Chapter 465: Chapter 463: Thrilling or Not

Wang Ye felt himself collide with something above, then rebounded to the ground as a hot wave surged up his throat.

He couldn’t help it and spat out a mouthful. Through the green tint of his night vision goggles, he couldn’t tell if what he spat out was food or blood.

Then, he heard gunshots as everyone started to shout, "Contact!"

At that time, Price staggered over, grabbed the strap of Wang Ye’s bulletproof vest, and dragged him behind a shipping container.

"Retreat!" he said as he pulled.

Wang Ye raised his gun, lying on his side, scanning everywhere. Finally, he saw a shadow not far away.

The man was probably one hundred ninety centimeters tall, wearing only a pair of underwear, with a well-built body like a professional bodybuilder. But the muscles on his body were abnormally hard. When his teammates’ bullets hit him, they ping-ponged off as if striking the bulkhead of a ship.

The man walked towards the 5.56mm bullets, knocking down a teammate with a single punch, and in the HUD, a green dot of a life signal was extinguished forever.

At this moment, someone threw a shock grenade.

Boom!

Everyone was thrown to the ground, and Wang Ye’s ears rang with a piercing screech.

Suddenly, a Mohawk-led team burst in, dragging a teammate from the ground up the stairs, while Team A provided covering fire above.

"Is it a superpower soldier?!" Mohawk asked.

"No! He is Black Medicine! Their cargo is him!" Price shouted.

He pulled Wang Ye up from the ground and then threw a flash grenade.

"Flash grenade!!!" he yelled.

Wang Ye quickly removed his night vision goggles and turned away.

The pitch-black cabin suddenly lit up like daylight, and then darkness returned.

Price had already led the way to the stairwell when unexpectedly, the black man burst through the shipping container and charged straight at them.

Wang Ye saw this and quickly grabbed Price, jumping down the stairs and tucking into the side.

The next second, a violent collision sounded from behind, and a teammate screamed in agony.

Turning around, Wang Ye saw the teammate trapped up to the waist by the shipping container, crushed into pulp, while the black man climbed onto the corridor by following the container.

He took a hand grenade from his chest, pulled the pin, and yelled, "Hand grenade!"

Before the words were finished, he threw it with all his might, feeling searing pain in his chest, which made him suspect that his ribs might have been broken.

The blast ripped open the hatch, and the black man, with his arms crossed over his chest, took the blow head-on but was also dashed away by the shockwave, landing on the lower level.

"Quick, quick!! Retreat! We can’t handle this!" Price called out.

They tried their best to lift the surviving teammates, climbing onto the shipping containers, with people above reaching out to pull everyone up.

Pain surged in Wang Ye’s chest. His hands grasped the edge of the container, but he couldn’t muster any strength. Price pushed him up from below while Mohawk pulled him from above.

Halfway up, Wang Ye knelt on the container to catch his breath, tasting a metallic tang in his mouth. He touched it and felt it was blood.

Meanwhile, the black man had climbed onto another container, his eyes glowing in the dark. Through his night vision goggles, his pupils appeared white.

"Damn it! Here it comes again! Quick, throw another shock grenade!!" the man with the cap and big beard yelled.

Two shock grenades were thrown down from above. Wang Ye covered his ears and lay down. After two sonic booms, he felt someone pulling him up. Thinking it was Mohawk, he opened his eyes to look up but saw the ugly face of the black man instead.

"Fuck!" he cursed.

Then, after taking a punch to the chest and spitting out blood, he was casually tossed by the black man and flew halfway across the cabin. After a series of collisions and falls, Wang Ye passed out.

...

He didn’t know how long he had been unconscious when he woke up, half submerged in water. Water was seeping into the cabin, and the red alarm lights were flashing. He took off his night-vision goggles and saw that the ship was already listing.

At that moment, Price’s face appeared before him, his mouth opening and closing, but Wang Ye couldn’t tell what he was doing.

"...Hurry!! It’s sinking!!!"

He paused for a second before he could hear Price’s voice, along with the surrounding alarm and shouting.

Someone had brought a grenade launcher and blasted a big hole in the cabin. He saw seawater gushing in through a crack on the starboard side.

Where was the black man?!

"Get the hell up! Warrior! We’ve got to go!" Price yelled.

Supported by Price, he made his way to the broken staircase, where a bearded man in a cap pulled him up, and it took several people a good deal of effort to drag him up.

By now, the ship had tilted 40 degrees, turning the corridors into slopes. The group hurried along in a panic, pushing open the cabin doors to reach the deck.

The storm raged on unabated, shipping containers on the deck were tipping over, the bow had sunk into the sea, and the stern was slightly raised—an ominous sign of a sinking ship.

"Run! Run!!" The man with the Mohawk was shouting ahead.

Three helicopters had already arrived at the stern, half the people had already boarded, and Wang Ye could see the Barkley sitting on the horizon.

Lightning streaked across the sky, and from the sea near the bow, a dark figure suddenly sprang up.

The black man leaped from the water and landed on the roof of the command tower at the stern.

"Damn it, that guy has nine lives..." Price muttered.

A helicopter flew low, its crew providing covering fire, but the bullets were still largely ineffective. Wang Ye and Price boarded the helicopter, only to see the black man leaping towards them.

The propellers made a piercing noise, as if they had hit something.

In the cabin, everyone looked up and then screamed. In the next second, the helicopter spun around and crashed into the sea.

Wang Ye took in a big gulp of water before sinking into the ocean. He felt bitterly cold and everything was pitch black; he couldn’t tell up from down.

Schweinsteiger was saying something over the channel, but soon there was no sound. He guessed that the man had just been on the surface, but now he must have sunk into the sea as well.

He quickly put on his goggles, using the HUD to determine the direction, and found the surface. Then, in pain, he swam upwards.

As soon as he broke the surface, he saw Price and three other team members floating not far away. They had all discarded their rifles; the weapons were too heavy and would only have dragged them down to drown.

"You’re still alive?! Good! Don’t panic! We’re not going to die!" Price reassured.

"You’re really good at comforting people, Price!" came the Mohawk’s voice over the comm channel.

At this point, the Barkley was approaching them. The men were still looking for the black man’s figure but never saw him again.

"Where’s that son of a bitch?!"

Team A’s helicopter was hovering about ten meters above the sea, with the bearded man in the cap leaning out, a rocket launcher on his shoulder, cursing angrily.

"Probably sank with the helicopter. We’ve lost a lot of people!" Price said.

Wang Ye’s pain was becoming more intense, and he could barely move his arms. At that moment, Schweinsteiger dragged him from behind, preventing him from sinking.

"First mission, hm? Exciting, isn’t it?!" Schweinsteiger rarely smiled, but now he did.

"Fucking thrilling," Wang Ye smiled back.
