I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 333 - 331: Descending from the Sky
Chapter 333: Chapter 331: Descending from the Sky
Sethiyan Federation, outskirts of Deke State, 11 p.m.
Interstate Highway.
A gleaming second-hand Chevy convertible muscle car roared past.
Amidst the intense death metal music, four young men were indulging themselves inside the car, having set off from Deke State and planning to head to the nearby Peter State under the cover of night.
Mike, who was driving, was puffing on marijuana, while Joey, the black guy in the passenger seat, swayed his body to the rhythm of the metal music.
In the back seat, Tom was getting hot and heavy with Lidi, a streetwalker they had just picked up in town. Having just finished a round, he was exhausted and pulling up his pants.
"Who’s next, handsome guys?" Lidi lay on the back seat, her chest and belly exposed, with bills stuffed into her bra.
"Mike! Are you coming or not?" Tom asked with a laugh, his voice carried away by the wind by two-thirds.
"I’m suffocating; I need a few drags first. Damn, Governor Steijie has reduced the weed-legal states from twelve to just two. What an idiot," laughed Mike.
"Yo~ he can’t control us on this road, bro~" Joey laughed.
"I can’t take it; I’m gonna puke," Tom said as he stuck his head out and started vomiting.
"Wow~" Lidi laughed too.
"Careful not to puke on my side panel! Damn!" cursed Mike.
Joey glanced back and handed Tom a can of Coke.
"I can’t drink it... I feel like I’m gonna soar..." Tom said in discomfort.
"What’s wrong with him?!" Lidi also started to worry.
Joey chuckled and looked at the nightscapes whizzing by the state highway. Streetlights blurred into streaks of orange light due to the car’s high speed, and the brilliant night sky made the distant wilderness seem even more expansive. The rolling hills broke the monotony of the horizon, and behind them, the lights of Levin City, Deke County gradually faded into darkness.
"Damn, that’s beautiful," Joey marveled.
Just then, a red meteor streaked across the sky.
"Wow! A meteor!" Lidi exclaimed as she lay on her back and pointed towards the night sky.
All three young men looked up.
"Mike! You’re driving!" shouted Joey.
With his head askew, Tom watched the red meteor falling towards a mountain on the right. It was huge—at first, only as large as a thumb, but it grew to the size of a car as it fell closer to the ground.
"Don’t you guys think this meteor is a bit too big?" Tom asked.
Joey was speechless; after the red meteor crashed behind the mountain range, it was followed by a whooshing sound, then a violent impact like an explosion.
The intense collision emitted a flash of red light, briefly illuminating the darkened mountain line in the distance.
"Fuck!! That’s not a meteor! It’s a meteorite!" Mike yelled.
The Chevy muscle car almost went out of control, but Joey reached out to help Mike steady the wheel.
"It’s aliens!" Lidi exclaimed.
"I bet 5 Langke, it’s that... Heavenly Falling Object! The government uses them to create super soldiers!" Tom said.
"Damn, we better stay away from that thing. I’ve got a bad feeling," Joey said.
"Don’t be an idiot; we have to check it out!" Mike laughed.
"What?!" Joey exclaimed in surprise.
"We could become super soldiers too, bitches! Ugh..." Tom vomited again after speaking.
"You’re all fucking crazy, if that thing really is a Heavenly Falling Object, the military’s definitely going to come!" Joey said.
"We’re the closest to it," Mike laughed.
"You’re a scaredy-cat, blackie," Lidi laughed.
"Hey! Yo! I warn you not to call me that!" Joey turned around, glaring at Lidi.
"You’ve scared the little bitch into crying... ugh..." Tom said.
"I’m not that scared, I’m gonna take a selfie standing on that thing and post it on Youle. Do you think that thing has a dick?" Lidi laughed.
"Let’s go and see, and if it’s alive, can you help it ’stand up’?" Mike turned his head to look at Lidi and laughed.
"No problem, unless it’s gay," Lidi started to laugh.
Mike drove off the small slope onto the highway, the car speeding across the wilderness. They had travelled a great distance when they neared the mountain range, where the ground became steep and rugged. The muscle car’s undercarriage couldn’t handle the terrain, so they had to get out and walk.
Joey was still reluctant, but he followed them towards the gap between the two low mountains.
When they rounded the mountain, they saw nothing there. There were no craters on the ground, no traces of impact from a colossal object, just an utterly ordinary desolate land.
"Are you sure it’s here?" Lidi asked.
Mike had just smoked some weed and walked so far, now feeling shaky and sitting on a rock trembling. He laughed, "Maybe it was an illusion just now."
"We didn’t smoke weed, how could we have hallucinations? Plus, you’re driving a convertible," Joey said.
"Maybe you’re in my dream, maybe... fuck, I need to rest a bit," Mike yawned.
"Forget him, let’s look around. The thing is so huge, unless it’s alive, it can’t be missed," Lidi said.
"Do you really want to give that thing a handjob?" Tom laughed.
"That’s a Heavenly Falling Object, and no one has posted about it online yet. I’m going to be an internet sensation, you little dumbasses!" Lidi laughed, and then she ran off to check behind a depression in the hillside on her own.
"Shit, I thought this chick was just a streetwalker," Joey said.
"I don’t know, she was standing on the street corner hailing cars, so I had Mike stop and let her on," Tom said.
"You didn’t ask her?" Joey exclaimed.
"No... as soon as she got on, I ripped open her clothes. She seemed to not struggle and even enjoyed it," Tom said.
"Hey!! Boys!" Lidi’s voice came from over the mountain.
The three young men quickly got up and followed the sound.
They rounded the dark mountain wall and saw Lidi holding a cellphone, using its flashlight to shine on a naked woman curled up in a corner.
"Wow!" Tom said.
"What’s going on?! This woman?" Joey asked.
Lidi shook her head, "Probably a streetwalker, dumped here after turning a trick."
"Hey~ are you okay? We can take you back, where do you live?" Lidi asked.
The woman had brown hair and wheat-colored skin, hugging her legs and curling up there. She was completely naked, with some dark, dirty marks on her body, like she had been scalded by fire.
She buried her face deeply behind her knees, only revealing a pair of purple eyes staring at everyone.
"Her eyes are really pretty," Tom said.
"What’s your name? Are you from Deke State?" Lidi asked.
The woman looked at Lidi, silent and not speaking, but it seemed like she was observing every move.
"She must be terrified," Lidi took off her off-shoulder jacket and walked over to drape it over the woman.
