Chapter 431: Chapter 428 Pacifist_1

"Nice to meet you, my name is Su Sigui."

"Su Sigui? That’s an unusual name, was it your original name?"

"Yes."

Tang Ye found her name a bit odd. Su Sigui... Su returns to where?

Faced with Tang Ye’s question, Su Sigui was silent for a while, then responded affirmatively. Only she knew that her name wasn’t originally that, or more accurately, her pre-Su Sigui self had been crushed under the wheels of a train.

"Why do you think that zombie is a Zombie King?" Tang Ye asked again. Compared to other things, he was most curious about Su Sigui referring to herself as the Zombie King.

"The strongest is the king."

"What if he’s not the strongest?"

"If not now, he will be eventually. More people will come to call him that."

Su Sigui seemed to be there to specifically answer Tang Ye’s questions, answering each of his queries in turn.

After a while, Tang Ye realized that he hadn’t introduced himself yet.

"Well, my name is... Li Henian."

"Hmm."

With a soft hum, she seemed to already know his name, not showing any surprise.

Tang Ye couldn’t figure out what she wanted to do. He could only wait quietly, growing increasingly wary in the process. This woman was just radiating killing intent earlier, yet now she was acting like the girl next door, all her murderous aura concealed. It seemed anyone could easily approach and mess with her.

Faced with such a character, Tang Ye had to be cautious. God knows if she concealed all her killing intent towards him or if it just hadn’t shown yet. If she suddenly attacked him off-guard, he might not die, but without being sure he could restrain her, Tang Ye couldn’t afford to let his guard down.

"Li Henian, what do you want to do most in the future?"

Suddenly, Su Sigui was asking Tang Ye about his future dreams like she would a child. It left him momentarily confused.

"What do I want to do most?"

Glancing at Su Sigui’s profile, Tang Ye truly couldn’t think of what he should do going forwards, nor what he could do. After the apocalypse turned him into a zombie, he had been merely passing the time in a daze.

Every time he had an opportunity to evolve, he found some purpose. But after achieving that purpose, he would be filled with emptiness once more.

Before the apocalypse, he desired too many things because they were useful to him - for instance, money. Now, he could easily get whatever he wanted, except it was now useless to him, and there was no need to get it anymore.

What was it that he most wanted to do again, besides evolve? Just continue like this?

As these thoughts filled his mind, Tang Ye looked at her again, unsure of how to respond.

Now that they were both zombies, what could they do? Weren’t they no better than dogs, running everywhere to escape? Besides evolving, it didn’t seem like there was anything else they could do. Or was he supposed to help others fulfill their wishes?

"Wait, wishes?"

Tang Ye suddenly recalled a critical point. A voice came to mind again, instinctively glancing at the pink elastic band on his wrist. Su Sigui noticed his movement and looked at it too.

"A girl’s?"

The pink fluffy elastic band didn’t seem like something a man would wear on his wrist. It was evidently used by girls to tie up their hair, and considering Tang Ye’s short hair couldn’t be tied up, it raised some eyebrows.

Various thoughts swirled in Tang Ye’s mind, and his eyes lit up as if he had found something. He was about to say, "I wish humans and zombies could coexist peacefully," but changed his mind, deciding to give a more righteous response, "There’s nothing in particular that I want to do, but I’m a pacifist. I wish for world peace."

"Peace, what kind of peace do you envisage?"

"Of course, peace between humans and zombies."

"Do you think that’s possible?"

"Why wouldn’t it be possible?"

"Tell me." Su Sigui tilted her head back and flicked away the cigarette butt.

"Actually it’s not difficult, zombies are very easy to control..."

Su Sigui opened her mouth as if to say something, but didn’t. She already knew what Tang Ye was going to say next.

"As you probably know, the hierarchy among zombies is strict. Higher-ranking zombies can make lower-ranking zombies do their bidding. Compared to humans, all zombies’ thoughts can become one, and it’s easier to control one individual. To achieve this, an entity needs to bring all zombies together. Maybe, that’s the Zombie King you speak of."

"Hmm, that’s a valid point. But haven’t you considered this – there might be more than one Zombie King. One Zombie King is manageable, but what if two, three, or even more appear? Who can guarantee that all Zombie Kings will have the same philosophy? That they’ll adopt your peace plan? How would peace as you describe it come about?" Su Sigui countered. However, Tang Ye wasn’t bothered. Instead, when Su Sigui mentioned the existence of other Zombie Kings, a flash of bloodlust flickered in his eyes. Coincidentally, Su Sigui noticed it.

She just chuckled lightly, not paying it much mind.

"If there are other Zombie Kings, why can’t we kill them? Just leave one behind."

"Hmm, right. But... which Zombie King do you think we should leave behind?"

"Obviously..."

Just as Tang Ye was on the verge of blurting out the answer, he caught himself, looking at Su Sigui with a new level of wariness in his mind.

"Damn old woman trying to set me up!"

After a moment’s thought, Tang Ye skillfully changed the subject, ignoring Su Sigui’s look, "In your mind, how strong is the Zombie King?"

"Rare, and powerful."

Su Sigui replied without hesitation, though she didn’t elaborate on how powerful. The future battle between Level 9 Zombie Kings was beyond imagination, almost god-like in intensity.

Her battle with the Zombie King had already destroyed this place, so what more a future Level 9 Zombie King?

Once a Level 9 being truly applied itself, it could do more than merely cause a nuclear explosion. Given enough time, both a Level 9 New Human and a Level 9 Zombie King could tear apart a continental plate!

"I see. If the Zombie King is that powerful, how could you and I decide which Zombie King should remain?"

"That’s your problem, since you’re the pacifist."

The word ’pacifist’ hung heavily in Su Sigui’s words. Tang Ye rubbed his nose, spit out the betel nut along with the cigarette butt, and asserted, "Hey, betel nut mixed with cigarettes, that’s some real power, it’s invigorating!"

"Boring."

"I’m a pacifist, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get it done."

"You can’t do it!"

"Why?"

"Even if all zombies are truly controlled by a single Zombie King and maintain the peace you speak of, humans would not agree."
