I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 1011 - 108: Zombie Paradise
Chapter 1011: Chapter 108: Zombie Paradise
Hearing Yaztec’s words, perhaps because he had been jostling through the surge of people for so long, Telos couldn’t help but stop and look at Yaztec.
"Kid, you better keep a close eye on the equipment, it’s my lifeline."
Yaztec scratched his head, feeling that his previous words had been in vain, but he repeated them anyway.
"Teacher, we can’t keep going forward, it’s too dangerous! Danger!"
Watching the zombie wreak havoc, surrounded only by black smoke and red lava that flowed slowly, the giant’s destruction was terrifying. Everywhere it passed, living beings were devastated, not a single building remained intact!
And of course, Telos heard what Yaztec had said, shouting, "No! We can’t go back, that’s a Level 6 zombie. Kid, are you afraid of dying? You should be like me, having a fanatic love for your interests!"
"True passion can never be worn down by danger. We should keep moving forward, chasing our dreams. If you are really scared, you can stay here; I can go alone. But you are a new human, and I am just a normal person. Can’t you even outdo an old man like me?"
Telos bombarded Yaztec with a rapid-fire tirade, his eyes burning with madness. His passion for photography had surpassed mere profit. For Telos, it didn’t matter anymore how much money his works could bring him. What he desired most was for his works to be known by more people, to know that there was a photographer named Telos Dor.
This frenzied pursuit made him a well-known photographer in the world before the Apocalypse, and even amidst the apocalypse, this pursuit still shone with dazzling light.
Yaztec’s body trembled as he looked into Telos’s eyes, struggling internally. Truthfully, he was scared. Two years ago in Russia, he had encountered a Level 6 zombie and the fear he felt at that time was indescribable. But he had suppressed his fear, and with determination, he had captured the image of his dreams with his camera.
Here, however, Yaztec faced a Level 7 zombie. Even though they were still two kilometers away from it, just one glimpse caused his heart to contract violently.
Too terrifying!
He shook his head at Telos, perhaps moved by his words, or perhaps realizing that to become an excellent photographer, one needed the kind of conviction Telos possessed.
"Thank you for your guidance, teacher."
Bowing to Telos, Yaztec expressed his gratitude, and Telos, with a satisfied look, patted his shoulder and said, "That’s good. Put on the heat-resistant suit, and come with me."
"Yes!"
Yaztec nodded, opened the case he was holding which contained two heat-resistant suits, bought cheaply from the locals.
The two hastily donned the heat-resistant suits, and once the suits were on, the temperature around them seemed to drop a little, making it slightly more bearable.
"Let’s go!" Telos said to Yaztec, turning his head, and then the two of them, under the peculiar stares of those around them, made their way step by step through the crowd towards the rampaging Ah Fu.
But the further they went, the more intense the surrounding air became, unbearably hot; even in heat-resistant suits, they felt as if their bodies were about to melt. Glancing at the thermometer, it had already soared to over eighty degrees— a temperature high enough to boil water, which was evident from the white vapor drifting in the sky.
On the streets lay several bodies with severely wrinkled skin. The crowd behind was no longer as dense as before, having thinned out, but those lagging behind had little energy left, and could only scream in despair, begging for help from others.
The two reached a relatively higher ground, and Telos, being an ordinary person, had reached his limit of endurance. He was frantic, but no fool; he knew that getting any closer to the Level 7 zombie would put his life in danger.
"Okay, let’s stop here," he said.
Gulping in breaths, Telos was drenched in sweat as if someone had splashed a bucket of water over him, his entire body coated with sweat because it was just too hot, forcing him to strip off all his clothes, while Yaztec did so even more simply. Being Russian, and having lived in the coldest parts of Russia, his resistance to heat was abysmally low, making the high temperatures even more torturous for him than for Telos.
However, the body of a Level 4 New Human could withstand high temperatures and would not be scorched to death instantly like ordinary people.
He stripped off all his clothing down to his boxer shorts, grabbed a water bag, and without thinking, poured it over his head; in such conditions, even the water was hot, but it was still a relief.
"Okay," Yaztec nodded hard, opened his equipment bag, and set up the camera equipment in a suitable position.
Telos took a moment to adjust his breathing and started observing his surroundings; even in the hot environment, a satisfied smile was on his face. This spot was just right, standing there, he could see Ah Fu and all the buildings around him, but Ah Fu’s surroundings were now nothing but ruins, as if they had just endured an apocalypse, with occasional scorched pits visible.
Just as Yaztec had finished setting up the camera equipment, he suddenly heard Telos let out a cry of alarm.
"OH, my God, what is that, what the hell is that, God!"
Telos swore loudly, and Yaztec’s gaze towards him changed upon hearing the sound, it became strange, as if he was seeing Telos for the first time. Honestly, it was the first time he’d ever heard Telos use foul language.
"What happened?"
Curious, Yaztec quickly went over to Telos’s side and followed his gaze, and let out a slew of swear words just as harsh as Telos’s.
"This, what the hell!"
He couldn’t help but step back, and over where Ah Fu was, the streets filled with rubble now displayed an unsettling series of silver gleams!
In Yaztec’s line of sight, a corpse that had been distorted by the high temperatures was gradually getting plumper, and its skin was slowly turning silver. Muscles bulged out, tough spikes of bone pierced through the flesh on its back, and its face and hands were also entangled with protruding bones, the most terrifying part being the flames that intermittently burst from the bodies of these silver zombies.
Corpses stood up, each one a three-meter-tall power-type zombie, all mutated zombies! They were no longer themselves—but them!
Yaztec turned pale, his fear for the distant Level 7 zombie growing: the zombies he had infected were all mutated zombies. He could foresee that soon, Cepuguo City would become a paradise of zombies!
