I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 94 - 93: Change
Chapter 94: Chapter 93: Change
Min Li’s scouts, sent to survey the path, returned around 5 p.m.
They had identified a route to climb the mountain and were planning to come back to fetch climbing ropes and iron wedges to open a path for the advance infiltration troops.
Wei Tianyang found a secluded place to slip into objective reality and flew for four hours to reach the mountain Li Songyan was on.
After cutting out, silence surrounded him, a cold wind howled, three sleeping bags were shaking...
Were there three people?
Something felt off, and looking down the mountain, he saw a convoy stuck at the apex of a U-shaped bend, where a few soldiers beside the leading two BTR armored personnel carriers were cleaning up their comrades’ bodies.
Had the combat ended?
But those people below definitely weren’t Li Songyan.
Killed?
It was highly likely, given that Li Songyan had no superpowers; if there were one or two partially developed abilities among the transport squad and they happened to discover Li Songyan, he would definitely be in grave danger.
Wei Tianyang didn’t fly down, but instead decided to follow the narrow path along the mountain side to check, as if Li Songyan were to descend, he could only take this route.
He wanted to figure out what had happened here.
As soon as he reached the beginning of the trail, he noticed signs of combat.
There were three pits in total, and the ground was strewn with blackened blood and mud, clearly from some kind of explosive.
Hand grenades?
A chill ran through Wei Tianyang’s heart; Li Songyan was likely dead—the enemy had not only discovered him but had also given him a little "surprise."
However, there wasn’t much blood; it seemed this explosion hadn’t taken him.
Wei Tianyang continued down the path, where a large pool of blood and a severed arm appeared...
Indeed... the hand was blasted off.
He prodded the severed arm with his foot; it was part of a right forearm clutching the handle of a Type 90 assault rifle.
He couldn’t yet determine whether the arm was Li Songyan’s, given there were three sleeping bags.
Signs of the body being dragged were found on the ground, and a section of the adjacent mountain wall was scorched black. He walked a few more steps around a bend, and a thick iron plate came into view, wedged horizontally into the mountain...
Could someone control the iron plate to fly and use it as a dart?
He quickly deduced that only the Superpower Special Department or those with partially developed abilities could perform such feats.
Li Songyan was certainly dead.
Wei Tianyang shook his head, deciding it was no longer worth the time to check further. He entered objective reality, transformed into a moth, and flew down to the base of the mountain.
The transport squadron had yet to move, and about eleven or twelve silhouettes were frozen on the scene.
Wei Tianyang settled atop the lead truck, exited objective reality, and looked down at the armed personnel moving below.
Near the rear military vehicle, painful cries of a man and a woman echoed — it was Li Songyan and Lin Yanqing?!
Li Songyan was leaning against the military vehicle’s large tire, his right leg covered in blood. A soldier was smashing his forehead with the butt of a gun, then stomped on the wounded leg.
Li Songyan grimaced, biting back a grunt. Just as his body began to tilt and fall, another soldier grabbed his shoulder and forcibly straightened him.
Lin Yanqing, stripped to her vest, was held and brutally beaten; her face was bruised red and purple, and after several hits to her stomach, she bent down and vomited.
Next to them lay a headless corpse.
"Who sent you?!" Iron King stood before them, shouting loudly and fiddling with a dagger in his hand.
"Fuck your grandfather! I’m from the United Coalition Counci...argh!" Before Li Songyan could finish, he was brutally struck across the face with the butt of the gun.
He bent his head, spitting out a bloodied tooth.
Iron King squatted before him, smiling as he looked at him and said, "Watch closely now, let me show you a magic trick."
He released the dagger, controlling it with his ability to hover in front of Li Songyan.
Then, the blade of the dagger plunged downward, fiercely embedding itself in Li Songyan’s mangled leg.
Li Songyan threw his head back and screamed, clenching his teeth and staring wide-eyed at the sky, passing out from the pain within seconds.
Iron King chuckled softly, leaving the dagger embedded and turned to face Lin Yanqing.
"Tsk~ you little bitch, talk fast—who are you? Where are you from? Do you know Wei Tianyang?!" Iron King said.
Lin Yanqing spat in Iron King’s face.
Iron King laughed, wiped the spit off with his hand, and tasted it.
"So eager to French kiss me? You’re really impatient, aren’t you? Strip her pants off—I’ll deal with her now," Iron King chuckled.
"You’re dead!" Lin Yanqing said furiously.
Iron King silently laughed and pushed his finger into her wounded belly. The scabbed black wound was harshly dug out, revealing white flesh oozing blood, and he crudely shoved his finger into the wound.
"Ahh!! Ahhhhh!!!" Lin Yanqing’s anguish turned her face green as she screamed.
"Keep screaming. Scream your throat sore; it’s useless. It’s just us in these wild mountains. Ha ha ha ha!" Iron King laughed.
The soldiers holding Lin Yanqing began to unbuckle her pants.
Just then, finally, a soldier noticed someone standing on top of the truck.
"Who are you?!" The soldier yelled.
Iron King’s eyes widened, and he quickly turned to look, subconsciously manipulating the unused metal sheets on the truck’s cargo trailer.
He saw a young man standing on the truck’s roof, looking at him expressionlessly.
Even though they were more than ten meters apart, Iron King could still see the red glint in the young man’s eyes.
So bright... like a laser light...
"Oh, ****!" Iron King realized—it might, possibly, probably be Wei Tianyang... If it really was him, he had exposed his vulnerability.
Although the young man was unarmed and not as tall as himself, Iron King didn’t see him as harmless; instead, he felt enormous pressure upon first seeing him.
The metal sheets flew up, one shot straight for Wei Tianyang, and two others curved to block his retreat.
Clang!
Four metal sheets converged from four directions, smashing onto the truck’s front, slicing the cab into three sections.
However, Wei Tianyang had vanished.
In a blink, he appeared right in front of him...
"Oh ****..." Iron King was stunned, and just as he moved, he felt a chill in his stomach.
Before he could react, his chest, arms, and neck also hurt badly. Five dark shadows swept upwards across his field of vision, and then it all went dark.
Iron King lay in four pieces on the ground.
A black mist of blood rose and twirled around Wei Tianyang’s right arm.
The two soldiers holding Lin Yanqing reacted quickly, reaching for their pistols, but Wei Tianyang had already disappeared again.
Next, they were dismembered meticulously, evenly scattered in the dirt.
Lin Yanqing, clutching her waist wound, knelt on the ground as sparse gunfire came from the direction of a BTR transporter.
Wei Tianyang turned to look toward the truck where soldiers were returning fire.
He spread his palm and extended the barrel of an AK47, releasing a burst of gunfire. The soldiers quickly took cover behind the vehicle.
Then, he teleported to the right side of the BTR transporter, grabbed the chassis with his right hand, and with a surge from his heart, he lifted the ten-ton BTR, flipping it over. The armored vehicle crushed the soldiers behind it, then rolled half a turn on the road and crashed into a mountain side, splashing a large swath of blood.
The power of the Iron King stirred restlessly within him as Wei Tianyang’s eyes flickered with red light. He looked at the overturned BTR and felt a stirring in his heart, a sensation similar to when he had killed Mud Man.
He clenched his right fist, sensing all the iron-containing items around him... both hard and soft, quite contradictory.
Looking at the overturned BTR, he merely frowned, and the vehicle was "lifted" by his will.
He turned to look at the other vehicles.
How many could he control? Merely thinking about it, the iron in the truck’s front and the cargo container, along with three other trucks in the back, began to creak and slowly floated up more than half a meter.
However... Wei Tianyang also felt immense mental pressure.
Controlling iron was much more taxing than controlling dirt, but it shouldn’t be this strenuous if he were controlling only one item.
He took a breath, lowered all the vehicles, then returned to Lin Yanqing, seeing that she could still move. He went to check on Li Songyan’s injuries.
His right lower leg, from the foot to just below the knee, was split in two, and half a foot was blown off; it probably couldn’t be saved and would need amputation.
Moreover, in this desolate wilderness, it wasn’t possible to treat him; it seemed his life might end here.
Just as Wei Tianyang was about to speak, he felt—not just his ability to control iron—but also a faint change in his body. He stood silently, experiencing this indistinct transformation.
Finally, his gaze focused on his own left leg.
