Chapter 408: Chapter 405: Don’t Regret it_1
Tang Ye’s maneuver scared all the new humans. The ordinary people didn’t know, but they sure did. Among such overwhelming aura, they felt like ants scurrying under a giant’s feet. One random step from the giant could crush them all into bits.
Ordinary people might not feel anything, but they felt it crystal clear.
What kind of aura was it?
How immensely powerful was it?
At what level could one possess such a boundlessly tremendous vitality?
The new humans dared not to imagine, lest knowing Tang Ye’s real level would scare them witless!
Meanwhile, the new humans in Shiwuguan were full of fervor. They had never imagined that their leader was so strong!
At this moment, Tang Ye was like a giant standing in a vast sea of confusion, guiding them toward the right path, giving them courage they couldn’t have. He was their god!
In their eyes, Tang Ye even became more mysterious.
With a cold glance at the thousand survivors, Tang Ye signaled Huang Quanjiu by his side.
Huang Quanjiu nodded and retreated. In no time, countless Shiwuguan Base survivors armed with assault rifles swarmed from both sides.
Seeing what was going on, the crowd became restless. Immediately they began to run, but before they could get far, a figure emerged from the end of the street, completely wrapped in a black trench coat and mask.
This person was none other than Xu Haishui!
As the shadowy figures drew closer, the survivors were taken aback by what they saw. These figures were not people - they were zombies!
Xu Haishui had blocked their path with a horde of zombies! There were over a hundred evolved zombies, six of them were Level 3. The number of Level 1 and Level 2 zombies was countless!
The sole Level 3 new human in the crowd of survivors paused, halting his escape. The others followed suit, turning their attention to Tang Ye on the wall, munching away.
The air fell silent. It seemed Tang Ye had satiated his hunger; he put down his chopsticks and wiped his mouth with a napkin beside him. His gaze fell on the crowd again, his eyes flashing with a deep, crimson bloodlust.
"Run? Where will you run to? Today, none of you will leave this place!"
The moment these words were spoken, a shiver of fear flashed through all their eyes as they looked in disbelief at the Shiwuguan Base survivors who had surrounded them.
The Level 3 new human faced Tang Ye, his face gloomy but his eyes devoid of the desperation of someone who had no escape.
"What do you want?"
Tang Ye sneered and responded, "What do I want? This world doesn’t work the way where you can just slap someone and walk away without consequences. You’ve caused so much trouble, don’t you think it’s time to pay the price?"
The Level 3 new human said nothing, unsure of what Tang Ye meant by his statement.
Tang Ye, however, had no intention of playing dumb. He continued, "You guys are from the Crown City Federation. Heh... What a high-end name, Federation. Do you think that because this is the Apocalypse, no one can touch you?"
"Today, you only have two choices. The first, join us and become a sword in my hand. The second..."
Tang Ye paused, his gaze filled with mockery. After a moment, he spat out the word.
"Die!"
After the last word was spoken, the sole Level 3 new human grimaced with rage but said nothing; his eyes fixed on Tang Ye. The rest of the people, however, immediately broke into an uproar.
"How can this be?"
"I won’t choose. Who the hell do you think you are?"
"Exactly, just because you got some people under your thumb doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want!"
"You’re full of yourself! Just because you’re a new human, you think you’re so great!"
"..."
Some people were furious, but many more were eager, drooling at the sight of the cabbages inside.
Tang Ye dismissed this, laughing in his heart. It seemed like these higher-evolved beings lived outside the understanding of ordinary people. Listening to their clamor, he found these ordinary people utterly foolish.
Don’t forget, this is the Apocalypse. Sure, there’s safety in numbers. It’s also true that you can’t murder every one of these thousand odd people.
But when you evolve to a higher level, you focus on the most critical matters. Right now, this is the time of the Apocalypse!
True, this may be the first time someone’s tried to kill thousands of people at once. But Tang Ye dared to do it. In his eyes and the eyes of other high-level new humans, there were only two types of things: useful or not useful.
Those that are useful are spared. Those that aren’t, or those who are but will not obey his commands, are eliminated!
After all, this is the Apocalypse; there’s no law to speak of.
Or perhaps the idea of killing a thousand people at once sounds shocking, but what then? Before the Apocalypse, it could have induced societal upheaval. But in the Apocalyptic world, that’s a joke.
Never mind if the law can’t control it, how many people would even know it happened?
"Alright, shut up, all of you. Now, choose a representative to negotiate with me."
Tang Ye’s eyes were filled with mockery. Upon hearing his words, many survivors instinctively looked to the sole Level 3 new human amongst them. However, many didn’t react, and some looked toward other new humans.
Watching this unfold, Tang Ye quietly discarded the plan he just made in his heart.
It seemed like there were more Level 3 new humans in the Crown City Federation who had not shown themselves.
If that was the case, he might as well be straightforward.
"Submit! Or die!"
Xu Haishui roared huskily. The zombie horde behind him growled in unison, emitting a nauseating stench that left countless people ashen-faced.
"Made up your mind? Inside, you’ll find the food of your dreams, otherwise... hehe, await death!"
Tang Ye threw in one last comment, causing many survivors’ resolve to waver. They had no particular loyalty to the Crown City Federation, their only concern being their individual benefits.
Just like the saying goes, don’t talk to me about ideals. My only ideal is money!
Now, there’s a force that offers what they need and demands that they make a choice. How could they not waver?
Many began to hesitate, the choices in their hearts laid bare in their eyes. Some were afraid of the consequences, and did not move.
"What are you waiting for? This is an opportunity. Once it’s gone, don’t regret it!"
Regret?
Many people caught the keyword in Tang Ye’s words. Biting their teeth, several hands went up.
"I will! I want to join you!"
"I will too!"
"I will!"
