Chapter 36: Chapter 36 How to Wear a Trench Coat to Look Good_1

Screech, scratching.

The irritating sounds of moving objects kept Tang Ye from sleeping, annoyingly forcing him to turn over in his bedding. Unable to bear it anymore, he opened his eyes and saw Ning Yu’er moving a bed next to his, right up against the window where he was lying.

"Hehe... uh... I..." Ning Yu’er awkwardly smiled at Tang Ye’s confused expression. She would never tell Tang Ye that she was afraid to sleep alone.

Tang Ye thought that the noise would stop after this, but as soon as he shut his eyes, the sounds started again. He gave up on trying to sleep, sat up, and quietly watched Ning Yu’er struggle to move the other beds.

After she arranged four beds together, sweating profusely, to form a large bed, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and told Tang Ye, "Little Mister, you can sleep here, the pillows are here. One bed isn’t enough for you to sleep!"

Tang Ye was moved by her effort. Although not tired, he lay down comfortably due to habit. Seeing her put a pillow in front of him, Tang Ye changed his position and let out a satisfied sigh as he finally sprawled out with plenty of space.

Just as he was about to close his eyes, to his surprise, he saw Ning Yu’er squeeze in next to him.

Tang Ye looked weirdly at Ning Yu’er, as if asking her: What are you doing? It isn’t appropriate for men and women to share a bed, is it?

"Uh... Little Mister, uh... it’s a waste for...one person to sleep on such a big bed... So...I’ll keep you... you won’t chase me out, right? I...I’m scared!" Ning Yu’er shyly said, her cheeks flushed like ripe apples.

She gave Tang Ye an awkward smile, then turned her back to him and fell asleep.

That night, Tang Ye couldn’t fall asleep due to the pleasant scent enveloping him from Ning Yu’er. The sight of her fair, flushed neck stirred intense feelings of possession and bloodlust in him. Revealing his sharp, fang-like teeth, he slowly moved closer to her but hesitated and stopped as if he thought of something.

The next morning, Ning Yu’er woke up, startling Tang Ye awake.

"Little Mister, you’re awake too, hehe." Ning Yu’er said, her cheeks bright red. It was her first time sharing a bed with someone and she was still a little uncomfortable.

Ignoring her, Tang Ye got out of bed and left the room. Ning Yu’er rolled her eyes at him but then grew anxious as he seemed to be heading in the wrong direction.

"Little Mister, why are you going out again?" Ning Yu’er looked at him, visibly distressed.

Tang Ye glanced back at her and pointed towards the dormitory gate. Ning Yu’er didn’t understand what he was trying to convey.

Tang Ye, seeing her confusion, was too lazy to explain. He could have written it out, but he was too embarrassed to display his poor handwriting in front of her.

Watching as Tang Ye left the room and closed the door behind him, Ning Yu’er sat dejectedly on a stone bench.

"Come back soon, Little Mister..."

Tang Ye, now outside, looked around at the few scattered zombies. He looked at his hands, a new idea sparking in his eyes.

"Need candles? I’ll get them for you!"

Whoosh!

Tang Ye’s feet moved like a motor, carrying him several meters in an instant. He was like a black shadow darting out of the school gate.

"Fuck, what the hell was that?! F*ck!"

As Tang Ye left the school gate, a boy who had turned into a zombie was in a classroom nearby, looking through binoculars at him.

"What did you see?" Another adolescent boy asked from behind him.

"I just saw a zombie running incredibly fast!"

"An evolved zombie?"

"Probably!"

"Damn it, we already have one big problem, and now this?"

"How much food do we have left? Let’s try to ration and avoid going out. That fast zombie has left the school grounds."

"At most two days’ worth if we scrimp!"

"Throw that fatso down to the zombies, he’s definitely the one who ate the most!" The boy with the binoculars suggested coldly.

"Okay!" The other boy agreed, his eyes equally cold.

A few minutes later, a fat figure fell from the fifth floor and into the horde of zombies, screaming out in terror before being buried under zombies like a mountain.

Tang Ye carried a box of candles out of a shop and then entered a clothes shop to change into a new outfit, underwear included. However, to his dismay, he was too tall and muscular. The clothing size he chose was barely able to cover all his skin, even the clothes he was previously wearing had several tears.

Overall, besides his calves being a bit too exposed, everything else was fine. He also grabbed several boxes of instant noodles and two large bottles of drinking water before rushing back to Honglin High School Female Dormitory.

During his fast sprint, the wind blew his hair into a middle part, mimicking a certain popstar’s style. After a few minutes, Tang Ye entered the school gate and immediately noticed a pool of fresh blood, recent from its looks.

Tang Ye looked towards the teaching building with confusion.

Did someone fall? Are there other survivors in this building?

Tang Ye shook his head and stared straightforward, heading back to the dormitory. As he saw the badly mutilated body, he knew it must have been a fall from a high place. Suicide? Tang Ye didn’t believe it. Giving up on life is not an easy decision for anyone.

It wasn’t suicide; someone must have pushed that person. Could the people above really be good people? Maybe they were, but even if they were, Tang Ye didn’t feel like interfering.

As he arrived at the dormitory, Tang Ye opened the door to see Ning Yu’er waiting quietly for him on a stone bench. He walked towards her.

Ning Yu’er sighed with relief, glad to see Tang Ye return so quickly.

"Little Mister, you’ve changed your clothes. They look really nice." Ning Yu’er said.

Tang Ye looked at his outfit and nodded in agreement. He was wearing a grey windbreaker with a red long sleeve shirt underneath and large black trousers. The tags were still on his clothes. Ning Yu’er knew instantly that Tang Ye had taken them from a shop without paying, a thought that made her giggle.

Her laughter was beautiful, with adorable dimples appearing on her cheeks. Tang Ye was dumbstruck. Seeing his stunned expression, Ning Yu’er reached out to remove the tags from his windbreaker.

"There we go, Little Mister, you didn’t remove the tags!"

She spoke softly, then stood up to adjust his collar. Due to their height difference, Ning Yu’er had to make a bit of an effort.

"The windbreaker looks better worn this way!"

She patted Tang Ye’s chest and looked up at his face, smiling.
