But what use was submersion? Most of Zhiyang Lake was illuminated by floodlights, making its enormous body highly conspicuous. While it could evade the quantum cannons underwater, the aerial bombs from the helicopters continued to explode precisely on its body.

The Level 5 evolved creature possessed an intellect comparable to a five or six-year-old child and seemed to understand that the illuminated area was not good for it. It tried to swim towards the darker areas.

But how could the previously scattered electric grids just serve one function? Every time it swam towards them, it would mysteriously circle in place. After a moment of hesitation, it would turn back.

While not as exaggerated as zombies, on a microscopic level, new flesh continued to grow in the injured area.

Such self-healing was quicker than the damage the bugs, the size of sesame seeds, could inflict.
