I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 1514 - 1509 Crazy Woman
Chapter 1514: Chapter 1509 Crazy Woman
Although he only half understood what the second wanderer said, Tang Ye still nodded his head as if to reply to the man. As he was about to descend the stairs to leave, the man called out to him.
"I have something for you that you’ll find useful."
Having said that, Wanderer No. 2 ducked into a room that had been half blown open by a shell. After a burst of rummaging sounds, he reemerged with an additional object in his hand.
Upon closer inspection by Tang Ye, it was a flashlight. He revealed a smile as a gesture of appreciation. Although he didn’t have a use for the item given by the stranger, he accepted the kindness. He patted himself down and, intending to reciprocate, pulled out the remaining sausages.
"This is all I have left... as a token of gratitude. I hope you understand these words."
The second wanderer looked at the sausage, his eyes involuntarily revealing a hint of yearning before he quickly restrained himself. He hastily waved his hands at Tang Ye. Although not fully comprehending Tang Ye’s words, he grasped the general idea. He pushed his hands forward in a brushing motion, shook his head, and said, "Oh no, buddy, I didn’t give you the flashlight for a return favor, please don’t think of me that way, you wouldn’t know the food scarcity here just arriving..."
Before he could finish speaking, Tang Ye stuffed the sausage into his hand. The sudden action caught him off guard, and before he could clearly see Tang Ye’s movements, the sausage had already appeared in his hand.
"Goodbye? I’ll be back later."
Without waiting for a response, Tang Ye jumped down from the second floor, landing quickly. The man, having no time to ponder over the sausage, leaned over hurriedly and said to Tang Ye, "My God, is this Chinese kung fu?"
Tang Ye did not answer, but gave a mysterious smile. It was as if before the Apocalypse, foreigners had the misconception that all Chinese people knew kung fu; let this misunderstanding continue then.
Watching Tang Ye leave, the man once again cautioned him, "Buddy, be careful, stay away from anyone with a gun!"
Tang Ye did not understand his words. Firearms from before the Apocalypse would pose no threat to him, unless it was a weapon from 10 years after the Apocalypse, which still would barely scratch a Level 9 zombie.
After leaving the second wanderer’s sight, Tang Ye hastened his pace. Beyond the scents he had already marked, there were thirteen lifeforms detectable by smell, all residing people or animals in this city. As to which were humans and which were animals, Tang Ye was unsure. He was now heading toward the closest one, where at least five human scents conglomerated, possibly indicating a group sticking together.
The highest concentration of lifeform scents was in the southwest of the city, not far from those five scents mentioned earlier, another group probably, totaling seven lifeform scents. These two groups seemed to be survivor teams here. Given an hour, Tang Ye could question all members of these two survivor teams; he refused to believe that among these twelve people, none would speak Chinese!
Perhaps the next person he questioned would speak Chinese. Tang Ye was not in a hurry, but it must be said that whoever he was looking for next definitely had a uniquely pungent smell, as if they had lived in a trash heap since birth.
Tang Ye moved swiftly, and in less than half a minute, he found the person. Unexpectedly, the individual was not hiding inside a building but was wandering the streets.
At first, Tang Ye thought this person was like the two armed robbers he had previously encountered. Only upon drawing closer did he realize the person was empty-handed, hair in disarray, face covered in grime; it was hard to tell if the person was naturally dark-skinned or just caked in filth from not bathing.
The figure was gaunt, nearly skin and bones and appeared to be a woman, judging by their stature, wearing tight pants... wrong!
Upon his approach, Tang Ye initially thought the individual was wearing pants, but as he got nearer, he realized they were only wearing a ragged top, nothing else; their private parts were exposed, with deep red welts visible on the thighs, likely from lashes, and their arms covered in bruises.
Tang Ye followed just ten meters behind her, preparing to speak to draw her attention when she let out a "hehehe" laugh first—a silly sound, like that from a severe patient in a psychiatric hospital.
"Hey."
With a slight frown, Tang Ye still spoke up. The woman, hearing his voice, turned around with a dazed and goofy smile. Indeed, it was a woman—her vacuous smile dripping with saliva, stretching into long threads as it hit the ground.
"Gayaya... Hahaha!"
She uttered strange syllables at Tang Ye, then suddenly started dancing before him. This scene caused Tang Ye to feel a sinking sensation; alright, she was not sane, but a madwoman, and it seemed her identity as a woman had led to some unpleasant experiences.
"Sorry to disturb you!"
Without another word, Tang Ye turned to leave, heading towards the survivor team of five people not far away.
"Gayaya... hehehe."
The crazy woman behind him emitted weird laughter and danced off into the distance.
Approximately two minutes must have passed by now. Tang Ye checked the time on his phone—it was 16:51. Under normal circumstances, the sun should still be high in the western sky at this time. Remembering the time, if he couldn’t find any clues by 17:49, he would have to return and observe the second wanderer overnight to ascertain if this so-called Kimberlite City had any clear regulations.
On the desolate foreign city streets, Tang Ye’s voice gradually disappeared into the deep darkness. Through his observation, he had not detected any human figures or graffiti, which were considerably cleaner than Xi River city. As he walked, he made a point to pay attention to the surrounding environment, staying alert to the chance of suddenly entering a different space.
However, it appeared that Kimberlite City, apart from having suffered from war, was not much different from the real world before the Apocalypse.
Soon, Tang Ye arrived in front of a residential building from where scents of five lifeforms emerged, wafting from the fourth floor. However, it seemed one person had come down and was nearby?
