye before leaving with their children. Throughout, Tang Ye’s face maintained the same smile, with Hatred standing by, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

Once the adults had completely disappeared with their children, Hatred suddenly spoke, "I didn’t expect the leader to have this side."

"What did you think I was like in your heart?"

"A devil..."

"Is that all?" Tang Ye raised an eyebrow.

"It seems you still are."

"More or less, I am trying to become someone like you. But now it seems, the leader is not as I had imagined."

"You say..." Tang Ye nodded, paused a bit, then added, "If a zombie has emotions richer than a human’s, can it still be called a zombie?"

Hatred chuckled, his eyes filled with ultimate sarcasm.

He did not answer Tang Ye’s question. Perhaps for him, having a human appearance and human emotions no longer qualified one as a zombie. But there was another implication: Tang Ye’s question was like asking for an answer, but really, it was about whether a person without any emotions could still be called a human.

Tang Ye might be an emotional zombie, but Hatred was a person void of emotions.

The group chatted a bit more and then headed toward the direction of the Central United District. Just as they arrived, two soldiers hurried over to Tang Ye, respectfully saying, "There is a visitor, waiting for you in the conference hall."

"A visitor?" Tang Ye wondered who it could be.

"It’s an envoy from Jiuge."

"Oh?"

Tang Ye made a long sound of acknowledgment, his eyes holding a strange expression, as he exchanged glances with Xu Haishui.

What a coincidence. They had just been discussing Jiuge and now someone from there had come knocking; it was indeed like speaking of Cao Cao and Cao Cao arriving.

"Alright, lead me there. I’m curious to see what kind of game they want to play," Tang Ye said nonchalantly.

"Yes."

The soldier responded and led Tang Ye and his entourage toward the conference hall.

Upon arrival, Tang Ye stood at the doorway and saw three unfamiliar people seated inside waiting for him, two men, and a woman, all of Southeast Asian descent.

The two men were hefty. Though it was nearing autumn, both wore a black tank top underneath leather jackets, the outlines of their muscular chests faintly visible, their strong vital energies indicating they were Level 4 New Humans.

The woman, not being a Chinese descendant, had features that didn’t align with Chinese aesthetic standards. To Tang Ye, she appeared quite ordinary. Her aura was significantly weaker than the others’, identifying her as a Level 3 New Human. Both men stood behind her.

Their positioning made it clear that she was the day’s protagonist, with the two men appearing more like bodyguards responsible for her safety.

"I haven’t seen you before today. My subordinates tell me you’re from Jiuge? Rare guests indeed—though you’ve been causing quite a fuss these past few days," Tang Ye began suspiciously, speaking in a strangely coy manner as he entered.

The woman in the chair turned and frowned slightly, not quite understanding what Tang Ye was getting at, which seemed bizarre to her. However, she soon let it go.

She stood up, wearing a trademark smile, and bowed slightly towards Tang Ye, "You must be the famous Li Henian, President Li, and the leader of the United District." The woman spoke in fluent Chinese, but with a slight accent, possibly because she was a foreigner.

As she spoke, her face showed a hint of surprise, but with a slight furrow in her brow, it was clear this was a forced expression, though it was hard to say for sure, appearing three parts genuine and seven parts fake. After all, in this post-apocalyptic world, age didn’t necessarily correlate with becoming a new human; many leaders of various factions were quite young, often in their twenties or thirties.

"Didn’t expect the leader to be so young, truly a case of precocious talent."

"Is that so? It surprises you?"

Tang Ye sat down across from her, eyeing her askance. The woman’s words were plainly flattery, but whether he accepted them was another matter. For now, the recurrent assaults on his soldiers suggested strongly that Jiuge was responsible.

Listening to Tang Ye’s words, the woman’s brow furrowed again, unsure if it was her imagination, but she felt a certain hostility in his tone. However, upon reflection, she couldn’t recall doing anything to anger Tang Ye or the Peace Party.

But she was no ordinary character; how could a woman sent by Jiuge to negotiate with the Peace Party be just anybody?

Soon, the woman brushed aside Tang Ye’s abnormal tone; any grievances would become clear shortly.

"President Li, let me introduce myself first. My name is Dura."

"Oh, Dura, is it? What brings you Jiuge people here this time?" Tang Ye asked, his expression somewhat disinterested.

Seeing Tang Ye’s reaction, Dura breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Of course, there’s a matter to discuss, but before that, may I sit down, President?"

"Oh?" It seemed that only then did Tang Ye realize that Dura was still standing. He gestured toward the bench behind her, saying, "There there, sit, sit, why all this formality? You were just sitting anyway, really."

"I apologize."

Dura nodded and sat down, then said, "I know you’re busy, so I won’t keep you long. Let’s get straight to the point."

"Right, right, getting to the point is good," Tang Ye said, still distracted as he fiddled with his nails.

But Dura didn’t mind and seriously asked, "The leader must be aware that before you... there was a ceasefire agreement signed with us, right?"

"Of course, I know, how could I not?"

"Hm... Originally, we had already allocated the benefits, but unfortunately, with your esteemed self now acting as the sole dictator of the entire United District, we came to ask about the ceasefire agreement and the distribution of the 709 Mine—are they to proceed as previously agreed?"
