Chapter 236: The attack

Chapter: The attack

The room was filled with tension as Leo, Ani, and Susan finally spotted Adam and his creations.

Relief washed over their faces, and a faint smile broke through their worried expressions. Ani, despite her bound state, managed to call out weakly, "Adam..."

Ani knew that Adam would definitely come and on seeing Adam she became much calmer, otherwise she was feeling very scared.

Adam turned his attention briefly to Ani, his face softening for a moment, but his gaze quickly snapped back to the Cosmic Being.

His voice was steady but low, carrying an edge of defiance. "You know, I used to be impressed by your abilities, Cosmic Being. Or should I say... Samuel."

Some time ago Pratham has told Adam everything about the cosmic being that’s why Adam is feeling so confident, he knows that the name of the cosmic being is Samuel and he is a school student, he also lives a little distance away from Adam’s city.

The air in the room shifted, and a wave of shock rippled through the enemy ranks.

Samuel, the Cosmic Being, stiffened at the mention of his real name. His face twisted into an expression of pure rage, and even his allies—Emily, Krish, Smith, and Ro—turned to look at him in astonishment.

Emily knows Smauel, but she doesn’t know the name of Cosmic Being, because till date Cosmic Being hasn’t told his name to anyone, that’s why all her companions are surprised.

"How dare you..." Samuel snarled, his voice trembling with fury. "If you call me that name again, I will lose all patience and end this game right here, breaking every promise I’ve made."

Adam smirked, his composure unshaken. "Two days? You’ve misunderstood the situation. I found your location, your name, and everything else about you with ease. Do you really think I’m weak? If you’re so confident, let me show you something."

Raising one hand, Adam’s calm demeanor belied the chaos about to erupt.

The building began to tremble violently, as though struck by an earthquake.

Emily, Krish, Smith, and Ro exchanged alarmed glances while inspecting their surroundings.

The walls cracked, and pieces of debris rained down from above.

Suddenly, the ceiling lifted away from the building as if an unseen force had plucked it like a leaf.

The walls collapsed outward, leaving the captives and their captors exposed under an open sky.

The entire building floated upward, its foundation disappearing into the clouds, leaving only the ground floor intact.

Above them, the sky was filled with psychic spirits, glowing like constellations. Sona led the swarm, her golden wings blazing like the sun.

Krish stumbled backward, his voice trembling. "What... what is this?"

Emily tightened her grip on her sword, her eyes darting between the spirits and Adam’s creations.

Emily’s green eyes are amazed at the sight, her white hair is blowing with the wind coming from the sky.

Samuel remained fixated on Adam, his expression unreadable.

He had sensed the approaching spirits long before they arrived and had tried to escape. But Phantom—Adam’s creation—had effortlessly nullified his teleportation ability, leaving him trapped.

Samuel’s attention shifted to Phantom. He couldn’t help but acknowledge her power. I underestimated him, he thought bitterly. How could Adam create something capable of canceling my abilities?

He forced a smile, masking his frustration. "Do you think bringing an army of spirits will scare me?" he sneered.

Adam remained silent, standing resolute.

Krish, still visibly shaken, tried to muster some courage. "Your powers are nothing compared to the Cosmic Being’s," he shouted at Adam.

Before he could say another word, a blur of motion interrupted him.

In the blink of an eye, Krish’s arm was severed, and the limb fell to the ground with a sickening thud.

Krish gasped, his eyes darting to his now-bleeding stump. Pain registered seconds later, and he let out a blood-curdling scream. "AAAaaaaa...?!"

Standing before him was Ninja, his twin swords gleaming in the faint light. His movements had been so swift that even Krish hadn’t registered when the attack happened.

Samuel observed the scene from the corner of his eye. For the first time, he felt powerless. His mind raced for solutions, but none presented themselves.

Emily, too, was stunned. She hadn’t seen Ninja approach Krish, let alone attack. Her knuckles whitened as she gripped her sword tighter, realizing the danger they were in.

Smith’s courage evaporated, and he stumbled back, hiding behind Ro. "Ro, protect me!" he cried.

Even Ro, with his imposing frame and muscular build, was paralyzed with fear. He glanced at the lifeless arm on the ground and then at Ninja, unsure of his next move.

Adam walked toward Ani, Leo, and Susan, who were still bound to their chairs. Stopping in front of Susan, he leaned down and asked softly, "Where is Christina?"

Susan’s eyes welled with tears as she replied, "She was protecting us... but this man..." She gestured weakly toward Samuel. "He did something. I don’t know how, but she’s been captured—or worse."

Adam’s jaw tightened. He stood and turned to face Samuel, his expression a mixture of anger and resolve.

"You enjoy playing mind games with your victims," Adam said, his voice cutting through the tension. "You treat them like lesser beings, like insects. Let’s see how you fare in a game of your own."

Samuel’s gaze hardened, his patience wearing thin. "You’re testing your luck, Adam."

Adam smirked. "Who said this is about luck?" He raised his hand again, his movements deliberate.

A sudden scream pierced the air. Everyone turned to see Smith collapse to the ground, lifeless. Zero stood over him, his blaster arm still glowing from the shot he had fired.

The beam had pierced Smith’s chest, leaving no doubt about the outcome.

"SMITH!" Ro roared, his fists clenching in rage. He charged at Zero, his massive frame barreling forward.

Emily, too, sprang into action, drawing her sword and rushing toward Ninja.

The battle was about to erupt into chaos, and Samuel, for the first time, found himself cornered.
