Chapter 179: News from Mikasa

Chapter: A New Resolve

The faint glow of dawn began to pierce through the night sky, casting its first gentle hues over the quiet city.

Inside Adam’s room, peace prevailed. He lay sprawled on his bed, the soft morning breeze drifting through the slightly open window.

Outside, the distant chirping of birds heralded the start of a new day.

Despite the calm, Adam’s mind was not entirely at rest.

A streak of orange light filtered through the curtain, brushing against his face, coaxing him out of his slumber.

The clock on his nightstand blinked—6:00 AM. The quiet hum of technology filled the room as Adam’s phone, positioned neatly on his desk, lit up.

The familiar avatar of Pratham appeared on the screen, poised to wake him up as programmed.

But before the alarm could sound, Adam stirred, sitting upright in his bed.

His sharp gaze fell on the glowing screen, and a smile crept onto his face.

"I missed this," Adam muttered to himself, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "It feels good to wake up on my own again."

Pratham’s holographic form flickered to life. "Lord Adam, it’s truly a moment of pride to see you wake without assistance. You’ve grown stronger in every way."

Adam chuckled as he swung his legs over the edge of the bed.

His movements were deliberate yet relaxed, signaling a newfound peace within him. "Give me five minutes," he said, rising from the bed. "In the meantime, wake Tayo."

Pratham gave a slight bow from the confines of the phone’s screen. "As you command." His voice was calm yet brimming with purpose.

Beside Adam, Tayo stirred, her golden form tucked under a silken blanket. Pratham’s voice called to her gently. "Miss Tayo, it’s time to rise."

The sun-spirit groaned softly, her glowing hair catching the faint morning light. She fluttered upward, her tiny wings stretching as she yawned. "Thank you, Pratham," she murmured, her voice still heavy with sleep.

---

A few moments later, Adam emerged from his room, his steps purposeful. His tousled hair now combed back, his athletic gear neatly in place.

Picking up his phone, he looked at Pratham’s animated avatar. "Alright, let’s start the day with something productive."

Tayo buzzed to his side, now fully awake and brimming with energy. "I’m ready! What’s the plan today?"

The trio headed outdoors. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of dew and earth. The world around them was just beginning to stir.

Adam began his jog, his steady breaths matching the rhythm of his footsteps.

Pratham offered instructions as they moved. "We’ll add a few additional drills today, Lord Adam. These will focus on building both stamina and precision. Afterward, we’ll intensify the meditation sequence."

Tayo chimed in, zipping around him. "I’ll make sure he doesn’t slack off!"

The exercises were rigorous, each step pushing Adam’s limits. His muscles strained with the effort, but he welcomed the challenge.

Sweat beaded on his brow as Pratham introduced a series of advanced stretches, each designed to improve flexibility and endurance.

By the time they transitioned to meditation, Adam’s breathing was controlled, his mind focused.

Pratham and Tayo worked in harmony, ensuring the environment around him remained undisturbed.

---

After their session, Adam returned home, his energy replenished and his mind clear.

As he stepped into the house, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm toast greeted him.

His parents, Rachel and Ricky, were seated at the dining table, their faces lighting up when they saw him.

"Adam," Rachel began, her tone a mix of concern and exasperation, "how many times have we told you? The city isn’t completely safe yet. You shouldn’t wander off so early in the morning."

Adam raised his hands defensively. "Mom, I didn’t go far. Just a quick jog around the block."

Ricky sighed, setting down his cup of coffee. "You know we just want you to be careful, son. There’s too much uncertainty out there."

Adam nodded, offering them a reassuring smile. "I understand. I’ll be more cautious, I promise."

With that, he retreated to his room.

As Adam entered, he found Sona perched on the windowsill, her delicate blue wings shimmering in the morning light. Her small arms were crossed, her expression a mix of frustration and hurt.

"Lord Adam," she began, her voice laced with indignation, "why did you leave me behind? Everyone else went, but not me."

Adam sighed, approaching her. "I thought you needed more rest. You’ve been working so hard lately."

Sona huffed, turning her back to him. Her wings fluttered, emphasizing her annoyance. Adam chuckled softly and was about to respond when a familiar voice interrupted.

Pratham’s holographic form flickered as Mikasa’s voice emerged. "Lord Adam," she began, her tone urgent,

"I’ve located the remaining vampires. One of them is your classmate, Shreya. She’s currently in a hospital in City Zee, along with her parents. They’ve been by her side since the incident, but her condition hasn’t improved."

Adam’s expression shifted, his brow furrowing with concern. "Shreya..." he whispered, memories of his classmate flashing through his mind.

"She’s in critical condition," Mikasa continued. "Her parents are deeply worried, but there’s been no sign of recovery."

Adam took a deep breath, his resolve hardening. "It’s time," he said, his voice steady and determined. "We need to act. The remaining vampires must be turned back into humans."

Pratham’s avatar nodded. "Understood, Lord Adam. Shall I begin the preparations?"

"Yes," Adam replied firmly. "We can’t afford to wait any longer. Let’s make sure everything is ready."

Sona, who had been listening silently, finally turned around. Her earlier frustration had melted away, replaced by determination. "I want to help," she said, her voice soft but resolute.

Adam looked at her, a small smile breaking through his serious expression. "Of course, Sona. I’ll need all of you by my side for this mission."

The morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow across the room.

Adam stood there, gazing outside as the world began to stir.

His thoughts were focused, his heart steady. This mission was more than a task—it was a step toward redemption, for himself and those who had suffered.

A new Chapter in his journey was about to unfold, one filled with challenges, hope, and an unyielding determination to set things right.
