Chapter 335 - 333 Evil Doctrine

Chapter 335: Chapter 333 Evil Doctrine

Lilith raced the car on the interstate highway and arrived at a gas station. It was dawn, 6 AM, and two long-haul trucks were already stopped to refuel.

She parked the car by the side of the road and walked into the 24-hour convenience store next to the gas station, surveying the fully stocked shelves.

The man at the cashier’s counter stared at her, his gaze fixed.

She casually grabbed some chocolates and candies, recalling their uses and tastes from the victim’s memory.

At that moment, the TV on the shelf was broadcasting the morning news. The host was discussing with the Governor, Steijie, about the recent controversial gun ban bill.

Lilith peeled off the lollipop wrapper and carelessly popped it into her mouth, eyes fixed on the TV screen.

The clerk stood up and said with a smile, "You haven’t paid yet."

Lilith extended a finger towards him, signaling him to keep quiet.

The host asked, "...so, what drives you or supports you in implementing this gun ban bill? We all know, the Sethiyan Federation has suffered from shootings for too long, but no governor has ever successfully implemented a gun ban before. I don’t understand how you managed it?"

"Persistence," Steijie said with a smile.

"Persistence?" the host asked in confusion.

"Persistently negotiating with various forces, finding their weakest parts, and breaking them one by one. That’s my winning strategy," Steijie explained with a smile.

Lilith turned to the clerk and said, "He’s different from the others."

"What?" The clerk was puzzled.

"His mind probably isn’t filled with women and soap operas," Lilith said.

"He is... the Governor. You know what I mean?" The clerk shrugged.

"How can I meet him?" Lilith asked.

"What are you saying?" The clerk laughed.

"You know what I’m talking about," Lilith said, her face stern.

"I... uh... I mean, he’s not just anybody. People like us can’t meet him," the clerk explained.

Lilith looked back at the TV where the host was conversing leisurely with Steijie.

"How can he meet him?" Lilith asked.

"That host? Don’t you watch his talk show? He’s Bang Jie Fu, host of the most popular political talk show in the Federation," the clerk said.

Lilith tilted her head and stared intently at Bang Jie Fu, memorizing his appearance and voice.

She then asked, "Where are they now? Can this Bang Jie Fu meet the Governor anytime, anywhere?"

The clerk smiled and shook his head, "I don’t know. Maybe in Georgetown, or perhaps in some studio. This program was recorded last night. They’re not there this morning. Even Bang Jie Fu can’t meet the Governor every day."

Lilith frowned, realizing that her earlier preparations had been in vain.

She walked up to the counter and threw a handful of lollipops on it, savoring the sweetness she liked.

"Six lollipops, that’ll be 5 Langke. Want to buy anything else?" the clerk asked.

Lilith said with a smile, "Are you trying to rewrite my Chapter?"

"Ah?" The clerk looked at her.

"Ah? What does that mean?" Lilith smiled as she looked at him.

"What... do you mean by Chapter?" the clerk asked again.

"Why do you want me to buy something else?" Lilith asked with a smile.

The clerk hesitated momentarily, increasingly finding the woman’s smile in front of him dangerous, and the non-human emotions emanating from her eyes confused him. He couldn’t shake the feeling that standing before him wasn’t a person but a lizard, a gecko, or some other cold-blooded creature.

"You don’t have to buy if you don’t want to..." the clerk said softly.

"I prefer to make my own decisions, not be swayed by others. You interfered in my Chapter, trying to influence my decision making. That’s inappropriate, understand?" Lilith said.

The clerk nodded, not fully understanding.

Lilith reached out and gently touched the clerk’s forehead.

She asked, "What do you usually do?"

"I... I work here..." the clerk said.

"No, I mean, what do you do with the rest of your time?" Lilith asked.

"Well... I watch movies, play games, and then... go out with some friends for fun..." the clerk replied.

"Then your brain isn’t needed; I already have one," Lilith said.

After saying that, she slowly walked out the door.

The clerk leaned out from behind the counter, watching as Lilith drove away, his mind filled with question marks.

She drove for twenty kilometers and then ran out of gas, something she hadn’t anticipated. She only had a cellphone and six lollipops in her pocket.

She knew with her appearance, it wouldn’t be long before another car picked her up.

So, Lilith pulled down her jacket zipper a bit, exposing much of her perfect cleavage, and stood with her hands on her hips, waiting.

Soon, an SUV approached, carrying a family of three. The vehicle slowed down but somehow sped up again and left her behind.

Lilith turned her gaze toward the horizon again, waited for half an hour, and then slowly started walking along the interstate.

Twenty minutes later, she got lucky—a white sedan stopped next to her, driven by a man in his early forties.

"Hey~ need a ride?" the man asked as he rolled down the passenger window, a waft of fragrance emanating from inside.

Lilith smiled and got into the car.

The man was well-dressed, and the car was immaculately clean, obviously a luxury vehicle judging by the interior and the logo.

The man started the car and began to make conversation.

"Where are you headed? I saw a car parked on the side of the road when I was coming; was that yours?" the man asked.

"I’m going to see the governor; got any ideas?" Lilith smiled.

"I too want to see the governor; what a coincidence, right?" the man chuckled.

His hand naturally found its way onto Lilith’s thigh.

"What do you usually do during your days?" Lilith inquired.

The man glanced at her, smiled and said, "I have lots of things I can do, but today, I’ve decided to get you to your destination first. That’s the most important thing."

Lilith was pleased with his response and asked, "You seem different from others, but I don’t know how much you differ from the governor."

"The difference between me and the governor depends on how well you understand me," the man chuckled.

"Open the window," Lilith said.

"The wind will be loud," the man replied.

"I need some air," Lilith insisted.

The man smiled and rolled down the window.

At that moment, Lilith opened her mouth and her tongue shot out like a snake, piercing the man’s temple.

Simultaneously, her left hand grabbed the steering wheel, keeping the car under control.

The man’s mouth twisted, his consciousness lingering for less than a second before he was gone.

She slowly pulled the car over to the side of the road. After absorbing the man’s brain, she discovered he was the leader of a small cult.

"One God Sect...? Am I the original follower of Wei Tianyang? When Wei Tianyang faced the heavenly fire, I was both witness and recorder."

Lilith mulled over the man’s memories and knowledge.

"60 followers, 20 women, 30 men, 10 children. They were promised that I would lead them during the great collapse, following Wei Tianyang to the New World..."

Lilith laughed.

The residents here had no understanding of great narratives, yet they would craft their own Chapters, which in their terms, is called "lying."

One God Sect?

Lilith’s lips curved slightly upwards. She didn’t care about Wei Tianyang but saw the essence of the whole affair: through lies, she could gather a group of people and establish her little familial system...

"That’s enough, that’s enough," Lilith chuckled.
