I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 355 - 353: Once Again

Chapter 355: Chapter 353: Once Again

The scorching bullet pierced through Zhou Yun’s lower abdomen, exiting from her left buttock and embedding itself into the leather seat.

She groaned in pain, her body jolted, and she collapsed onto the steering wheel, squinting one eye and grimacing.

In that instant, the bald, burly man’s eyes bulged in fury as he reached out to grab Wang Ye.

Wang Ye pulled out his gun and pressed it right under the man’s chin.

Zhou Yun, using her last bit of strength, lunged at Wang Ye with her body. A gunshot rang out, the bald man yelped oddly as his face twisted, rolling out of the car.

The bullet made a hole in the roof of the car. Zhou Yun tried to wrestle the gun away, but Wang Ye did not give her the chance, blocking her with his left elbow, switching the gun to his other hand, and then fired three shots into her chest, silencing her forever.

Wang Ye opened the car door and got out, seeing the burly man clutching his face, blood trailing behind as he ran.

The shot that Zhou Yun had deflected hit the man’s ear and shattered it.

Wang Ye removed the magazine to check it—six bullets left, seven including the one in the chamber.

The gunfire had not attracted much attention; after all, this was a small-caliber handgun, and in this remote city in Yin Country, many people had never heard gunfire and were thus off guard.

The burly man ran towards a crowded area, already several meters away, Wang Ye lifted his gun and fired two shots, intentionally aiming at the ground to avoid hitting bystanders.

One bullet hit the ground, while another pierced the man’s ankle. His left foot seemed to snap, bending abruptly in place, and he collapsed onto the ground.

Wang Ye chased after him, cautious of any knife the man might have, and stopped three meters away, firing four more shots towards him—two in the back of the head, two in the back.

He quickly ran up to confirm the man was dead, then searched through his pockets, finding a cellphone and a switchblade.

Taking these items, Wang Ye immediately ran towards the subway station.

The six suicide bombers had already reached the platform, and if they managed to board the train, there would be no turning back.

He sprinted down the escalator, shoving past everyone, leaping over the turnstile only to see four staircases leading to the platform. Looking around, he couldn’t spot the suicide bombers who had gone down earlier.

Momentarily unsure what to do, he shouted, "There’s a bomb!!!"

Then, he rushed down the stairs to the platform, which was bustling with people.

Bai Feng City’s subway line had only two routes, gathering most of the commuting workforce at two primary stations. The target station chosen for the terrorist attack indeed housed many enterprises, and after work, the subway station was packed with people heading home.

Wang Ye screamed among the crowd, but the citizens were somewhat dazed. The platform attendant, seeing his hurried demeanor, was just about to approach him for questioning, but then noticed the gun in his hand and the panic on his face.

"There’s a gun!! He has a gun!!"

Someone shouted, and the crowd immediately stirred. Wang Ye decisively tucked the gun into his back waistband, and at that moment, he spotted the four suicide bombers across the platform.

Across the platform?!

Simultaneously, the subway’s incoming tone sounded, and from the distant tunnel came the roar of the train.

"Hey!! Don’t do this! I’ve already killed those two!!" Wang Ye yelled across the platform.

The four suicide bombers, taken aback upon seeing him, seemed to freeze, unsure of what to say after hearing his words.

Wang Ye grew impatient and said, "This isn’t a revolution!! This is a terror attack!! You won’t become heroes!!"

The suicide bombers exchanged looks, as if wrestling with their doubts internally.

"What about the other two?!" Wang Ye shouted again.

By then, the sound of the subway grew louder.

"They’ve gone up. We’re going up too," one of the heavier men shouted back.

"Don’t!! Don’t do this!!!" Wang Ye roared.

The subway entered the station, the white train rushing into Wang Ye’s view from the right, slowing down across the tracks.

"There’s a bomb! There’s a bomb! Don’t let this train start!" Wang Ye shouted.

People around him treated him like a madman, but they all stayed away from him.

Wang Ye, unable to wait any longer, pulled out a pistol and shot at the subway’s wheels, but the bullets had no effect, and soon, he fired the last one.

"Why won’t you listen to me?!! Call the police! Call the police quickly!" Wang Ye cried in anger.

The crowd waiting for the train silently retreated towards the exit, and the subway slowly started; he could only watch as the death train entered into the dark abyss.

At that moment, Wang Ye suddenly felt as though something fiercely bit his back, followed by a violent electric shock.

The electricity seemed to pierce through his viscera; his bones felt as if they were falling apart, a scorching liquid sprayed out between his thighs, and he became limp, instantly collapsing onto the ground.

Six security officers ran over, pulled out electric batons, and repeatedly struck Wang Ye; he lay on the ground, unable to move, his speech impaired, he lost control of his lower body, and his fingers twisted involuntarily; he only felt the metal sticks brutally hitting his back and head, the pain unbearable.

Then, a horrifying tremor followed, accompanied by thunderous booming; all the lights on the platform went out at that moment.

In the darkness, faint sparks emerged from the tunnel, people’s weeping and screaming ebbed and flowed; many people used their cell phones for lighting, and the security officers, while restraining Wang Ye, also checked the situation.

"It exploded... They’re all dead..." Wang Ye said.

"What did you say?!" a security officer asked sternly.

"Somebody is rebelling... outside the subway station... there’s a car..." Wang Ye spoke, then lost consciousness again.

He did not know how long he had been unconscious when he woke up in the hospital in Bai Feng City.

It was night outside the window, the television was broadcasting news.

"... The subway station bombing killed 249 and injured 128... A total of three trains were attacked. No organizations have claimed responsibility for this terrorist attack yet, but outside the Linghuai Road subway station in Bai Feng City, the bodies of a man and a woman were found, both shot dead. Currently, the security bureau has taken one injured suspect into custody..."

The suspect mentioned in the news was probably him.

Wang Ye tried to get out of bed but found that his limbs were handcuffed to the bed; a thin blanket covered him, and based on the sensation against his skin, he was probably not wearing any clothes.

There was noise outside the door, footsteps came and went nonstop; Bai Feng City had only this large hospital, and the severity of casualties from the subway terror attack must have overwhelmed the hospital.

He stared at the ceiling, awaiting his fate.

At least, he had escaped from the terror organization, but he carried a criminal charge and had essentially escaped from prison; now in the hands of the security bureau, he was likely facing a dead end.

Lost in these thoughts, the handle of the hospital room door clicked crisply, and footsteps clacked on the floor.

A middle-aged man in a black leather coat rounded the curtain and came to the foot of the bed.

This man was about fifty, with a crew cut, white hair, plump cheeks; but his face bore not the ferocity of a thug, but a rigid sense of order and authority.

"Are you Wang Ye?" the man spoke, his voice booming and carrying a local accent.

Wang Ye nodded.

The man pulled out an identification card, saying, "I’m from the Secretariat, tonight, you’re coming with me."

"The Secretariat...?" Wang Ye was taken aback.

This was much bigger than the security bureau; Yin Country’s administrative department was divided into three houses, six bureaus, and twelve departments; the Secretariat was one of the six bureaus, overseeing national security and secret intelligence... The security bureau was simply a branch under the interior department, not even comparable.

"Your case involves a lot of people; Mr. Xu reviewed your file and thinks you’re a talent worth developing," the man said.

"Who is Mr. Xu?" Wang Ye asked.

"Don’t ask, just come with me tonight, I can offer you a way out, and you can also serve your country. If you refuse, your death penalty will be executed tomorrow morning," the man declared.

Wang Ye closed his eyes.

Damn, here we go again.
