Chapter 1390 - 1385: The Real Killing Move

Chapter 1390: Chapter 1385: The Real Killing Move

Fifteen elite Order Guards, all at Level 8, appeared before everyone, each with silver lines around their necks. The moment their gazes clashed, the Order Guards, without any nonsense, drew their blades and charged! The vigour of Level 8 New Humans filled the space.

Su Sigui didn’t waste any words either. A sword and a saber drew long trails of cold light as he, alongside the roar of a zombie, became an extremely blurred shadow, slashing towards one of the Order Guards.

"We can’t withstand our fighting here; we’ll be buried in this place!" said Qi Wenfei, a member of Bright Moon City, with concern among the group.

Tang Ye glanced at him. This guy was now the least integrated among them, which often heralded danger.

But from another perspective, this guy seemed a bit dumb.

Qiuyue, standing beside him, touched the wall next to her and then gently stomped her foot, coldly replying to Qi Wenfei, "Don’t worry about that. The overall framework here is made of Level 13 H-steel, which can withstand it."

Qi Wenfei was a bit stunned. Although H-steel, refined thirteen times, might not completely block the destructive power of Level 8 New Humans, its quality was still up to standard. To a regular person, it’s like a piece of wood. As long as you’re not afraid of pain, you can still smash through it, but regular people fighting in a wooden hut wouldn’t affect anything, right?

"Then let’s go!"

Before Qi Wenfei could say anything, the rest of the people pulled out their weapons, full of fighting spirit, leaving him no choice but to follow along.

"How annoying."

Tang Ye seemed a little impatient, looked down at the ground for a moment, and then headed straight towards the large hole broken open by those Order Guards.

However, Su Sigui seemed to have played a trick. During a collision with one of the Order Guards, he quickly passed by four or five of them, his sword thrusting with almost enough force to split the spatial molecules, heavily smashing towards the Order Guard at the back!

The Order Guards that Su Sigui bypassed looked at each other. If anyone had been paying attention, they would see a dimness in their eyes for a moment before they lit up again, and then they all charged towards Tang Ye!

Tang Ye glanced at Su Sigui and didn’t bother with these Order Guards. He locked his perception on a stairway entrance and headed in that direction.

His speed wasn’t fast and appeared sluggish in the eyes of Level 8 New Humans, like an ordinary person. However, just as those inattentive Order Guards approached within ten meters of him, the wall next to him burst open, and a slender tentacle instantly wrapped around three of the Order Guards. The speed was so fast that even though they were Level 8 Order Guards, they couldn’t see clearly what happened and were tightly entwined by the tentacle!

In just a breath’s time, three Level 8 Powerhouses, elite at that, didn’t even have the chance to scream before they were twisted by the tentacle into a "human pretzel" too gruesome to look at and lay on the ground.

Afterward, the tentacle retreated into the wall, without leaving a trace to be seen.

As for the last Order Guard, its body lay in Tang Ye’s hands, its neck twisted at an unthinkable angle, being dragged down the stairs by him.

"Quite boring, huh?"

Tang Ye sighed. He had long felt the sense of loneliness that comes with being invincible. From time to time, he entertained the thought of fighting with other Zombie Kings, but it was just a thought, for doing so would truly be boring.

So, he started his retirement life ahead of time, just like those novels depict: some began roaming the mortal world, advancing from an unknown shrimp to becoming somewhat famous, then widely recognized, to legendary status; ultimately becoming invincible under the heavens before finally choosing seclusion. Such a person needs an opponent who could defeat them, as without such a rival, reigning unbeaten for too long would become dull.

Like playing a game, where one starts off as a newbie getting one-shot by the starter village boss only to end up one-shotting max-level map bosses; the ending for everyone is the same—uninstalling the game.

The difference between Level 8 and Level 9 might not sound like much, but the true gap is as vast as the distance between heaven and earth! For him and the other five great Zombie Kings in the world, everything below Level 9, even if coddled and kept in the mouth, might just melt away in a moment!

That’s the disparity!

So, to Tang Ye, Level 8 was hardly of any interest. Think about it, what normal person would want to pick a fight with an ant?

Isn’t that just plain sick?

Tossing the lifeless corpse in his hand into a corner, Tang Ye made his way down floor by floor.

The so-called second floor lay even deeper; looking down there was a drop of four or five stories in height, with two checkpoints that seemed to require iris recognition to open. Tang Ye felt the sturdiness of these checkpoint doors; they could easily stop a Level 8 Powerhouse—but to him, they were laughably weak.

Tang Ye’s method of getting past these checkpoints was straightforward—simply dismantle the whole door, and he proceeded to the second floor.

After he removed the last checkpoint door, he first saw a large group of soldiers, each being a Level 6 Powerhouse or higher, all clad in Aurora Breathers and waiting in tight formation. Upon seeing Tang Ye, they all aimed their weapons at him!

"Freeze! Otherwise, don’t blame us for being impolite!"

The man at the very back of the soldiers, who seemed to be a sergeant, bellowed! However, his voice was trembling, clearly putting on a brave front.

His words amused Tang Ye, who leisurely scanned his surroundings. He noticed quite a few weapons capable of killing a Level 8 Powerhouse, like the three immensely large caliber cannons overhead, and he knew what they were.

Annihilating Behemoth—The Survival Masterpiece!

This was a superweapon on par with the Sirius Star Observation Cannon, capable of hitting a Level 8 New Human with a high risk of fatality!

Colorful visions flowed through his eyes, giving Tang Ye’s gaze an odd tint, adding an air of unreality to the scene.

Suddenly, Tang Ye looked towards a certain place and couldn’t help but smile, thinking to himself: "So it’s there."

While the three Annihilating Behemoths had the power to slay a Level 8 Powerhouse, that’s presuming they hit their target, right?

The Tianlang Star Observation Cannon once directly blasted away a Level 8 Powerhouse, but such an event occurred when that unlucky Level 8 New Human was caught off guard; under normal circumstances, a Level 8 New Human dodging cannon fire was no trouble at all.

Thus, the odds of these three Annihilating Behemoths stopping a Level 8 New Human were slim, yet they still went through with this. The reason could only be that the Annihilating Behemoth served as a decoy, a distraction; the real threat were the two Level 8 New Humans lurking in the shadows.
