"Fire!"

The sergeant shouted, and the helicopter swiftly flew towards the sky, while the six gun emplacements on the ground had already adjusted their guns, and the soldiers were stuffing cannonballs the size of water buckets into them.

In the center of the bulge, a fiery flame began to glow. Just in that moment, the water bag burst, and water began to spread in all directions. Tang Ye’s eyes turned cold as he looked at the soldiers with a murderous intent.

It seemed that the most dangerous creature was the one armed with weapons!

He prostrated his body on a rock, his nails dug into the inside of the rock to prevent himself from being washed away by the water surge.

The gushing water soon drowned Tang Ye. The soldiers in the distance were far enough not to be drowned, but they were all soaked and shivering from the chill.

Underwater, Tang Ye felt a warmth enveloping his body, followed by a burning heat. It wasn’t his body temperature, but the water temperature – it had been boiled!

Looking at the soldiers in the distance, they had started to hop around, being scalded by the boiling water.

The water flooded the shoreline, and after it returned to the lake, Tang Ye looked at Zhiyang Lake again, but saw nothing. They had dropped thermobaric bombs into the lake to force the dragon out, but this seemed not to have had any effect.

"Useless?" Hong Zaiyi snarled, pulling his leg out of the water.

"Use all of them! Blast that monster out!"

"Yes, sir!"

The sergeant responded, preparing to instruct the soldiers to continue. But just then, Zhiyang Lake, which hadn’t settled yet, suddenly began to bubble again!

The bubbles multiplied over time, attracting the attention of both Hong Zaiyi, the sergeant, and Tang Ye.

"What’s this?"

Narrowing his eyes, Tang Ye unconsciously stepped back a bit. He could feel a huge force emanating from within the lake!

The minute Hong Zaiyi saw the water bubbles rising from the lake, his face lit up with joy. He shouted, "We did it! Everyone get ready, draw it over here!"

The soldiers stood their ground, watching as the center of the lake began to swirl, forming a gigantic whirlpool. The remaining five helicopters flew to a higher altitude, circling the center of the lake.

"Here it comes!"

Tang Ye’s face was filled with excitement. He had always wanted to see a dragon, and now, if given the chance, he wanted to slay one!

Roar!

A loud roar echoed, and the lake exploded. A huge figure, massive enough to block the sky and the sun, emerged from the water.

Tang Ye was taken aback. Is this a dragon?

He didn’t see its head, but only its massive body, covered with dense scales. He couldn’t tell how long it was, but its width was at least two meters!

His heart pounded, and Tang Ye instinctively felt a hint of fear, but more than that, he felt excitement!

This was definitely an evolved creature, and it had a high rank too!

Thinking of this, Tang Ye’s eyes filled with greed. His eyes were already full of ill intent towards those soldiers.

In front of personal gain, Tang Ye didn’t care whose efforts had gone into it. As long as these soldiers killed the dragon, he would kill them and claim the evolved creature for himself!

The huge dragon revealed its body, letting out a roar and charging towards the armed helicopters in the sky. Its massive mouth bellowed roars incessantly, desperate to bring down the helicopters circling above it.

The robust body was trailing scales and flesh, revealing bloody wounds. It was evident that the dragon had been gravely injured by the previous thermobaric bombs.

The massive body rolled in the water, and every tiny movement shook the entire Zhiyang Lake. It kept twisting its head, but no matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t reach the armed helicopters hovering above.

Occasionally, Tang Ye caught sight of its true face, which indeed resembled the dragons depicted in Chinese legends.

It was hornless, yet it had the head of a deer and the mouth of a horse. Its large eyes swirled round like those described in ancient books. Its mane dance in the wind as the creature moved, originally this evolved creature was quite beautiful, but with the addition of those fleshy tendrils, its beauty was greatly diminished. Instead of emanating majesty, it only added a sense of disgust!

The five helicopters coordinated with each other, drawing the dragon’s attention and trying their best to lead it towards Hong Zaiyi’s direction.

Tang Ye got up, crouching with his legs slightly bent, his eyes narrowed, flashing with an icy murderous intent.

"Fire!"

A few soldiers adjusted the muzzle of the anti-aircraft gun. Everyone was tense as they concentrated their firepower on a single location. This was in itself an extremely irrational choice. If the monster came towards them and their reactions were slightly slow, none of them would have the chance to escape!

With the last thermobaric bomb in place, a fierce flame burst from the muzzle. Four shells whistled through the air and slammed hard into the dragon’s body!

The fire burst into the sky, roasting the dragon’s body and burning all the surrounding air!

The dragon obviously felt uncomfortable, roaring with rage, and dove back into the water. As it submerged, the burning fire flares were extinguished, but the power of the thermobaric bomb was not to be underestimated. You could see pieces of flesh falling off the dragon, scales scattering everywhere, and bright red blood staining the lake surface a harsh, gaudy red.

Just when everyone thought the dragon was escaping, unexpectedly, a huge tail lifted out of the water, swinging horizontally across the sky.

The air whistled crisply, and along with a loud thud, one of the helicopters was swatted into fragments in an instant!

The tail swept across like a wave, the massive head peered out from the water again, along with a burly body stretching out a long twenty meters!

Glaring at the remaining helicopters in the sky, Tang Ye saw a blazing fury in its eyes and knew the creature had been thoroughly provoked.

Hong Zaiyi and his men also recognized that they had enraged the monster. Unlike other times when it would hide in the water if it couldn’t win, this time it had not!

He took a step forward but accidentally stepped into a puddle. The blistering heat made Hong Zaiyi pull his foot out in a hurry.

After dropping a few thermobaric bombs in the water, the current Zhiyang Lake was comparable to a pot of boiling water.
