I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 1424 - 1419: Frenzied Arc
Chapter 1424: Chapter 1419: Frenzied Arc
The perpetual celestial body to the west, now obscured by towering mountains, has borne this moment countless times over. Day after day, without pause, occasional winds rise, stirring up grains of sand. Its radiance, somewhat dimmed by obstruction, no longer so blinding, but even so, the ceaseless light blocks out the sky above, leaving no star in sight.
Golden afterglows spread across the horizon, reflecting upon the white sands below. Yet the scene fails to impart a sense of beauty or tranquility, only boundless solitude. This civilization, nurtured under its watch for millions of years, is inching toward its downfall.
A gust of wind, from nowhere in particular, kicks up some dust from the ground, swirling into the air. The sun, half-hidden, recklessly emits its dying rays of the day. The long shadows of two figures stretch out. Gloved hands caress the weathered remnants around them, crumbling like sandcastles made by a child’s whim, turning to powder and blending into the white desert at the slightest touch from the outside world.
The air carries an indescribable scent, making breathing feel obstructed, as if the mouth is coated with a strange substance, prompting an urge to rinse with water.
One of the elongated shadows suddenly stops; the handsome youth raises his staff, pointing towards a spot. There, he spots a fleeting golden arc of electricity.
"It seems we’ve found it."
The golden arc appears abruptly but vanishes just as swiftly. Yet, in the distance, a golden glow can be faintly seen, surrounded by proliferating golden arcs, with vast quantities of dust particles being lifted, twirling around the fleeting electricity.
The other figure, nearly a kilometer away from the youth, removes his mask, revealing a face more frightening and hideous than that of the Zombie King.
They have discovered the glow, but it has also spotted them. The surrounding starts to crackle and pop. In view, the glow seems to magnify – it’s approaching! The sounds, like lightning splitting trees, seem like its furious roars, emitting the essence of ultimate annihilation!
White sand whooshes toward the sky, blotting out the sun. Under the sunset’s residual light, the colors of that glow seem to merge with the sun itself!
A violent storm is born beneath its movement, carrying golden arcs, twisting into a massive tornado. Ground sands become animated, swept up by the wind, entering the vortex and covering the sky in white, presenting a scene of the Apocalypse!
"Buddy, I just wanted to talk."
The youth shows no sign of fear against the storm. Even with a terrifying sandstorm stirred by fierce winds, not a grain of sand settles on his clothes; they remain as pristine as ever, with only his coat and blonde curls fluttering in the wind.
However, the entity appears uninterested in his sentiment. The golden glow keeps thrusting out golden arcs, the crackling growing louder! A series of robust arcs seem to connect heaven and earth, an overwhelming aura of destruction surging forward!
Seeing this, the youth glances at his clothes, parts of which begin to turn into white sand particles, frowning, finding the golden arcs troublesome but not a threat to himself.
He calmly lifts his staff, then smashes it into the white sandy ground, uttering several syllables.
"Graves!"
As he uttered these words, the white sand beneath his feet began to surge, the indescribably eerie aura intensifying around him. In the next instant, the white sand under the youth’s feet turned completely black, as an invisible force acted upon the surroundings, causing a vast expanse of white sand to swirl into a massive vortex!
After the blackness appeared, the white sand was quickly consumed and assimilated; the black color rapidly spread in all directions!
"Arise! The deceased! The time for revelry has come!"
More and more of the flowing white sands were sucked into the vortex, which grew larger under the youth’s feet. He was lifted into the air by a supernatural power, floating above the ground, and before long, an unmistakable black spot had appeared amidst the originally dazzling white desert!
Whoosh!
Suddenly, the vortex exploded, scattering black sand in all directions, which fell among the surrounding white sands. The vortex ceased, but from its midst, a huge black hand stretched out. The white sand, which had turned black, seemed to have been bestowed with life, rapidly congregating to form distorted figures. They opened their mouths as if to roar, but only the sound of the howling wind could be heard!
The black spread wildly across this white desert driven by a mysterious force, rising up high into the sky, keeping the chaotic golden electricity at bay.
On the other side, another person, quite a distance from the youth, plunged a mirror as tall as a man deeply into the white sands. Golden electricity, upon touching the mirror’s surface, had no effect whatsoever.
Perhaps due to the mirror’s absolute immunity to the golden electricity, the person carrying the mirror sat down behind it, pressing his back against the entire surface, speechless, tilting his head to watch the other youth’s confrontation with the golden electricity.
However, what started as minor skirmishes soon intensified. As the golden orb approached, the frequency and density of the electrical attacks increased!
The desert’s white began to be covered by gold, and finally, all that could be seen were the continuously flashing golden arcs, each so thick as to be unbelievable, and even the occasional thinner ones were as thick as a bucket!
The frenzied golden lightnings ravaged the white desert, and the blackness that appeared in the desert struggled to spread outwards. Initially, it seemed to have the upper hand, but as the golden orb drew closer, the speed of its spread slowed down until it finally halted, the black returning to its original color, and the grotesque beings that had crawled out of the vortex crumbled to piles of sand after moving only a short distance.
The youth surrounded by a wall of black sand looked up at the sky: "A bit troublesome, it seems. Being overconfident isn’t a good thing."
Others might not recognize what this golden orb was, but he knew—it was one of the Six Zombie Kings, the Light of Despair, Kamutos!
The potent mutating anti-life matter transformed It into what It is now, the aberrant mutating anti-life matter granting It an uncontrollable contaminating ability, turning the environment it passed through into white deserts like this.
It differed markedly from the other Zombie Kings—it was an entity of pure energy life! Lacking physical form, without a constant state, like water, one could say It possessed many shapes!
