I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 367 - 365: To the Universe
Chapter 367: Chapter 365: To the Universe
This was Wei Tianyang’s sixth morning of avoiding the world in Rada Gan’s residence.
He awoke from bed, stared at the ceiling blankly for a while, then got up to wash.
He squeezed some toothpaste, casually turned on the induction cooker, placed the small kettle filled with water on top, and carelessly brushed his teeth in front of the bathroom mirror. He then checked the slight black keratin bump on his forehead before heading out of the bathroom to grind some coffee beans.
Although he usually spent most of his time alone in Yin Country and the Sethiyan Federation, the feeling here was completely different.
There were no bodyguards, no government officials, and although the building was full of people, none of them knew his background. Even though they all followed Rada Gan’s instructions and knew he was not a guest to be trifled with, their obedience was nothing like the respectful subservience of the servants.
The servants would not joke with him, nor greet him; government officials spoke in official jargon when they spoke to him, always with various intentions during every meeting.
And these black guys?
Respectful with their words, mostly rebellious at heart.
During the nights of the past few days, Wei Tianyang could hear, through the walls, the heartbeats of many people. The gang members had split into three groups: one unconditionally followed Rada Gan, one harbored ill-intentions against him, and one was opportunistic, thinking of using him as a stepping stone.
Money could buy people, but it couldn’t buy their hearts.
Wei Tianyang wasn’t planning to do anything to them for now, but he had already decided that once the hotel was completed, he would completely eliminate all of these people from the scene.
He hadn’t told Rada Gan about this idea yet, but he didn’t need to consider his opinion; presumably, Rada Gan had no affection for these gang members either.
He unscrewed the wooden lid, poured in the coffee beans, grabbed the handle, and turned it. The metal blade ground the coffee beans into powder, which fell into the glass container below.
Grinding beans felt good, and Wei Tianyang stood by the window, grinding coffee beans while watching people come and go on the street, enjoying the calm, mundane day-to-day life.
"The horned one."
The familiar feeling came again.
Wei Tianyang turned around to see Baphomet standing behind him, a serious expression faintly visible on his sheep face—was it an illusion?
"What’s wrong? Didn’t I tell you to stay over there to keep Zhao Ling calm?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"Your woman was almost killed." Baphomet communicated telepathically.
Wei Tianyang furrowed his brows, breaking the metal handle of the coffee grinder with a snap.
"How is she now?" he asked.
"Not dead," Baphomet replied.
Wei Tianyang placed the coffee machine on the table and lowered his head, pondering for a moment.
"You stay here," he said.
Baphomet bleated once, walked to the bed, lay down, and stared silently at Wei Tianyang.
Wei Tianyang hung the smartwatch on Baphomet’s horns, then left the room.
Seeing Wei Tianyang gone, Baphomet swiftly jumped onto his bed, spreading his limbs cosily, and rubbed his fluffy back on the sheets, then lay on his side and fell asleep.
Zhao Ling lay in bed, hearing footsteps approaching. With her eyes closed, her left hand stealthily reached under the pillow and quietly unlocked her gun’s safety.
The footsteps paused for a while, and Zhao Ling patiently waited. After a few minutes, there was still silence.
She opened her eyes slightly and saw a figure standing next to the bed.
Initially planning to pull out her gun, her sight became clearer and she saw it was Wei Tianyang. Instantly, all her defenses were dropped, and her eyes moistened slightly.
"Yang..." Zhao Ling called out.
Wei Tianyang sat on the edge of the bed, softly lifting the duvet. Seeing Zhao Ling in a white nightgown without any severe injuries, but pale-faced.
"Why not call the Superpower Special Department to treat you?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"I don’t know who to trust anymore," Zhao Ling said.
Wei Tianyang placed his hand on Zhao Ling, and then transferred all the injuries.
"Eh?!" Zhao Ling was startled.
But she saw Wei Tianyang frown, then he lowered his head and spat out a mouthful of thick blood.
In an instant, her injuries completely healed, and her complexion returned to normal.
Zhao Ling immediately sat up and quickly supported Wei Tianyang.
Wei Tianyang, however, lifted his right hand and gently pinched his fist. She saw his black, crystal-studded, solid right hand shed some fragments, and his condition returned to normal.
In the past, after recovering once from injury, his right hand would turn into a skeleton, but this time it only shed some fragments.
However, after leaving Chicken Snake Country, aside from Baphomet, he really hadn’t been beaten by anyone, and this self-healing ability hadn’t been used for a long time.
Based on the brief pain he felt, Zhao Ling’s injuries were internal... That instant, he felt like he had no strength in his lower body, probably internal organ damage.
"Internal injuries?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"My liver was damaged; I’ve been dragging it out... didn’t undergo transplant surgery. I don’t know who to trust anymore, so I can’t easily call medical resources here," Zhao Ling said.
Wei Tianyang’s hand rested on Zhao Ling’s shoulder as his mind entered her memories. The attack a few days ago was vivid in his eyes; finally, as he fell from the clouds with her, he saw the woman in black clothing.
"Who is that woman?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"Not sure... Only know she’s from the Lingxian Sect. There was also a Heavenly Emperor downstairs; otherwise, I wouldn’t have ended up so badly... your sheep saved me, what exactly is it? It can even traverse objective reality?" Zhao Ling said.
"That thing is still somewhat useful," Wei Tianyang said with a smile.
He stood up and walked to the refrigerator, then asked, "Why did they suddenly make their move?"
"I was about to find their sect’s exact location, maybe they feared this and decided to silence me," Zhao Ling said.
"Did you find it?" Wei Tianyang said with a smile.
"Not yet, the space station you mentioned... I asked experts from all walks, and they all say that kind of technology can’t be realized yet," Zhao Ling shook her head.
"I believe in the memories I saw," Wei Tianyang said.
Zhao Ling also nodded, "I believe you too."
He opened the refrigerator but saw that the bottle containing fruit tea was gone, he was suddenly a bit surprised.
"I didn’t drink it," Zhao Ling said directly.
Wei Tianyang guessed it, he slightly closed his eyes and cursed, "Stupid thing..."
"Yang, I have an idea that might help us find more clues," Zhao Ling suddenly said.
Seeing the mischievously evil smile on her face, Wei Tianyang knew, she wanted to play big again...
Several days later...
Dongquan City Rocket Launch Center...
Dressed in a blue jumpsuit, under the guidance of several workers, Wei Tianyang began to don his spacesuit.
This was Zhao Ling’s plan.
To stuff him into a rocket and shoot him towards the sun.
"That’s the International Space Station, really don’t mess around up there, if you encounter something you don’t understand, don’t touch... just go up there and look with your eyes, hopefully, you’ll find some clues."
That’s what Zhao Ling told him.
