Yami’s protective instincts flared, her expression tightening. She glanced at Tayo, who hovered obediently by Adam’s side. "So, you’re saying you trust me enough to stay behind and guard your creation?"

Adam inclined his head. "Exactly. I wouldn’t leave her with anyone else."

For a moment, Yami didn’t respond. Then, she sighed and gave a nod of reluctant acceptance. "Fine. I’ll stay, but only because I trust you to keep Ani safe." She reached out and gently cupped Tayo in her hands, the gentle sheen of the small body glinting against Yami’s fingers.
