Tang Ye understood her intentions, but his face, hidden beneath the mask, remained expressionless.

Unmoved, he stood in place, but Xu Haishui next to him hesitated and involuntarily took a step back. Ah Fu, being of low intelligence, was oblivious to the situation. However, he was a smart zombie. Despite his warped mind, he saw what Su Sigui’s eyes were expressing.

Slaughtering, blood, hatred, cold-bloodedness, betrayal, and responsibility!

Xu Haishui, with memories of various people in his mind, was hardly affected by others’ gazes. However, her gaze scared him a little.

Tang Ye didn’t notice his abnormal behavior. He extended his hand, gave a thumbs-up to the young girl as if praising her, but then, he turned his thumb downwards. The meaning was blatantly clear.

In response to Tang Ye’s action, she didn’t react. Her gaze remained fixed on him, as if she wanted to read him thoroughly. Tang Ye, however, didn’t have the time or interest to challenge her. He raised both his hands and grabbed Xu Haishui and Ah Fu. His wings extended out from his back and he flew into the sky, leaving the place.

Seeing Tang Ye’s departure, Su Sigui’s left arm drooped, and she released the grip on her knife handle. Her eyes were icy, revealing no emotion.

She desperately wanted to battle Tang Ye then and there, but circumstances didn’t allow it. Firstly, the distance between them was great, and there was nothing she could do if Tang Ye didn’t want to fight. Secondly, she saw the two zombies standing beside Tang Ye.

She didn’t recognize Xu Haishui, but Ah Fu left a profound impression on her. The 50-meter-tall, 6-meter-thick zombie wall of Cloud Gorge Base was breached by his great halberd!

Based on sheer strength, he was already nearing Level 9. If she were to have a battle with Tang Ye, disregarding her chances of winning, the other two zombies definitely wouldn’t stand by.

Moreover, Tang Ye could now fly, which left her even more helpless.

Fortunately, she at least knew that the future Zombie King was in Lin City. This meant that her previous efforts were not in vain! She only hoped that the future unfolds similarly to her past life.

"A Level 5 New Human...I initially thought that I evolved quickly enough. I didn’t expect to experience personally the saying that there is always someone better," Tang Ye sneered coldly, but he was also worried. Being a zombie, he had certain understanding on zombie evolution. Although he hadn’t seen a Level 5 one, generally speaking, the overall power of zombies was definitely stronger than that of humans!

Proportionately, for every Level 2 New Human, there would be twelve or thirteen Level 2 zombies!

Zombies were in large quantities, and their evolution didn’t need luck like humans. All zombies needed to do, was eat. The more they ate, the more they evolved!

The way of life and competition of zombies is simple- it amounts to who is proficient at getting food!

Yet, Tang Ye hadn’t seen a Level 4 New Human, but directly encountered a Level 5 New Human. This annoyed him somewhat.

If a Level 5 New Human had already appeared, it wouldn’t be surprising if a Level 6 New Human existed in some corner of the world. No matter how powerful Tang Ye became, his world could only extend that far. Without a divine perspective, he could never know how many beings stronger than him existed in the world.

People emerged as dawn broke with renewed energy. They opened the gate and observed the surroundings of the gathering place. Finding that the zombies had truly distanced themselves, they went back to mobilize manpower.

Soon, over fifty fully armed survivors left the gathering place and headed west. In that direction supposedly existed other survivor groups!

They were going with an intention to invade and seize resources necessary for survival!

Tang Ye remained as always, standing on top of the tallest building, showing no interest or reaction to the situation below. Survival resources only mattered to the people under him.

He had come here only to foster the development of this place. As for helping them, that’s impossible. The right to survive had to be fought for by themselves.

As a boss, he could only provide some conveniences for them and deter those with ill-intentions!

After his group left, they returned only on the third day at noon, with over ten men fewer. All who returned were in a sorry state. Hu Gui and Xu Changchi, who led the group, had blood on their faces. The blood had coagulated into scabs, masking their faces.

Observing the situation, Tang Ye’s eyebrows creased. He hummed coldly, clearly indicating their sorry state showed that they had been attacked.

And they had been caught off guard!

"What happened?"

Tang Ye asked, his voice was cold and full of disappointment. It would be strange if he wasn’t disappointed in his subordinates’ incompetence.

Exchanging a glance, Xu Changchi stepped forward with a wry smile and began, "Boss, I was careless this time. I never thought they would have..."

He stopped mid-sentence, unable to meet Tang Ye’s gaze.

"What do they have?" Tang Ye demanded.

"They have weapons better than ours, including rocket launchers and grenades..."

Xu Changchi briefly recounted their experiences over the last three days.

Apparently, they held a cavalier attitude towards the survivor group located in the west, not considering it a threat. All was well when they discovered two men from the other camp in a furniture shop. They seized the two men without realising there was a third man.

After forcing information from the two men, they learnt that the survivor group was located in a primary school and comprised over four hundred people.

Without giving it any more thought, they tied up the two men, left them in a small room, and set off for the school keenham.

The problem was the third man who wasn’t captured.
