Chapter 1224 - 1219: The Strange Item on the Neck

Chapter 1224: Chapter 1219: The Strange Item on the Neck

Tang Ye’s eyes beheld these strange individuals. To him, they appeared merely thirty meters away, yet perceptually, they seemed not to exist at all!

In simpler terms, these "people" lacked presence.

These were creatures imperceptible by any normal means.

Within the factory stood about thirteen or fourteen such individuals. Tang Ye glanced around, noticing several corpses strewn in corners—likely the unfortunate factory workers who fell victim here the day before.

"Who are you?"

A Peace Party soldier, gazing sternly at these odd beings, aimed his weapon at them, ready to fire without hesitation should anything amiss occur!

The factory’s "they" one by one turned their bodies to face Tang Ye and his group. Some hunched over, craning their necks at an eerie angle to look at them.

It was then that Tang Ye sensed a chilling aura permeating the air, revealing a sickly smile on his formerly expressionless face.

The air hung still for over ten seconds, after which these odd beings in the factory erupted into animalistic roars!

Yeow~ah!

All fourteen of them charged towards Tang Ye in bizarre postures, shattering the ground beneath them as they stomped over it.

"They’re all Level 6!"

Tang Ye stepped forward, picking up speed. Upon reaching one of the nearest strange beings, he delivered a kick. His foot moved so fast towards the creature’s abdomen that the air couldn’t clear out of the way quickly enough. The immense pressure built up and finally exploded with a loud ’bang’! In the factory building, walls crumbled down noisily, some even collapsing under the force.

The Peace Party soldiers behind him gasped in surprise. Could a Level 7 New Human be so powerful that a single strike could cause such destruction?

However, Ah Fu wasn’t surprised. They thought Tang Ye was Level 6, but in fact, he was Level 8. The strength of a Level 8 zombie was beyond their imagination. He knew that ever since his boss evolved to Level 8, he had yet to see him fully exert his strength.

And now, the destruction caused by Tang Ye’s kick was nothing for a Level 8 zombie!

"Prepare for combat!"

"Marshal, all these people have Level 6 strength!" a soldier by his side reported, noting a troubling detail.

The soldiers’ faces grew solemn. The strength of these fourteen strange beings left an impact on them, but fortunately, with the powerful presence of the chairman and vice-chairman, both Level 7 New Humans, they weren’t overly worried.

As Tang Ye knocked one of the strange beings unconscious with a single blow, Ah Fu and Bai Huipeng immediately advanced, each attacking the strange beings they faced.

Chaos erupted on the scene, with Tang Ye leading at the forefront, calm and steady. His hands, heavy as iron fists, brought down each strange being in his path in a bloody spectacle, and soon, all lay motionless, diffusing a stench of blood into the air.

"You all go in and see if there’s anyone else," Tang Ye said.

"Yes!"

The soldiers nodded and rushed into the factory building.

"Boss, what about these corpses?"

Ah Fu asked Tang Ye.

"Just wait a moment."

He waved his hand and walked over to one of the bodies, bending down to lift it. Due to his and Ah Fu’s formidable strength, these Level 6 beings were no match at all!

As Tang Ye lifted one, the upper and lower halves separated like crumbling tofu, oozing a mix of black, yellow, and red fluid.

"Have they been dead long?" As a zombie himself—a being of the dead—Tang Ye had a strong understanding of deceased creatures. Observing the foul-smelling fluids within these strange beings, it quickly dawned on him that they resulted from internal decay in long-dead organisms. The surfaces looked deceivingly normal, likely preserved by some anti-life substance.

Ah Fu came forward, taking a steel dagger from a soldier, and sliced the skin of one body. Similarly, a disgusting mix of yellow and red fluids gushed out.

He and Tang Ye exchanged looks. "Boss, this one’s been dead for at least two months, and yours for at least half a year!"

Compared to the corpse in front of Tang Ye, the fluids from the one Ah Fu examined seemed fresher with some visible organ fragments.

Tang Ye remained silent, and the soldiers behind him grimaced, possibly due to the stench of the emitted fluids.

Soon, those who had entered the factory building rushed back out and reported to Tang Ye, "Marshal, we’ve searched everywhere... uh... no unusual personnel were found."

"Is that so?" Tang Ye frowned, which might have prompted the reporting soldier, also sensing something overlooked despite thorough searches, to quickly instruct those who had just emerged, "Go back and look again, more carefully. Don’t miss a single corner."

The soldiers hesitated at first but offered no objection, turning back inside.

"Forget it. Don’t look anymore. You won’t find anything even if you turn the place upside down," Tang Ye said, having sensed the actual perpetrator wasn’t there, which left him feeling somewhat stifled.

The soldiers who had just turned to re-enter nodded and halted.

However, just as Tang Ye was about to discard the corpse in his hands, something caught his peripheral vision, stopping his movement abruptly.

"What is this?"

Narrowing his eyes, Tang Ye noticed something affixed to the back of the strange being’s neck. It resembled a small, black half-ring with some patterns flowing with dark red liquid, precisely fitting around the creature’s neck.

Curiously, Ah Fu came over for a look and then checked other bodies, finding the same peculiar object on each of the beings’ necks.
