Chapter 164: Chapter 162 Setting Out with a Bang_1

Two tentacles were suspending Tang Ye’s entire body, making him look as though he was flying. His face was terrifying, filled with a chilling coldness, like a final boss in a film, his powerful aura frightening everyone!

The soldiers started showing fear, but one quickly collected himself and fired another shot at Tang Ye.

Seeing this, Tang Ye quickly released his tentacles and dropped back to the ground, once again evading the projectiles!

Suddenly feeling the rush of air beside him, Tang Ye tilted his head just in time to dodge a white spear grazing his face, only to have it sweeping towards him again!

With a murderous glint in his eyes, as bright as the moon in a clear sky, Tang Ye bent his trailing tentacle at the last possible moment to block the sweeping spear. Following swiftly, he launched a side-kick sending a petite figure flying off!

"Cough, cough!"

Wen Yixian sunk her spear into the ground and knelt down, avoiding an overly disgraceful appearance. She looked at Tang Ye in shock!

The strength Tang Ye had just showcased convinced her that he was not a level 2 zombie but a level 3!

Panicked, Wen Yixian had no time to think. She spat out a mouthful of blood. Luckily, as a Level 2 New Human, she had several times the vitality of a Level 1 New Human. Otherwise, Tang Ye’s kick might have been fatal!

Tang Ye steadied himself and turned to look at the pale-faced Wen Yixian. A bloodthirsty smile spread across his face. Without a word, he lunged at her only to be hit by a missile. The massive impact sent him flying!

Tang Ye tumbled in the air but managed to land on his feet. His smile was gone, replaced by an emotionless face, his heart seething in anger! He then burst into hysterical laughter!

His maniacal laughter sent shivers down the spines of the soldiers.

Wen Yixian looked at the soldier who had hit Tang Ye with the missile, giving him a thumbs-up as if to say, "Well done!"

Seeing this, the soldier smiled modestly. But his grin quickly faded as he caught sight of Tang Ye’s sinister white eyes from afar!

Roar!

With a battle cry, Tang Ye charged like a bull towards the soldier. However, halfway through, he stumbled and fell, giving the soldier a sigh of relief!

Tang Ye quickly got back up and realized that he was severely injured and was carelessly wasting the zombie energy inside his body.

Having been a zombie for so long, Tang Ye knew very well how vital this energy was!

Energy is the life force of a zombie. As long as there’s energy and the head is intact, a zombie will not die!

The energy fuels every part of the body. Each movement consumes energy, whether more or less. Without energy, the body will lose control. He can’t feel pain or fatigue, even if he loses half of his body!

His sudden fall was due to a lack of energy which led him to trip and fall. A shortage of energy can cause a zombie’s skin to peel off and impede its walking ability. Those zombies that stagger down the street are those with a serious lack of energy, needing food to replenish it!

On the contrary, those walking smoothly are the well-fed zombies who have a certain chance of evolution!

The decayed flesh on his right side had recovered 30%, but his arm hadn’t grown back yet, which greatly reduced Tang Ye’s combat abilities, posing a significant threat!

Tang Ye’s figure zigzagged, weaving in and out of the experimental machinery. Wen Yixian clenched her fists tightly and, aided by two soldiers, made her way into the crowd!

Stubbornly shaking off the soldiers’ support, she tossed her long spear to one of the soldiers and hoisted the Model 1013 rocket launcher herself. Once she loaded the ammunition, she aimed the launcher towards the data analysis display screen on the side, seeking Tang Ye’s outline.

Tang Ye was too fast, despite being almost depleted of energy.

Unable to locate Tang Ye after a while, Wen Yixian gritted her teeth and randomly pressed the launch button, firing a rocket.

Boom!

A burst of red light erupted, but it didn’t hit Tang Ye. Instead, it blasted a hole in the wall at the end of the hallway!

Seeing the hole, Tang Ye’s face lit up. He quickly darted through it! The experimental workshop where they had fought earlier was now a complete mess. Now he found himself in a pristine laboratory!

This workshop appeared to be a storage area for some sort of potion. Rows of enormous glass vessels lined the white walls, each approximately one meter tall, filled with a blue liquid.

There were only three glass vessels filled with the blue potion; the others were empty. Looking at the liquid, Tang Ye felt a sense of familiarity, as it resembled the evolution potion Yan Zhaofeng had given him.

Ignoring the approaching footsteps outside for the time being, Tang Ye moved towards the glass vessel filled with blue liquid. To test whether it was the evolution potion, Tang Ye effortlessly created an opening using one of his tentacles.

As the blue liquid gushed out, Tang Ye took a deep sniff, his eyes widened with excitement. He opened his mouth and sealed the opening, drinking heartily!

A surge of energy exploded within his body, causing Tang Ye to let out a contented groan. Even though he wanted to enjoy it longer, the approaching soldiers didn’t give him the luxury of time. He knew he had to leave now!

Drinking with his mouth wasn’t fast enough, so Tang Ye inserted all his tentacles into the three giant glass vessels, voraciously sucking up the potion. The liquid inside began to drop rapidly!
