I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 504 - 502: Escape

Chapter 504: Chapter 502: Escape

Spencer’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat.

He thought for two seconds, then immediately hung up the phone.

"Cadena! Cadena!" he urgently called for his secretary.

The white-clothed secretary pushed the door open and looked at Spencer.

"Prepare the car, use the security channel, but do not sound the alarm," Spencer said.

The secretary, puzzled, nodded and complied.

Spencer turned and went behind his desk, reaching under the table to press a button. Minutes later, a dozen agents rushed into the room.

"Exit through the back door, don’t clump the vehicles together," Spencer instructed.

Then, he and the agents descended via the security elevator, leaving the research institute.

Six SUVs took to the streets of Georgetown under the cover of nightfall, heading out of the city. Spencer connected to the foundation’s spy satellite using his laptop, beginning the search for Wei Tianyang in the skies over the Sethiyan Federation.

He could now be sure that Wei Tianyang must have located his exact position through someone else calling his name. Although the secretary had already sent out an email, it wasn’t enough.

He didn’t doubt the self-control of the other foundation members, but people always make mistakes. Taking Leona as a warning, such a mistake, even just once, could bring catastrophic damage to the foundation.

Wei Tianyang only needed to make contact with one person, and then parts of the foundation’s facilities and plans, as well as information about other members, would be leaked.

Leona had already been killed by him, and his research institute had been exposed. She knew most of the foundation’s facilities and projects, thinking about this made Spencer’s heart bleed.

Wei Tianyang had still not found him and was most likely checking each location one by one... If they didn’t keep moving, they would eventually be caught.

Spencer stared at the screen, trying to control the satellite to search for high-speed objects with a diameter less than 2 meters yet more than 1 meter. His fingers trembled as he tapped on the keyboard.

What kind of fear and despair was this? He had survived many assassination attempts in his life and dealt with politicians, but he had never faced a superhuman. Over the past few years, Spencer had noticed changes in Wei Tianyang and had become disillusioned with him.

But why hadn’t he prepared a contingency against him? Spencer now constantly blamed himself, regretting not having prepared a countermeasure against Wei Tianyang earlier. If he had been prepared, he would not be in such a dire situation now!

The satellite was retrieving data; Georgetown at night, under the satellite’s high-powered night vision telescope, appeared as a patch of dark green.

More than ten seconds later, the satellite captured over six hundred targets, and after some filtering, Spencer found Wei Tianyang.

"Mr. Spencer, which safe house should we go to?" the driver asked.

He thought for a moment and said, "No. 2. Head to Ezekiel’s place."

Leona didn’t know about this safe house.

He looked up out the window; the vehicle had already left the urban area, driving onto the interstate highway.

The satellite continuously tracked Wei Tianyang, the tiny green dot on the spectrum maintaining a speed of Mach 20 as it flew over Georgetown.

Spencer knew he was using Leona’s memory to search each of the foundation’s facilities for him.

Maybe they would die...

But it didn’t matter anymore. Those people weren’t core members of the foundation, they didn’t know much. Even with Leona, Spencer had not disclosed the most core secrets of the foundation to her.

Everything had changed; he had a premonition that from tonight, the world would enter a new phase.

Wei Tianyang landed in the spacious courtyard of the research institute. The front yard featured a beautiful lawn and the building was not very tall; for Spencer, it seemed rather plain.

He entered through the front door, making an effort to appear polite, but the security guards at the entrance quickly ran toward the elevator.

Then, red lights flashed throughout the building, and the white lobby was bathed in a blood-red light while the piercing alarm bell continuously resounded.

This scene reminded him of that underground morgue, stirring an inexplicable restlessness in his heart.

With his red pupils scanning the scene, hundreds of people were still bustling around inside the building, and a secret tunnel several kilometers long lay beneath, with exits several streets away.

A safety passage?

Wei Tianyang sneered and then, with a thought, the entire building began to shake.

This nine-story white building was like a nail driven into the ground, its foundation and the underground research facilities below enveloped by rocks and dirt, resembling a muddy garlic bulb slowly being pulled out by Wei Tianyang.

The building slowly ascended, and Wei Tianyang stood quietly in the lobby on the first floor. He saw people on the second and third floors trying to jump out of the windows to escape but they abandoned the idea when they saw the building rise from the ground. Wei Tianyang then gave them a push with the air, and several bodies with broken spines were added to the deep pit below.

Floating midair more than 200 meters up, Wei Tianyang walked up the fire escape. When he appeared in the corridor, the panicked people all ran into rooms to hide.

He twisted open a door, randomly grabbed a researcher, and read their memories, finding Spencer’s secretary.

He then went straight to the ninth floor and in Spencer’s office, he caught the desperate woman.

As the woman opened her mouth to speak, Wei Tianyang put his finger to his lips, signaling her to be quiet.

Then, he stepped forward and grabbed her arm.

Memories surged. Spencer had been here just two hours earlier but had run away like a coward.

Moreover, he seemed to have realized something and had his secretary send emails to everyone in the Federation, instructing them not to mention his name anymore.

"Your boss has abandoned you, how sad," said Wei Tianyang.

"Don’t kill us! We are just doing our job for the money," the secretary pleaded.

Wei Tianyang laughed and said, "Of course I won’t kill you, of course not."

After speaking, he went to the underground section where some drug testing was being conducted. Wei Tianyang grabbed another researcher, read their memories, and found that this institute’s research was of little value to him.

These people were not core members of the Federation; they knew very little, so the secretary had said they were just working for money.

No one knew where Spencer had gone, and he had even left without taking his female secretary.

Wei Tianyang felt somewhat disappointed. Was Spencer’s act considered a betrayal?

In any case, for various reasons, he had decided to distance himself, and it even seemed like he wanted to confront Wei Tianyang.

Wei Tianyang sighed. He had been to several of Spencer’s bases in Georgetown, and now he was sure the old man had already run out of Georgetown; there was no need to stay here anymore.

Run, old man, run. How big is the earth, after all? You wanted me to become what, the god of humanity? No, that’s not what you thought, old man... it’s you! You want to be the god of humanity! You just wanted to use me as your tool to ascend to kingship!

There is only one god.

Wei Tianyang flew away from the building, shooting up ten thousand meters into the sky. Without his power to control it, the building, along with hundreds of screaming people, crashed to the ground from 200 meters up.
