Chapter 185: The Healing Light
Chapter: The Healing Light
Tayo and Sona hovered mid-air, their figures outlined against the gray, cloud-laden sky. Beneath them, the clouds had gathered in thick clusters, casting a surreal glow over the hospital grounds.
Tona, sensing the dense energy surrounding them, floated slightly ahead of Tayo. She extended her hands forward, her delicate fingers glowing as a brilliant white light burst forth from her palms.
The light cascaded downward, blanketing the area in an ethereal aura.
On the ground below, a crowd had gathered near the hospital gates, their faces marked by a mixture of hope and awe.
As Sona’s light touched the ground, a subtle yet irresistible force pushed them back, creating a clear path leading toward the hospital’s entrance.
The spectators, puzzled and astonished, murmured among themselves. It felt as though an invisible hand had gently but firmly urged them aside.
Tayo descended gracefully, her golden dress gleaming even under the muted light.
Her mismatched eyes—one an electric blue and the other a fiery red—scanned the crowd with calm authority.
She spoke, her voice clear yet soothing, carrying a weight of purpose. "Please do not block our path. We are here on an urgent mission to help those who have been turned into vampires. They need us to restore them."
Her words, though simple, carried immense power.
The gathered people nodded in understanding, some murmuring prayers of gratitude, while others stepped aside willingly.
Slowly, the path to the hospital opened up, allowing Tayo and Sona to proceed without interruption.
As they approached the main entrance, the hospital staff began spilling out.
Nurses and doctors, who had been tirelessly battling the crisis within, rushed forward with expressions of relief and hope.
One of the senior nurses, a tall woman with streaks of gray in her hair, stepped forward, her voice shaking with emotion.
"Thank you, Fairy Tayo. We’re so grateful you’ve come. Finally, there’s hope for the patients inside."
Tayo floated down until her feet touched the ground, her radiant wings folding behind her.
She approached the nurse, her expression serious but kind. "I need to see the patients one by one. Please guide me to them so I can begin the healing process."
The nurse nodded quickly, motioning for Tayo and Sona to follow her. "This way," she said. "I’ll show you to them."
Tayo began to walk, her movements smooth and purposeful. Sona trailed behind, unusually quiet.
Typically lively and chatty, she now found herself subdued, observing the situation with an uncharacteristic solemnity.
Her sharp blue eyes scanned the surroundings, taking in every detail of the hospital.
She could feel the overwhelming presence of suffering within these walls.
Despite her usual disdain for silence, she refrained from speaking, allowing the gravity of the situation to settle over her.
The nurse led them through the hospital’s bustling corridors, past rooms filled with restrained vampires.
Tayo’s golden presence seemed to brighten the dim hallways, drawing curious and hopeful gazes from everyone they passed.
Their journey finally brought them to a room where a couple sat anxiously outside the door.
Shreya’s parents were immediately recognizable—the mother, her face pale and etched with worry, sat holding her husband’s hand tightly.
The father, his shoulders squared in a show of strength, stared intently at the door as though willing it to open and deliver good news.
When they saw the nurse approaching with Tayo and Sona, both leapt to their feet.
The mother’s eyes widened in recognition. "Is that... Fairy Tayo?" she gasped, her voice trembling with hope.
The father gripped his wife’s arm gently, his gaze fixed on Tayo.
He had seen her before—on the news, in stories of her miraculous powers. Without hesitation, the couple rushed forward.
"Did you call her here to save our daughter?" the mother asked the nurse, her voice almost breaking.
The nurse smiled faintly and shook her head. "No, Fairy Tayo came here on her own, to heal all the patients in need."
Hearing this, tears welled up in Shreya’s mother’s eyes. She turned to Tayo, folding her hands in gratitude.
"We can never repay you for this kindness," she said, her voice choked with emotion.
Tayo gave her a gentle smile, placing a comforting hand on the woman’s shoulder. "There’s no need for thanks. Let me help your daughter first."
The mother nodded vigorously, stepping back and motioning toward the door. "Please, this way. Hurry!" she urged, pulling the door open in her haste.
Tayo floated into the room, her wings unfurling slightly as she moved. Sona followed close behind, her expression still serious.
Inside, Shreya lay strapped to a hospital bed. Her body was pale and frail, her once-lustrous skin now sallow and marred with signs of her transformation.
Her red eyes, glowing faintly even in her weakened state, flickered open as the presence of Tayo and Sona filled the room.
Tayo hovered above Shreya, raising her hands slowly. With a practiced motion, she activated her healing ability.
A translucent, holographic interface appeared before her, displaying intricate symbols and data about Shreya’s condition.
The first touch was crucial. Tayo placed her glowing hand gently on Shreya’s forehead, initiating the process.
Immediately, a golden light began to emanate from Shreya’s body, spreading like ripples across her skin.
The transformation was painful but beautiful to witness. Her skin, once dull and lifeless, began to regenerate. Burned tissue flaked away, revealing healthy, glowing flesh beneath.
Her fangs, a haunting reminder of her vampiric state, receded, replaced by normal teeth.
Her crimson eyes dulled, the red fading until her natural dark brown irises reappeared.
It was as though her body was reclaiming its humanity, inch by inch.
Outside the room, Shreya’s parents peered through the doorway, their hearts pounding as they watched the miraculous transformation unfold.
The father clenched his fists tightly, tears streaming silently down his cheeks.
The mother pressed her hands to her mouth, whispering prayers of thanks with every breath.
As the process neared completion, Sona stepped forward, sensing residual damage in Shreya’s body.
Her sharp gaze focused on Tayo. "She’s still weak," Sona said telepathically. "We need to strengthen her before she collapses."
Tayo nodded, activating her second ability, Gentle Touch. This skill emitted a softer light, soothing and replenishing Shreya’s depleted energy.
The golden glow enveloped her entirely, infusing her with vitality. Her breathing steadied, and the frailty that had clung to her like a shadow began to dissipate.
Moments later, Shreya opened her eyes fully, blinking in confusion as her surroundings came into focus. She looked at Tayo and Sona, her lips trembling as she whispered, "Am I... free?"
Sona stepped back, allowing Tayo to answer. "Yes," Tayo said softly, her smile warm. "You’re free now."
At that moment, Shreya’s parents rushed into the room, unable to hold back any longer. Sona, ever vigilant, raised a hand to stop them momentarily.
"Wait," she said firmly. "She’s not fully recovered yet. Give her a moment."
They hesitated, nodding reluctantly, as Tayo completed the final steps of the healing process.
The golden light surrounding Shreya slowly faded, leaving her lying peacefully on the bed, her humanity restored.
Outside, the sky began to clear, the dense clouds parting to reveal a brilliant sunbeam that pierced through the hospital windows. The Chapter ended on this note of hope, the first of many victories to come.
