Chapter 114: Chapter 111: Let You Despair_1

"What is this?"

"Zombie birds!"

On the helicopter, the soldiers looked at the zombified sparrows, full of contempt on their faces.

*Chirp Chirp*

The zombified sparrows persistently pecked at the windshield, producing ear-piercing chirps. The noise drove the soldiers crazy.

"Pick up speed, or we’re screwed!"

The team leader didn’t pay any attention to the zombie birds but insisted to the soldiers, who all started working more diligently. They knew well what would happen if they were too slow in completing their mission.

*Silence*

Suddenly, one after another, zombie birds bombarded the windscreen, pecking violently as they made loud, bang-bang noises.

The team leader looked surprised. "What’s happening?"

"Damn it, team leader, look at what’s behind us!" One soldier, glanced at the rear, was so shocked that he turned paper white.

"What is it?"

The team leader just shrugged and looked around casually, but his face suddenly froze. An immense flock of zombie birds, like a cloud of locusts, was swooping down on their armed helicopter.

"F*ck! Go, now!"

The team leader yelled, temporarily losing his composure. He hadn’t expected this. Wasn’t the sweeping operation going smoothly? Why had things turned out like this?

Armed Helicopter Z-016 picked up speed in an attempt to rise to the highest altitude. But since their attack on Lin City, it felt as though an invisible curse had befallen them.

*Roar!*

A deathly roar filled the air. A huge figure on top of a building ahead had grabbed hold of the structure of the helicopter.

"Oh no!"

*Crash!*

The armed helicopter tilted to one side, losing its balance. Suddenly Ah Fu, supposed to have died was, unbeknownst to them, on top of the building, ready to hit the damned rescue team when they least expected it.

Flashes of fire still flickered on the streets, blazing wildly among the innumerable bodies of the zombies. There were meant to be no living zombies anymore. However, a figure blackened to the bone somehow managed to stand up.

After surviving the engulfing flames, Tang Ye, now a Level 2 zombie, was still alive. Zombies at this level had incredible strength and vitality.

His body had been burnt to cinders, with black ash continuously falling off him. He reached out with trembling hands and touched Nannan’s shrivelled and dried-up skin.

"She’s... She’s still alive! Hahaha, I can still feel her breath, I was successful, hur, hur..."

"This is great. None of them died! Hur hur, this is really great. None of them died. Hur hur..."

Realizing that Nannan didn’t die, Tang Ye burst into laughter. His laughter was full of insanity, fueled by unending hatred.

"Hur hur, you are all done for, haha, you are screwed. I will make you feel fear, I will let you experience despair, haha!"

Tang Ye lifted his skeletal leg and started to walk forward slowly, his eyes remained cold as he stared at the armed helicopter above.

"Kill them!"

Tang Ye commanded Ah Fu, hanging below. Upon receiving Tang Ye’s signal, Ah Fu became frenzied. Stubbornly clasping onto the helicopter’s landing gear, he began to climb up with all his might.

Zombie birds began to cover the helicopter’s body, one by one, as if coordinating with Ah Fu.

The team leader in the helicopter began to panic. He rushed to look at the bottom of the helicopter. But all he received was Ah Fu’s spiteful glare.

*Roar!*

The moment Ah Fu saw the leader’s eyes, he roared in anger once again and applied even more force with his hands.

*Squeak Squeak*

The sound of loosening screws could be heard. The pilot tried his best to maintain the helicopter’s balance, but no matter how hard he tried to control it, the helicopter was getting closer and closer to the ground due to Ah Fu’s heavy weight.

As the helicopter kept descending, the zombies below, who had been waiting for a while now, began to get excited. They reached their rotting hands up to grab hold of any part they could.

The team leader took one look at the ravenous zombies below him. His face lost all the composure it originally had. If they fell to the ground, they would be torn to shreds!

"Turn on the communicator, quick! Turn it on!"

The team leader yelled with a furious face. Whoever had killed Ah Fu just now had turned off the communicator to prevent any information from leaking. He thought he could find an appropriate excuse when they returned to Qinshan Base.

"Team leader, it’s on!" one soldier said.

Hearing this, the anxious leader snatched the machine and said, "This is Armed Helicopter Z-016, we need..."

Before he could finish, he became speechless. Over the communicator, he could hear a mesh of reports – explosions, zombie roars – it was overwhelming.

"Colonel Zhang has been martyred. Everyone, evacuate immediately. Just ensure the safety of our own people!"

"Hello, hello! Z-003 is under attack. Send reinforcements quickly! We’re under relentless attack. Quick, reinforce us... Ah! Help!"

*Explosion!*

"We aren’t the only ones in danger."

The team leader was lost. He looked vacantly at the zombie birds rushing past and a sense of despair crept into his heart.

*Roar!*

The roar of Ah Fu sounded once again; he had managed to climb onto the landing gear with his own strength!

*Boom!*

He raised his fists and struck the windshield with all his might. The force of the blow instantly shattered the windshield.

"Team leader, we’re screwed!" the pilot cried in despair.

But the team leader was still frozen in place, unmoving. At that moment, he knew everything was over – completely over!

The helicopter began spiralling uncontrollably, plunging towards the ground. Still on the helicopter, Ah Fu was unsatisfied with merely smashing a window. He reached out for the propellers above.

*Crack!*

Ah Fu’s power stopped the rotating propeller. With a crunching sound, the enraged Ah Fu tore the whole propeller off!

*Boom!*

The once awe-inspiring armed helicopter crashed to the ground. It skidded along for a while, dragging countless zombies with it before finally halting.

*Roars!*

Ah Fu and the other zombies roared together, starting to rip apart the helicopter’s door.

Seeing this, a giant zombie with a huge head also ran excitedly towards it. But when it tried to get past Tang Ye, now reduced to a skeleton, he blocked it with his bony claw.

"I should be thanking you! Hur hur."

Tang Ye gave an icy laugh, driving his pure black bony claw straight into its brain, then began to absorb energy. In no time, this zombie’s round head withered.

"A level 2 zombie?"

Tang Ye hesitated for a moment but didn’t think too much of it. The energy this zombie had donated was surprisingly the same as that of a Level 2 zombie!

He stepped forward towards the crashed helicopter, his skeletal face showing a weird smirk.

"I said, I will make you all fall into despair. Hur Hur ~"
