Chapter 1551 - 1545: The Madness of Tentacles

Chapter 1551: Chapter 1545: The Madness of Tentacles

As soon as the words left his lips, Xu Haishui’s body had already swollen to its limit. His skin and flesh could no longer contain the infinitely expanding organs inside. At last, in the very moment his voice fell, that massive body ruptured. From Xu Haishui’s stomach erupted all sorts of sticky, unidentifiable liquids, a sight so nauseating it churned the breath of anyone watching. In the air, a repulsive stench began spreading, impossible to describe and unbearable to endure!

How to put it... the smell was like if you’d had a bowl of triple-flavored stew in the morning, combusted it within your stomach, and then unloaded it after a long day; only now, the stench here, suffocating the atmosphere, was far worse than even that analogy.

Even Tang Ye, a zombie himself, wasn’t immune to the assault — his undead face twisted involuntarily as he inhaled the foul vapors!

As the sticky black liquids exploded outwards, Tang Ye faintly caught sight of countless writhing tentacles tangled together like a dense, monstrous mass. Upon closer inspection, the intricate patterns running along their surfaces resembled the markings on snake scales — an illusion that vanished with too much scrutiny.

They twisted and convulsed, spilling out from Xu Haishui’s stomach in rolling coils. These elongated bodies squirmed and stretched, spreading out as their tips lifted and turned toward Tang Ye. Within moments, each tentacle began splitting open, blossoming like a grotesque flower to reveal rows upon rows of razor-sharp spikes spiraling like vortices inside!

Roar! Awooo!

A sound like a hurricane ripping through the air emanated from the mouths of the tentacles’ tips, their turbulence stirring the atmosphere into a wild gale surging in all directions. Dust left behind by collapsed buildings and the black ashes seeping from the bodies of the dead were swept upward in massive clouds, obscuring the entire Xi River City.

"You think this is enough to take me down?"

Tang Ye sneered coldly, followed by a low growl from his throat. The black mist surrounding his body swirled like a living entity, lifting him gradually into the air. Meanwhile, the countless tentacles emerging from Xu Haishui’s stomach aimed their florid mouths squarely at Tang Ye.

The next instant, shrill, piercing screams erupted from the tentacles, their terrifying cacophony rippling through the air in visible waves.

Soon, their blossomed mouths opened to their absolute limits, revealing exposed muscle and pulsating flesh creeping forward. Hidden within them, inner jaws extended outward, adorned with fearsome, needle-like spikes so menacing they sent shivers down anyone’s spine!

The tentacles would alternately raise their heads high before drooping down low. From their inner mouths, black liquid gushed forth, further poisoning the air with its stench, intensifying the nausea suffusing the surroundings.

As Tang Ye’s body ascended roughly fifty meters off the ground, a unified roar surged from the tentacles as though from a den of snakes tangled in ravenous hunger. Together, they locked their sights on the same prey — prey their empty stomachs had long yearned to devour.

Tang Ye clenched his fists sharply, and the black mist shielding him thickened instantaneously, enveloping his form entirely.

"Go!"

A single command left his lips, and the shroud of black mist around him coalesced at breakneck speed, transforming into innumerable beams of black light. In a flash, the sky behind Tang Ye was consumed.

As the sounds of rushing wind roared like an earthly tempest, the snake-like tentacle tips began writhing in response, their bulbous bodies stirring with dread motion. At that moment, Tang Ye’s hand swept across, propelling the clustering black beams in a torrential downpour against the swarm of tentacles!

In an instant! The battlefield erupted with the sounds of shattering glass in unison — "Crack! Crash!" — a symphony of destruction rang out endlessly!

As the storm of black light collided with the tentacles, sparks ignited furiously amid the dark haze, illuminating the mayhem momentarily. Tentacle armor crumbled under the assault, their surfaces becoming riddled with holes and gouges. Several tentacles snapped entirely, their tips hurtling down from the sky and landing lifelessly on the rubble below, never again to rise.

Some black beams pierced through the tentacles’ defenses, shredding the flesh within. Others failed their assault outright, dissipating into black mist that lingered and deteriorated the environment further.

Realizing the futility of contesting these black beams, a few tentacles began retreating from the battlefield. Still growling incessantly, thick, black liquid dripped from their flower-like mouths. Where the liquid landed, it spread rapidly, white smoke weaving tendrils from its surface.

The tentacles shimmered with uncertainty, without eyes to survey their surroundings or reason to grasp their place. Yet, their tips unwaveringly turned toward Tang Ye. With a vicious roar, their bodies recoiled backward sharply before launching forward in an unstoppable rush toward their target!

Tang Ye wasn’t about to submit. Raising his arm, he balled his fist and slammed it directly into the leading tentacle tip!

Bang!

A deafening thud exploded in midair as Tang Ye’s fist struck home, obliterating the front tip of the tentacle in an instantaneous burst. Yet, within a split second, two other tentacles had snaked behind him, their lurid mouths creeping ever closer!

Tang Ye pivoted decisively, wrapping both arms around one tentacle while casting a sharp, fleeting glance at the other. Without hesitation, his body arched backward, pressing his feet against the tentacle he ensnared. Suspended upside-down midair, Tang Ye prepared his counterattack.

Abandoning the caught tentacle abruptly, he dropped onto the one beneath, lifting his palm sharply. A swirl of black mist surged upward from his palm, coalescing swiftly into a thick beam of annihilation. With merciless resolve, Tang Ye drove his hand downward, hammering the tentacle’s head with unyielding force!

Bang!

Another explosive thud reverberated as the tentacle’s head splattered violently, cascading debris through the chaos. At the same moment, the tentacle Tang Ye had embraced suddenly shuddered to life. Its petal-shaped mouth quivered grotesquely before lunging downward, aiming squarely for Tang Ye!

Tang Ye leapt instantly, swinging his arm outward. In his grip formed another black mist tentacle, whipping forward like a spear of shadow!

Bang!

With another resounding strike, yet another tentacle was severed upon impact, its mangled form collapsing lifelessly onto the ground below!

Crash!

Tang Ye landed solid on his feet, locking his gaze forward. From within the haze of carnage, two more tentacles emerged, lunging hungrily toward him. Instead of evading, Tang Ye charged directly, matching their aggression with accelerated ferocity. His hands moved, summoning the swirling black mist to his command. Waves of black light beams transformed into tentacles of their own, joining the fray against the monstrous appendages!

On the battlefield, light and shadow collided relentlessly as tentacles sliced through the upper skies, casting enormous shadows that streaked across the ground like fleeting nightmares. Madness consumed everything — black dust mingled with fog so thick it hid the heavens above. Tang Ye plunged into the tumultuous veil, his black mist saturating the chaos ever more.
