"Holy f*ck, what kind of godforsaken place did you pick? With so many zombies, are you trying to get us killed?" Upon seeing so many zombies, Zheng Minghui immediately cursed Shen Mingke.

"How the hell was I supposed to know? Stop bitching and run!"

Before they could catch their breath, they headed towards the area with fewer zombies. They hadn’t run a few steps when a dull thud echoed from the hole they had crawled out of.

Crack! Boom!

The ground burst open, and a massive zombie emerged, resting on all fours. It had a blue cloth around its neck, probably a uniform from before the Apocalypse. However, after its mutation, the clothing had ripped into shreds!

Its forelimbs were thick, with its hands resembling those of a gorilla. Its fists slammed on the ground with a diameter of ten centimeters! Its hind legs, which had evolved from the original thighs, were even sturdier. Standing upright, it looked like a huge tree stump, with its bulging, dark purple veins tangling together like gnarly roots, looking utterly horrifying.

Merely lying on all fours, it stood two meters tall. If it were to stand upright, it might reach four to five meters. Zheng Minghui’s eyes almost bulged out of their sockets at the sight.

Shen Mingke rolled his eyes, feeling as if his lungs were going to explode. The prolonged running had made his breathing difficult.

Zombies roared from all directions. Lifting their hands, they chased after the two. The looming terror of a giant mutant zombie was close behind! Every step it took created a "rumble" sound. The two ran frantically towards a school building. When they reached the corridor on the first floor, a zombie lunged at them from the side.

"Die, you b*stard!" Zheng Minghui’s face contorted in fury as he swung his weapon at the zombie’s decapitating head mid-flight.

Before it could touch the ground, its head was severed. Zheng Minghui didn’t have time to check what’s happening behind him, but the thunderous footsteps of the mutant zombie echoed loudly, startling the survivors hiding in the building. They peered from the corridors on every floor, horrified to see zombies swarming them.

"What is...what is that?"

"Is that the giant zombie? Has it...evolved again?"

"What the f*ck? How much more can it evolve?"

"Dammit, how are we supposed to survive this? What should we do?"

Countless survivors looked at the mutant zombie in utter despair. As Zheng Minghui and Shen Mingke reached the stairway, they had to stop.

"Jesus Christ! The door’s locked. There must be people inside!" Upon seeing the locked door, Zheng Minghui’s eyes flashed with fury. They had no clue where to go!

"Look over there! Let’s go up!"

"What?" Zheng Minghui looked blankly at the crooked-neck tree Shen Mingke was pointing at.

"Climb? How?"

"Just follow me! Hurry, if you want to live!"

Having no choice, Zheng Minghui could only follow Shen Mingke up the crooked-neck tree. They leapt onto the flower bed on the first floor, and Shen Mingke quickly climbed up and headed towards the trunk, ultimately making it to the second-floor corridor. But by the time Zheng Minghui managed to climb onto the tree trunk, exhausted, Shen Mingke was already up in the corridor.

"Help...help me!"

"Give me your hand!" Shen Mingke extended a hand and yelled.

Biting down on his teeth, Zheng Minghui lunged forward and grabbed Shen Mingke’s extended hand. Shen Mingke pulled him over with all his might.

"Phew... thank you. I’m beat!" Zheng Minghui gratefully said to Shen Mingke.

But as soon as he said that, the locked metal doors below sounded. The mutant zombie began trying to break down the door as soon as it saw them heading upstairs.

"Forget it, let’s go!" Shen Mingke yelled, realizing that the door couldn’t stand the blows of the mutant zombie.

Without wasting a moment, he quickly moved ahead. But Zheng Minghui called him back, "Wait, take a detour, let’s go"

Zheng Minghui led him into a classroom, opened a window to check downstairs, found there were only a few zombies and said, "Down here, let’s get out this way!"

"Go!"

Boom!

The giant mutant zombie raised its nearly bucket-sized fist, and just as Shen Mingke predicted, it took only two hits to knock down the iron doors. The furniture blocking the door fell and scattered around. The behemoth charged first, directly rushing in.

Student survivors thronged the fourth and fifth floor hallways. They stared in stunned silence at the horrifying scene, Instantly falling into chaos.

"Ahh! Zombies are coming in! We’re going to die!"

"What do we do, what do we do, the zombies are coming in!"

Before the Apocalypse, they were all cared-for and well-provided-for children. But after the Apocalypse, they were trampled upon and exploited by the powerful. Up until that point, they had been suppressed for too long. Now that everyone was dying, they wanted their past tormentors to pay.

Several survivors who didn’t know where to go started jumping down the floors, desperately hoping for a sliver of chance to survive. But could a person survive a fall with broken limbs?

The swarm of zombies reached the survivors, who were livid and resentful. They hadn’t yet been able to do what they had planned!

The zombie was unscathed, while the survivor was dead beyond hope. The zombie swallowed her corpse whole and then turned to a dazed figure squatting among the bushes.

It was none other than Chen Chaoyang, who had just fled from the girls’ dormitory. He took one look at the mammoth creature, fear in his eyes, and darted back towards the dormitory entrance!
