I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 535 - 533: Assassination
Chapter 535: Chapter 533: Assassination
Wang Ye saw Wei Tianyang throw the rifle aside, then he began to strip off his bulletproof vest and all the communication equipment one by one.
He unfastened the button at his neckline, shook his right hand, and the bandages fluttered away. Dense, saw-toothed spikes extended from the outer sides of his arms, piercing through his clothes, his skin slowly turning black. His eyes lit up like alarm lamps, and the concrete ground beneath his feet crackled, obviously unable to bear his weight.
Wang Ye took a few steps back, no longer able to convince himself that the man in front of him was still human.
"What... what exactly are you now?" Wang Ye asked.
Wei Tianyang didn’t answer, just smiled, then his body lightly drifted up into the sky. Facing Wang Ye, he flew up over 20 meters before turning around to accelerate away.
Wang Ye only saw him flying very fast, instantly shrinking to a dot, then breaking the sound barrier in mid-air, erupting in a burst of white flash and a dull sonic boom.
At that moment, a pilot’s voice came through the earpiece.
"Yishenmali?! Can you hear me? This is Moby Dick," the pilot urgently said.
"This is Yishenmali, loud and clear," Wang Ye responded.
"Thank God! Yishenmali! Yaha hasn’t responded to us, do you know what’s happening to him?" the pilot asked.
"He flew away," Wang Ye shook his head.
"Flew away? He left?!" the pilot exclaimed in shock.
"I don’t know what he flew off to do, but he was heading for the Death Knight," Wang Ye said.
"Oh... Heavenly Father bless... May Heavenly Father bless us all," the pilot said.
At that moment, through the distance, Wang Ye saw the Death Knight kneeling on one knee, the ground also trembling and shaking. He staggered a few steps, lowering his stance.
Wei Tianyang was then floating in front of that giant being, which obediently kneeled on one knee, bowing its head towards him.
"I did what you asked," the giant being communicated.
"Yes, I saw," Wei Tianyang communicated back.
This creature, so weak.
Its methods of violence were purely physical, the dark gas clouds merely simple mist and those accompanying bat-men were nothing more than flesh, devoid of transformation abilities or any additional superpowers, possessing only a huge physical body.
It wasn’t very efficient at killing.
Wei Tianyang looked at it, extending one hand.
The giant being thought it was being acknowledged, lifted its head, and Wei Tianyang’s face emerged smoothly on its face.
Then, hundreds of thousands of intersecting grid lines appeared on its huge face and purple liquid burst out within the next 2 seconds; a second later, the head shattered into hundreds of thousands of tiny white pieces of flesh.
Those pieces fell like rain, raining down, leaving only its huge body still kneeling in front of Wei Tianyang.
"You have not earned my approval," Wei Tianyang sighed.
The giant’s body collapsed, crushing a large area of buildings and flyovers; then, its body turned into a large mass of black vapor, all of it absorbed by Wei Tianyang.
At that moment, he felt a peculiar sense of control. The features on his face began to distort, suddenly transforming into Zhao Ling, then Yaha, and at one point, his entire head turned into Baphomet’s ram head...
He returned to his own appearance, looked towards the sky, and then whooshed away, leaving no trace behind.
Wang Ye only saw the giant being kneel, then its head exploded... followed by it falling down, turning into a pool of black mist, which then all surged towards a point and disappeared.
He didn’t understand what the scene meant, but the combat camera on his shoulder had recorded all the images.
"Yishenmali! This is Moby Dick! Danger is cleared! We’re coming to take you home," the pilot contacted him, and from a distance, the helicopter rotor blades slicing through the air could be heard.
When he boarded the plane, it was dawn, and Wang Ye stared at the rising sun, reminiscing about the last words Wei Tianyang had said, as well as his own childhood experiences.
He sighed, placing two Gauss rifles at the side of the cabin, one of which had been discarded by Wei Tianyang.
Back at the base, the Rangers all applauded him; they didn’t seem to care much that Wei Tianyang hadn’t returned with him. Mike Tangli warmly shook his hand, and his colleagues from the Black Medicine Army, Da Gu and Schweinsteiger, hugged him and hailed him as a hero. The commander seriously praised, "All this deserves a Medal for Distinguished Service."
He had done nothing—he understood that, so Wang Ye was not particularly pleased, instead feeling confused and irritable.
At daybreak, three black sedans drove into the camp. The council’s agents found him and took his combat camera. After that, people from the White House contacted the battalion, and the President decided to meet him.
He probably napped briefly, took a shower, and at 12 noon, he was taken by a military helicopter to the Federal State Guard base, where he transferred to Air Force One and headed to Georgetown.
What happened next felt like a dream—Wang Ye had never experienced such treatment in his life. He was arranged to stay at a five-star hotel that only received government officials. Acting Chairman Pence met him and presented him with the Medal for Distinguished Service. In the afternoon, he met and shook hands with several ministers he had never even seen before at the council headquarters.
In the evening, a government limousine took him to the White House. Dressed in a clean military uniform, he met with the federal president.
President Laischette met with him in the office, shook hands, and a crowd of reporters recorded an abundance of 3D videos and sensory photos with AR devices. Then, surrounded by a group, he moved to the south lawn of the White House, where a small podium had been set up. Under watchful eyes, Wang Ye received the Heroism Medal from the President.
Holding the medal, Wang Ye felt that it might not be much more significant than the coins in his pocket, engraved with Western characters he did not recognize, along with an image of a bald eagle and two crossed swords.
It didn’t look like it was made of gold.
"Once again, thank you for your great contribution in this operation, Mr. Wang Ye." The President concluded, then applauded.
Wang Ye gazed numbly at the audience below without saying a word.
Night fell.
The President and the Army staff appeared in the conference room. Wei Tianyang had demanded their promise; now, it was time to fulfill it.
"I do not intend to keep my promise, nor do I wish to break it, so tell me, do you have a 100% certainty that you killed him?" said the President.
"I have drafted four operational plans, progressing sequentially; if one fails, we initiate the next," the staff replied.
"This sounds reassuring. Now, what is your plan," asked the President.
An AR map appeared on the conference table, showing a panoramic view of Etolia in Heiside State, with Felda City marked in red.
"The Pei Guode Hotel is right here. His biggest trump cards are teleportation and large-scale erasure. We can’t afford such a blow, so we must ensure he is killed immediately or at least predict his teleportation target. So my plan is to strike him first, then bomb the Pei Guode Hotel. If the first strike misses and something happens to the Pei Guode Hotel, there’s a high probability he’ll teleport to the hotel, allowing us to launch a second strike," explained the staff.
"What if he doesn’t teleport to the hotel? We can’t bear his retaliation," said the President.
"The chances of him abandoning the hotel are slight, but if it does happen, I have a contingency plan. I’ve arranged a bunker and disguised the command transmission site for a nuclear strike. When the time comes, he will either go to the hotel or track down the person who initiated the attack for retaliation. The general range of his teleport is controllable," the staff said.
"I like this plan; it is foolproof," replied the President.
Suddenly, they could neither speak nor move, as if something was stuck in their throats and holding their bodies.
At that moment, the door to the conference room opened, and Spencer along with several bodyguards walked in.
They all wore memetic blocking masks, and Spencer was holding a small cage containing a piece of black, decayed flesh.
Spencer nodded to the bodyguards, who then drew their pistols and shot everyone in the room.
He then ordered the bodyguards to finish the job, not stopping until the bodies’ heads were utterly destroyed, and only then was he satisfied.
"Fools—this room full of people almost caused the Federation to perish," Spencer said coldly.
