Chapter 199: The Escape

Chapter: The Escape

The sound of the sniper’s bullet splitting in midair was followed by a stunned silence. The onlookers gasped, their disbelief evident.

Phones were out, capturing every second of the spectacle as the bullet halves clattered harmlessly on the pavement beside Ninja.

Inside the President’s office, a tense atmosphere prevailed.

A large TV screen displayed live footage of Ninja standing tall, his four arms crossed, exuding a calm dominance amidst the growing crowd.

The security officer, flustered and visibly alarmed, hurried to brief the President.

"Sir, the Union member identified as Ninja is outside the Administrative Area. He has openly challenged Logan for a fight."

President Zeo, his steely demeanor unwavering, turned his sharp gaze to the officer. "Call Ranger Logan immediately. I want him here within minutes."

The officer nodded, refraining from questioning the President’s decision. Without another word, he exited the conference room to relay the orders.

Deep within the mountain hideout, Ranger Logan sat comfortably on a worn leather sofa, his sword resting beside him.

The quiet hum of machines echoed in the dimly lit chamber. A satellite phone buzzed incessantly on a nearby console, breaking his tranquility.

Logan ignored it at first, irritated by the interruption. But as the buzzing persisted, he sighed, reaching for the receiver. "This is Ranger Logan. Over."

A tense voice responded from the other end. "This is HQ. We have a situation. A power holder, identifying himself as Ninja, is outside the Administrative Area. He has issued a direct challenge to you."

Logan’s irritation vanished, replaced by excitement. A grin spread across his face as he leaned forward, gripping the phone tightly. "I’ll be there in five minutes. Over."

Logan grabbed his sword and rose from the sofa, his excitement barely contained. As he made his way toward the exit, a soldier stationed nearby noticed his urgency.

"Sir, is everything alright? Where are you going?" the soldier asked hesitantly.

Logan didn’t break his stride, glancing over his shoulder with a smirk. "Something important has come up. Stay here and ensure everything runs smoothly."

"Yes, sir!" the soldier replied, though confusion clouded his face as he saluted.

Logan exited the hideout, the massive steel gates creaking open to reveal the vast mountain range bathed in sunlight.

Without hesitation, he began sprinting toward the Administrative Area, his thoughts consumed by the upcoming fight.

His senses, dulled by excitement, failed to register the presence of Sona and Tayo, who were watching from a safe distance.

As Logan disappeared from view, Pratham’s voice echoed telepathically in Sona’s mind. "Phase two begins now. Get ready."

Sona nodded and took to the air, carrying the black crate.

Tayo stayed behind, her role in the mission not yet required. Sona teleported to the entrance of the mountain hideout, landing softly on the stone floor.

Her original plan had been to teleport directly into Central Vista, but Mikasa had advised against it.

The possibility of detection devices inside was too high, and the mission’s success depended on absolute stealth.

Sona carefully placed the large black crate on the floor, her golden wings shimmering faintly in the dim light.

She scanned the immediate area, ensuring the coast was clear before pressing a small button on the crate’s surface.

With a soft hiss, the crate split into two halves, revealing its contents—three sleek, black robotic mice with glowing red eyes.

Their metallic bodies gleamed under the faint overhead light as they activated, their eyes flickering to life.

"All set," Sona whispered telepathically.

Pratham, using his skill Parallel Processing, took control of the robotic mice.

From the Internet Dimension, Mikasa began guiding him through the layout of the hideout. "The path ahead is clear. Proceed to the Central Vista entrance."

The mice scurried out of the crate, moving in perfect synchronization.

Their movements were precise and silent as they advanced deeper into the hideout. Sona hovered a few feet above the ground, her watchful eyes following their progress.

The mice reached the entrance of Central Vista, a heavily guarded section of the hideout.

A lift nearby led directly to the core of the facility. Avoiding the lift, the robotic mice climbed down the walls and scurried toward the main gate of Central Vista.

Mikasa’s voice rang in Pratham’s mind. "Three scientists are exiting the gate. When it opens, you’ll have three seconds to slip inside. Be ready."

Pratham focused intently. As the gate opened, the mice darted inside with lightning speed, just as the scientists stepped out.

The gate sealed shut behind them, leaving no trace of the robotic infiltrators.

"Perfect," Mikasa said, her tone triumphant. "Your path is almost clear."

The robotic mice navigated through a maze of crates and machinery, guided by Mikasa and Pratham.

Finally, they reached a large storage container filled with detection devices. The container’s lid was slightly ajar, revealing the devices neatly stacked inside.

The mice climbed onto the container, their red eyes scanning the contents. "We’re halfway there," Mikasa noted.

The mission was progressing smoothly, but the real challenge was yet to come.

As the robotic mice crawled into the open wooden crate, Pratham meticulously guided their every movement using his Parallel Processing skill.

The red glow of their eyes reflected against the metallic surface of the detection devices stacked inside.

Each mouse carefully latched onto a device, the adhesive strips on their backs seamlessly holding the objects in place.

Pratham’s focus never wavered. "One device each. That’s all we need right now," he muttered to himself in the Internet Dimension, his virtual form glowing with concentrated energy.

The mice scaled the sides of the crate with agility, their devices secured tightly.

They skittered across the floor and hid behind a metallic container near the entrance of Central Vista.

Mikasa’s voice crackled into Pratham’s thoughts. "Soldiers are exiting. You’ll have another three seconds when the gate opens. Be ready."

As the massive gate creaked open, the mice darted through the gap with precision. The soldiers exiting the facility didn’t notice a thing. Once inside, Pratham exhaled in relief as Mikasa chimed, "We’re clear. Proceed to the lift."

The mice avoided the lift, climbing the wall with mechanical precision. The journey to the surface was swift, their movements nearly imperceptible.

Within minutes, they emerged near the entrance, where Sona waited, hovering anxiously above the ground.

The mice scampered toward the black crate they had been deployed from, each one still carrying its device.

They entered the crate through a small opening, and Sona descended to seal it shut. The crate folded neatly, hiding the precious devices within.

Just as Sona bent to lift the crate, Tayo’s telepathic voice echoed in her mind. "Sona, hide quickly. Someone’s coming."

Sona froze as the heavy metal gates of the hideout groaned open.

A convoy of military jeeps and trucks rolled in, their engines growling loudly. She barely had time to react as a soldier in one of the leading jeeps spotted the crate.

"What’s that doing there?" the soldier demanded, glaring at the driver.

"I don’t know, sir! We didn’t leave anything out here!" the driver stammered nervously.

"Then pick it up and get it inside, quickly!"

Sona’s heart raced as a soldier stepped out of the jeep and walked toward the crate.

Her wings twitched as she debated her options. She couldn’t let the mission fail—not after Adam had entrusted this crucial task to her.

As the soldier bent to lift the crate, Sona acted instinctively. She perched on top of it, invisible to the human eye, her small frame adding no weight.

The soldier grunted as he hoisted the crate into the back of the jeep. Sona held her breath as she tumbled into the vehicle along with the crate.

The jeep’s interior was cramped. Soldiers sat on benches along either side, their rifles slung across their shoulders.

The crate sat between them, with Sona crouched low, her golden eyes darting around the space.

One soldier absentmindedly rested his boot on the crate’s surface, dangerously close to the button that would open it.

Sona clenched her fists, ready to use her Telekinesis if necessary to prevent disaster.

Tayo’s voice crackled in her mind. "Sona, are you alright? Are the devices safe?"

"They saw the crate. I’m with it, but this is risky," Sona replied, her voice trembling slightly.

Pratham’s calm voice followed. "Do you need assistance? I can—"

"No," Sona interrupted. "Adam trusted me with this. I’ll see it through."

Pratham chuckled softly. "As you wish. We’ll be waiting."

As the jeep rumbled deeper into the hideout, Sona remained motionless.

The soldier’s boot was dangerously close to the button on the crate, her worst fear threatening to materialize.

If the crate opened, exposing the devices and the robotic mice, the mission would be over.

The vehicle came to a sudden halt, jolting everyone inside. The crate slid slightly, dislodging the soldier’s boot.

Sona lost her balance and tumbled forward, landing face-first on the cold metal floor.

"We’re here for the first batch," the officer in the front seat called out, addressing a soldier outside.

"Stay here. We’ll load the supplies," the soldier replied, saluting.

Hearing this, Sona’s heart sank. "First batch. They’re here for the detection devices," she thought, realizing the gravity of the situation.

She scrambled toward the crate, ignoring the stinging pain from her fall. Placing a hand on the crate, she whispered, "Teleportation."

In an instant, she and the crate disappeared, reappearing outside the hideout beside Tayo. The sudden materialization startled Tayo, who reached out to steady Sona as she stumbled to the ground.

The crate landed with a dull thud beside Sona as she collapsed to her knees. Her wings drooped, and her breathing was labored, but her face showed triumph.

Tayo knelt beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright? Did you get it?"

Sona raised a trembling hand, touching the crate. "Mission complete," she whispered.

From the Internet Dimension, Mikasa’s voice chimed in. "Phase two is complete. Prepare for phase three."

Sona nodded weakly, her exhaustion evident. Yet, despite the strain, she managed a small smile. She had succeeded.
