Chapter 48: Chapter 47 Trouble Not Too Much to Handle
The officer’s face broke into a mocking smile tinged with disbelief, he uttered an "Ah?" and then lowered the gun barrel to Wei Tianyang’s thigh, his eyes vicious, his left cheek twitching, his mouth twisted rightward into a cruel grin.
"You want a bomb? You motherless bastard, quite the funny talker, aren’t you?" the officer chuckled.
The next second.
The guerrillas twice thudded with their daggers, opening bloody holes in the necks of the guards.
Before the officer could regain his senses, his trigger finger had dropped to the ground.
"Ouch!!" The officer screamed in agony, tossed away the beautiful silver semi-automatic pistol, and clutched at the severed finger.
Meanwhile, Li Bin stabbed the officer under his arm, grabbing his shoulder, forcing him to kneel on the ground.
The female secretary was just about to get up when her head bumped into Du Yan’s gun muzzle, she couldn’t see Du Yan, but she felt the killing intent and the hard contact on the top of her head made it clear she was being held at gunpoint by something invisible.
She maintained a rigid posture of attempting to rise but unable, watching in the room as the four guards seemingly had their throats cut from nowhere, blood spraying five steps away, collapsing onto the ground, gasping painfully, and ultimately suffocating to death.
Five steps ahead, the officer knelt before Wei Tianyang like a marionette, trembling.
And Wei Tianyang, he had not moved a finger.
"What about the people downstairs?" Kacha said.
Yaha picked up her phone, quietly giving a few instructions.
Outside the hotel...
Five young men and women carrying fruits and drinks walked out of the entrance, waving to the three military vehicles near the fountain.
Several soldiers were casually talking beside their jeeps. Seeing people approaching, they became alert.
"Hey! They will be talking for a while longer, you must be thirsty, right?" the slightly older girl in a white strap dress smiled at the soldier in the jeep’s driver’s seat.
The soldiers relaxed a bit, exchanged looks, unsure whether to accept the offered food and drinks.
Before they could decide, the young men and women pulled out pistols from behind and fired simultaneously, the soldiers bloodied instantly on the spot.
Then, two men drove a black van from the direction of the underground parking lot, and with the young men and women’s help, dragged all the bodies into the back of the van...
Sporadic gunfire erupted outside the window, followed by the roaring of vehicle engines, and a few minutes later, peace returned, only the wind howling beside the window.
The officer’s heart sank, knowing his end had come.
Yaha put down her phone, turned to the officer, "Seems like when it comes to business, money still calls the shots."
"You dare to kill me? Do you really dare to kill me? You have no idea what you’re doing." The officer, with one arm hanging, still showed no sign of weakness, staring at Wei Tianyang, gritting his teeth as if to chew him up.
Wei Tianyang walked to the desk, picked up Yaha’s mug, and then glanced at the desk, picking up a roll of yellow tape.
He slightly exerted force on his right hand, cracks appeared on the mug, and then with a pop, it shattered into ceramic debris.
Holding a handful of ceramic shards, he walked up to the officer, pinched his cheek, and stuffed it all into his mouth.
Everyone watched, silent.
Wei Tianyang tore off a piece of tape, wrapped it around the officer’s face, then pulled over a stool and sat in front of him.
"Bomb." he said.
The officer turned to look at the female secretary.
Then he received a slap.
It was a slap from Wei Tianyang’s right hand.
It wasn’t that hard, but the officer felt as if he had been struck in the face with a baseball bat.
The ceramic shards in his mouth shattered further, causing burning pain in his upper palate and both cheeks.
"Bomb?"
"Ugh!"
Another blow.
The officer’s mouth was already full of blood. He had a strong urge to swallow it down. He held back for a while, but couldn’t resist any longer, scraping his throat raw.
"Bomb?"
"Mmm! Aaah!!"
Another blow.
The tape couldn’t contain the red spring gushing out; blood seeped through the cracks and hung from the officer’s chin. He was drenched in sweat, his eyes bloodshot and tear-filled.
"I told you not to make him angry," Yaha chuckled.
Wei Tianyang’s right palm slowly clenched into a fist, his patience completely lost.
"You kill him, and you’ll gain nothing."
The female secretary suddenly spoke up, surprisingly in Chicken Snake language.
"This is Chicken Snake Country’s civil war. What’s a Westerner like you doing by his side?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"You think with your half-baked superpowers you can survive long? You’ve already made an enemy of the military," the female secretary said.
"She’s from the Sethiyan Federation, either the National Defense Bureau or the Secret Council. Damn, this civil war indeed has their Shadow," Du Yan said at that moment.
"Miss Yaha, your connections... they’re not enough to let you meddle in a civil war and stand by indifferently. Geopolitical strategy is a big game, and you freaks can’t even get into the game basket," the female secretary scoffed.
Yaha’s expression slightly changed.
"This is no longer about petty squabbles. We’ll retaliate against you. Just wait, that..."
Before the female secretary could finish, Du Yan fired a gun.
The gunshot was so sudden; everyone except Wei Tianyang was unprepared and jumped.
The female secretary hadn’t finished speaking. A spray of blood burst from her temple, her head tilted, and she slumped onto the sofa.
Wei Tianyang looked at the officer again and sighed deeply.
Li Bin expressionless, skillfully slid his dagger across the officer’s throat. The blood did not squirt as expected, but still flowed significantly.
He lay sideways on the floor, one hand on his neck, the other trying to tear the tape from his mouth, attempting to breathe. None was successful; he curled on the floor, struggling for a while before falling still.
Wei Tianyang stood up, looking at the blood-streaked floor, the carpet stained a deep black.
"Damn... my sofa..." Yaha got up, picked up a rubber band from the table, put it in his mouth, and went to tie up his long hair.
After securing his hair into a high ponytail, he leaned forward with his hands on the table, eyeing the six bodies in the room, his mind racing.
"Ishmael, we might really be in trouble," he whispered.
"We were always here to cause trouble. One more isn’t a big deal. We’re already the dead who climbed up from Hell; no trouble is too big," Wei Tianyang said gravely.
"I know, I’m not blaming you. I’m just thinking... how to get the bomb over here," Yaha smiled.
The corners of Wei Tianyang’s mouth also slightly lifted.
"We can help. The fool’s lair isn’t far from He Mountain, probably has around a hundred people under him. If he stores the bombs there, it will be easy," Li Bin put away his knife, laughing.
"How many people are with you?" Wei Tianyang looked around at the packed guerrillas.
Kacha exchanged looks with Yaha and Starbucks...
"We can send out a dozen to fight. I know what you’re thinking, but a frontal assault isn’t Style of the Shadow’s style," Yaha said.
Du Yan burst out laughing.
"In the Red House, there are a thousand guerrillas."
