Although there were level 3 zombies, swallowing their Evolution Crystals didn’t result in much enhancement either. As a result, Tang Ye abandoned this idea and decided to implement a ’fattening’ plan, hoping to beef up the zombies in the City Centre before slaughtering them.

The young man reflexively swallowed upon seeing the heap of food strewn on the ground by Tang Ye. A glint of green lit up in his eyes.

Tang Ye’s husky voice startled the man, who then gave an awkward laugh. He quickly moved to pick up the snacks, bundling them up in his clothes. A few, however, stealthily made their way to his pockets. He then signaled some people behind him to come over and carry away the food.

Slowly recovering from his initial surprise, the young man subconsciously probed for life energy within Tang Ye. His brows furrowed a second later, he looked at Tang Ye strangely, but didn’t say anything.

In his heart, he had already dismissed the most plausible explanation-his levels of vitality, it couldn’t be a zombie. If they were zombies, Li Qingtian next to him would’ve been bitten long ago!

Reassessing Li Qingtian’s vibrancy again, the young man, previously filled with lustful thoughts, abruptly changed his expression.

The boundary of the settlement was wide open. Part of a wall had been forcibly breached, and beyond it, a road led to another area. There were massive building groups surrounding the survivor camp on the left, right, and rear. This provided an excellent cover against any zombies that might try to infiltrate from other directions.

Dust swirled around the ground, driven by the breeze, and garbage was scattered around uncared for. Feeble survivors, their faces sallow and bodies emaciated, were lying in the shadow of a nearby building.

Their eyes were void of hope; they had lost their will to live in this apocalypse. Living for the sake of surviving another day, their eyes were numb and staring blankly in one direction.

However, these people were only alive because they were incapacitated in some way or the other. They couldn’t fight or scavenger useful resources for the survivor camp.

Thus, the boss of the camp didn’t bother providing for these folks. If they were of no use, they’re better off left to their own demise. If they died, they would just become another corpse, which other survivors might need.

Ignoring these people, Tang Ye scanned the surroundings, planning to find someone who could lead him to the camp leader in exchange for a reward.

On the other hand, Li Qingtian’s face was pale. The new clothes she had just put on were getting soaked from the blood that seeped from the wound on her back. The friction between the cloth and the wound made her gasp in pain from time to time.

These weren’t the primary cause of her discomfort; the internal injury inflicted by Tang Ye was what caused the bitter look on her face.

Although she appeared alright on the surface, only she knew her true condition - she was injured all over, with even simple movements proving difficult.

Tang Ye had previously warned her that she must leave his sight within half an hour else face death.

However, given her state, how was she supposed to avoid the bloodthirsty zombies outside? Even an ordinary person could easily defeat her.

Once she encountered any reckless survivor, she would just become a puppet in their hands.

Tang Ye nodded without a word. Comforted by his agreement, Li Qingtian made her retreat, trying to be as calm as possible.

But just as she was moving away, seemingly to make her life more difficult, a group of healthier, weapon-bearing survivors locked their gaze on her. Especially upon seeing a beauty like her, their eyes lit up.

They were ordinary people, unable to sense the intimidating vitality levels of the new humans. The determinant of strength was merely the body size.

To them, Li Qingtian appeared to be a weak woman, incapable of fending off a chicken.
