The White King shook his head and said, "Time went backwards."

Lin Yan ran to the stone and touched it with her hands, marveling audibly.

The White King hadn’t reassembled the stone; he had reversed its time to before it was pulverized.

Suddenly, Lin Yan discovered a blind spot.

"Eh?! So... won’t the stone turn into powder again soon?" Lin Yan said.

"What is time?" the White King asked, looking down.

He could control time, and yet he didn’t know what it was?

But then it dawned on her; time is a concept created by humans. It was normal for him not to know, perhaps he called it something else.

Lin Yan said, "Time is the past, present, and future of the stone."

"What are the past and the present?" the White King continued to ask.

"Ah... it’s like... before and after the stone breaks. I don’t know if you understand what I’m saying," Lin Yan said.

The White King nodded, "The stone’s story."

"Story? It’s not a story, I mean, the state of the stone," Lin Yan corrected.

"This is, the stone’s story," White King said.

"Time and stories aren’t the same concept," Lin Yan insisted.

"There is no time, only stories, it’s all like this. I have seen a lot, the stone too," the White King squinted his eyes as if disputing.

Now Lin Yan’s desire for scientific debate flared up, "A story has a beginning and an end, but it’s not the same as time. Time, for us humans, is irreversible and always moves forward, but you can reverse it, I think you can give us more knowledge about time."

In the darkness, Lin Yan saw Wei Tianyang’s four red eyeballs glowing, incidentally illuminating his lower eyelids, and yet Lin Yan did not realize that her own eyes were also flashing a blue light at that moment.

"You’re... like me now," Wei Tianyang smiled.
