I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 388 - 385 We are Zombies_1

Chapter 388: Chapter 385 We are Zombies_1

Tang Ye didn’t have time to deliberate on such a situation anymore; he could only laugh, laughing at Changjue’s ignorance. How could a zombie possibly die from having its heart pierced?

Meanwhile, Tang Ye had learned Changjue’s weakness. It seemed that Changjue was as vulnerable to a pierced heart as a human, and that he believed that humanoid entities like himself would die too if their hearts were pierced.

"Give it to me!" Changjue commanded again.

But Tang Ye’s laugh was broken, as if choking him, sounding harsh and grating. His laughter lingered in the air as Changjue’s gaze grew icy, his face twisting as his eyes flickered to Ah Fu, pushing himself up from the ground. Changjue furrowed his brows in confusion.

"What is going on here, what exactly are you?"

Changjue clearly didn’t know about the zombies born from the apocalypse, looking at Tang Ye with confusion.

Tang Ye grinned, tilting his head, deep in thought. This man named Changjue was too strong, his Level 5 zombie strength was inadequate to defeat him. However, there was one crucial point - Changjue didn’t know the state of the outside world and he was not a zombie, just a non-human entity.

Precisely because of this, Tang Ye’s brain whirred, contemplating his approach. After a moment, laughter bubbled up from within Tang Ye, a wild sort of laughter, with his pale eyes fixated on Changjue.

They locked eyes. Just as Tang Ye was about to speak, Yinxiang, who had been watching silently from the sidelines, interrupted. Her voice was as cold as ever.

"Changjue..."

At the sound of her voice, Changjue broke eye contact with Tang Ye, his eyes softening. A flicker of sentiment crossed his eyes, as he turned and walked to Yinxiang’s side.

"What is it?"

"Stop toying with him, be quick, I just can’t wait anymore." Yinxiang said, her cool gaze glancing dismissively at Tang Ye.

"I see, I will restore you." Changjue promised.

In Yinxiang’s presence, Changjue’s voice was tender, he spread his arms and embraced the beautiful woman before him.

"Thank you~" Yinxiang replied softly.

Seeing her like this, warmth surged within Changjue, causing him to hold Yinxiang tighter, before lifting her chin and leaning in to kiss her.

Ah Fu, watching from a distance, tried to force himself to fight, but was held back by Tang Ye. He was taken aback as he looked at the perfect couple - they were so perfect!

His eyes flashed with a hint of madness as his heart swelled with destructive anger!

They were too perfect - the man, handsome as a god and the woman, as beautiful as a nymph, a truly golden couple!

What an exceptionally suited couple.

Their perfection made Tang Ye want to tear them apart, to watch them despair in the face of each other’s pain!

Tang Ye despised such perfection; his life had never contained such a thing. His existence was full of brokenness, with all ideas of perfection merely residing in his dreams.

In Tang Ye’s vision, the scene of Changjue kissing Yinxiang was the epitome of perfection.

He hated this beauty, hated others’ perfection, especially the ones that survived at his expense. He didn’t want any of that - he just wanted to shatter it, to make them despair!

However, there was another meaning that Tang Ye discerned from their conversation. Yinxiang asked Changjue not to waste time talking with him. What did that mean?

He didn’t believe that Yinxiang called Changjue back just to let him live longer - quite the contrary!

Tang Ye began to replay the conversation between him and Changjue but couldn’t understand their intentions. What exactly were Changjue and Yinxiang up to? Were they interested in the pink rubber band that Ning Yu’er had given to him?

Or were they simply after his life?

None of these seemed plausible. Zombies might be difficult to kill, but they weren’t immortal. Changjue had not released his full strength from the start. If he did, Tang Ye believed he would be instantly annihilated.

Changjue’s power presumably ranged from Level 6 to Level 7. Tang Ye was unable to estimate his ability more accurately. All he knew was that they were behaving very oddly. Above all, why were they interested in the rubber band that Ning Yu’er gave to him?

Changjue and Yinxiang shared a lingering kiss, lasting for almost four or five minutes. They reluctantly parted, and Changjue walked towards Tang Ye, while Yinxiang remained in her original spot, quietly caressing her jade pipa.

"Alright, no more unnecessary talk. Are you giving it or not?"

"Give? How do you propose I give it to you?"

After parting from Yinxiang, Changjue’s demeanor completely changed. He was no longer the unassuming man; he was a formidable presence, his eyes now glowed a haunting red, like blood rubies. His ominous aura was palpable and left Tang Ye with no choice but to calm himself down. This Changjue was terrifying, and Tang Ye had no confidence in defeating him.

If Changjue hadn’t suppressed his aura before, Tang Ye wouldn’t have been able to fathom his true strength. But now, it felt like a human being facing a prehistoric tyrannosaurus!

Could he possibly win?

Tang Ye pondered the subtext of Changjue’s words. Changjue could have forcefully taken what he wanted. Why did he ask for Tang Ye’s consent? This was suspicious!

Is it because he needed Tang Ye to willingly give it to him while sacrificing his life willingly?

Such an idea seemed preposterous. Why would they want that?

Tang Ye quickly dismissed this impractical idea. He decided to stick to the plan that he had initially come up with.

"Hehe hahaha..."

Tang Ye laughed, a mysterious grin stretching across his face before he asked coldly, "Aren’t you curious about what we are?"

At his words, confusion spread over Changjue’s face. Seeing this, Tang Ye chuckled in his mind, he knew his bait had been taken!

"What exactly are you?" After a moment, Changjue finally asked, but his gaze drifted to Ah Fu in the distance, who had fully recovered. He furrowed his brows again.

"How is it possible for you to have undead bodies?"

"Undead bodies?"

Tang Ye was taken aback, then laughed again, the sound more grating than before.

"You don’t know what’s going on outside, do you?" Tang Ye said with insensitivity, his words carrying with them a sense of certainty while also probing whether Changjue was aware of the outside situation.

Changjue simply shook his head, without feigning knowledge. At this, Tang Ye laughed again, standing straight up, his body taut.

"We are zombies!"

"Zombies? What’s that?" Changjue was completely perplexed, he had no idea what zombies were.

"You don’t know what a zombie is?"

"I don’t!"

"Then, who are you?"

"We’ve always been here, but we are no longer humans. What exact beings we have become, we don’t know. When we woke up, Yinxiang and I found ourselves here."

Tang Ye furrowed his brows. If they were not aware of their own identities, not being zombies or humans, could they be... hybrids?

However, don’t misunderstand, "hybrid" here doesn’t refer to the Thai kind... it has a different connotation... at least it sounds like it...
