Chapter 1401: Chapter 1396: What Are You Looking At?

"That’s good." Su Sigui said so.

"How do you see it?"

"I have a way to deal with this Resting-One."

"Resting-One?"

"Isn’t it an Order Protector?"

"There’s no time to explain so much, just stall it for no more than half a minute, we should be able to kill this Resting-One right here!"

"You..."

"I’m going ahead, you must stall it, otherwise Cloud Gorge Base is done for today!"

Su Sigui didn’t waste words for long, immediately setting off towards the place she came from.

But the next second, Tang Ye’s pupils shrank, and he shouted at Su Sigui’s retreating figure: "Be careful!"

He took a step towards Su Sigui; in that overgrown winged equipment, an inconspicuous feather flew towards Su Sigui at high speed, so fast that even the eyesight of a Level 8 New Human could not track its trajectory!

The moment Tang Ye’s voice rang out, Su Sigui subconsciously turned her head to look at him. She saw her own figure in his eyes, and in that instant, she felt her body become vacant, a very familiar and intimately remembered feeling came over her—the feeling of dying silently!

She tried to resist, but what met her was a small point growing larger, bringing with it a strange thrusting force!

She crumpled to the ground facing Tang Ye, seeing all the light and shadow in Tang Ye’s eyes, reflecting her body, suddenly diminish!

Everything happened way too suddenly, she couldn’t even feel the pain, just like that! That feeling of being suddenly crushed!

This annoying feeling!

Panic began to grow in her heart, as if a scar that had scabbed over time was suddenly torn open. She couldn’t feel pain, only a hollow sensation, yet it was the most agonizing wound in the world!

She urgently needed to heal this wound, she looked at Tang Ye, everything reflected in his eyes seemed to stop. She opened her mouth, not knowing what she said—actually, she hadn’t uttered a single syllable. Tang Ye didn’t know what she was saying, and Su Sigui herself didn’t even know if she had spoken. She mouthed the words, screaming them out in her heart over and over!

"Heal, heal, heal..."

"Preventing... me... from escaping? I need... to see... rebirth?"

"What is that..."

Tang Ye sprinted to Su Sigui’s side, nothing seemed wrong with her. The feather that flew at high speed passed through her body, like a steel needle piercing into tofu pudding, effortlessly buried into the wall. And at that moment, Su Sigui’s face turned pale in an instant.

"In the back!"

He was about to turn Su Sigui around to check the condition of her back, but he was stopped by her. He found that her eyes were constantly locked on his, as if she had found something: "Don’t move... Don’t move me... Look... keep looking..."

"What are you looking at!"

Tang Ye’s face darkened; he had no clue what Su Sigui was trying to convey, but he didn’t have the time to figure it out now.

His strong sense of perception alerted him to something being torn apart behind him, and he quickly scooped up Su Sigui and dodged to the side!

"Damn it, that thing can hear your plan!" Tang Ye suddenly remembered why Su Sigui was targeted first. That’s a Level 9!

He didn’t know what Level 9 Resters and New Humans were like, but as a Level 9 zombie, he knew very well that within a kilometer radius, he could pick up on even the slightest movements, and if he were to fully extend his perception without focusing on the details, he, as a Level 9 zombie, could easily sense across half of China!

Discussing plans targeted at such a being right next to it, you’d be well dealt with!

Su Sigui continued to murmur something with her mouth, her voice starting to blur. Eventually, her entire being slumped, clutching the collar of Tang Ye’s clothing as if desperately searching for something to grasp, but unable to catch hold of anything. With the last of her strength, she conveyed her urgency, but in the end, she lost consciousness.

Before her eyelids fell weakly shut, she again murmured two syllables – vague, and Tang Ye didn’t know what she wanted to say, what she wanted to do. His focus was entirely on the entity emerging from the equipment.

Seeing that Su Sigui had just lost consciousness due to her serious injuries, Tang Ye breathed a sigh of relief, and his whole body relaxed.

Without others watching, there was no need for him to hide anymore.

"I just got here and you wake up. Doing it on purpose?" he roared irritably. But the next second, the giant wings not far from him flapped violently, and red feathers shot towards him like a rainstorm. Tang Ye quickly scooped up Su Sigui and dashed away to a distance, then carefully put her down, facing the giant wings and roaring low. With this roar, the atmosphere around Su Sigui started to turn oddly strange.

He glanced over at the huge wings, then saw a long red line flying straight toward him. He promptly moved his legs, instantly flashing a hundred meters away!

But as fast as his speed was, the opponent’s was no less intense. Just as he came to a stop, a tremendous force exploded on him, smashing Tang Ye into a wall, and then, red feathers once again bombarded the wall where he was embedded!

Crack, crack!

The fragile wall was pocked like a honeycomb by the dense feathers, but Tang Ye’s figure was nowhere to be seen. The next second, his voice came from somewhere, filled with the unique malevolence of zombies!

"Contaminated Zone!"

Following his voice, tentacles grew one after another from the ground, denser than the feather storm unleashed by the opponent. The wriggling tentacles were like a living forest; in an instant, the entire space was filled with a strong stench of blood.

Tang Ye appeared in the back of this tentacle forest, raising a hand toward the equipment, as tentacles rushed over like a tide. The container for the equipment couldn’t withstand even a second before being torn to shreds by the tentacles!

With the equipment destroyed, the true face of the person inside was revealed to Tang Ye. It was a girl who appeared to be only seventeen years old with features that were so pleasant that one couldn’t help but feel comfortable at the sight of her, without dominance or a distant aura, as if she could get along with anyone. Her gentle demeanor made every gesture she made seem very tender.

The only difference was in her eyes – she had a pair of unique, deep blue eyes that emitted a faint glow.

When Tang Ye saw the girl’s face, he was stunned. He knew her!

"Chen Bieli! Why is it you?"

Chen Bieli’s huge wings behind her fluttered twice, seemingly out of sync with her body but also looking so naturally fitting.
