I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 307 - 305 Mission Accomplished
Chapter 307: Chapter 305 Mission Accomplished
A man and a goat stepped out of objective reality and walked about two kilometers on the barren land when the helicopter sent by Leona had already found him.
The huge rotor whipped up a vortex of wind, and the helicopter circled above Wei Tianyang’s head a few times before finally confirming that there was no danger and then slowly landed in front of him.
Wei Tianyang held the Black Mountain Goat’s horn with his right hand and stood with his hands on his hips, waiting as two special forces members called out to him, "Come aboard! What’s with that goat?!"
He waved his hand and said, "Is there a farm nearby? Maybe it belongs to the local farmers."
The special forces member shook his head, admitting he wasn’t a local, and asked, "Are you taking it with you?"
"Is there still room?" inquired Wei Tianyang.
The special forces member thought for a moment, gestured to board the aircraft, and Wei Tianyang, leading Baphomet, jumped into the cabin.
Baphomet crouched on one side of the cabin, while Wei Tianyang sat next to it, with the two team members sitting across from them.
The helicopter slowly ascended, and the two men clung to the cabin door looking around, only to see under the moonlight a hundred miles radius of nothing but black barren land and a range of interconnected black mountains in the distance, quite desolate.
"Damn... it’s really all been leveled..." One of the team members couldn’t help but remark.
"How did you do it?" the other one asked curiously.
Wei Tianyang glanced at him but did not respond.
"Shut up... It’s classified."
"Alright, I was just curious."
The two team members continued their conversation among themselves.
Wei Tianyang looked at Baphomet, which now appeared to be just an ordinary black male goat, except that its coat was too purely black, giving it an eerily unusual look at a glance.
The helicopter flew for almost half an hour, evacuating them from the surrounding area of Gerlitz. During this time, Wei Tianyang saw several military helicopters passing by.
Leona called him then to confirm the situation.
"Wei? How are things?" she asked.
"The danger has been removed, but I still suggest you do a thorough check. The area is large, and some might have slipped through," Wei Tianyang said.
"We saw what happened just now through the drones," Leona hinted.
"Was it a battle between two giants?" Wei Tianyang asked with a smile.
"We couldn’t tell which one was you, so we couldn’t provide air-to-ground missile support earlier... but I think the one with the horns must have been you," Leona said.
"You’re not wrong," Wei Tianyang said, glanced at Baphomet, then continued.
"That... was that really 091? My God... It’s really big... Did you turn into it, or did you let it out?" Leona asked with an exaggerated tone of amazement.
"It’s all pretty much the same... Anyway, the problem is solved, those zombies shouldn’t bother you anymore," Wei Tianyang said.
The black domain had no effect on Baphomet but was effective against its kin.
"Let’s talk more when you get back. There seems to be a lot of work ahead for the intelligence department," Leona said.
"I should arrive at the temporary command center pretty soon," Wei Tianyang said.
"Hmm... Wei, are you sure there’s not even a bit of Degenesis Flesh left?" Leona was still somewhat concerned.
"I’ve told you before, haven’t I? This ability is irreversible," Wei Tianyang said.
"Understood," said Leona.
Her tone became more relaxed, not as solemn as a few hours before. After all, the country’s biggest disaster had been averted in an instant, and it had happened during her tenure, which could be seen as a significant political achievement, earning her plenty of political capital.
"Then I’ll see you in a bit," Leona said.
Wei Tianyang hung up the phone, and in the blink of an eye, the helicopter had already flown to the temporary command center a hundred kilometers away, where Straus was in charge of the aftermath work.
The Gerlitz crisis was over, but he was neither happy nor sad, still with an unfathomable expression.
Wei Tianyang jumped off the helicopter, with Baphomet following behind.
Straus came to greet him and said, "Congratulations on completing the mission..."
As he spoke, he looked at the Black Mountain Goat beside Wei Tianyang.
"Uh... what’s this?" he pointed at Baphomet.
"It might be from a nearby farm," Wei Tianyang said.
"There are no farms around this city; I think there’s something off about this goat... perhaps we should..." as Straus spoke, his hand already disengaged the safety catch on his rifle.
Wei Tianyang turned around and communicated telepathically, "You run outside and then hide in objective reality. Wait for me at the entrance of the tent ahead. When it’s time to leave, I will come to find you."
"What’s objective reality?" Baphomet was puzzled.
"It’s what you call ’title page’," Wei Tianyang frowned.
Baphomet lowered its head, then with a bleat, it took off towards the gate, running at a breakneck speed. The soldiers in the camp were rather surprised and before they could react, it jumped over the fence, sprinted out the door, and melted into the night.
Straus had been ready to shoot, but there were too many people around, and he was afraid of causing accidental injuries, so he did not fire.
Seeing that Baphomet had gotten away, Wei Tianyang smiled and said, "If it’s gone, let it go. Think of it as a release."
"Could it also be infected? Its fur color looked a bit odd," Straus was still a bit worried.
He turned to ask the few special forces troops who were present, "Where did this goat come from?"
"It came with him on the plane," the special forces were quite upfront.
"So that means it was at the scene..." Straus furrowed his brows.
He looked at Wei Tianyang and asked, "So your ability doesn’t work on animals?"
Wei Tianyang shrugged, "Perhaps, this is only the second time I’ve used this power."
"Take six men, two dogs, and go look for it," Straus instructed.
Wei Tianyang sighed. What a persistent man.
But Baphomet had already sneaked into objective reality. Let them search.
In the temporary meeting tent, Straus and Wei Tianyang donned AR glasses, and across the table were several high-ranking officials from Leona’s office.
A 3D map was floating above the table, showing the situation around Gerlitz and its surroundings.
"The eradication was very thorough; satellites can’t see any buildings there anymore..."
The Director of Intelligence from Prussia, a middle-aged bald man, said somewhat embarrassingly.
"The rebuilding should be quite easy; at least there’s no need to clean up debris," Leona said.
"The foundations and underground structures may still be intact. I won’t be leaving for now. If zombies are discovered underground, please notify me to take care of them," Wei Tianyang said.
"Our reconnaissance teams have already set out. The helicopters and drones have completed preliminary reconnaissance work and, for the time being, have not spotted any moving objects," the Director of Intelligence was very pleased.
Wei Tianyang heard Baphomet’s mental voice; it was asking when it could leave this realm.
He briefly entered objective reality and was surprised to see the Black Mountain Goat standing right beside him.
"You can still contact me in here?" he asked.
"Of course, there are virtually no limits for me," Baphomet moved its mouth, its gaze inscrutable.
"Can you fly in your current form?" Wei Tianyang asked again.
"I am just an ordinary goat right now," Baphomet shook its head.
Wei Tianyang felt disappointed and exited objective reality.
Time began to flow again; Straus had no idea that Wei Tianyang had left briefly.
The meeting didn’t last long, after all, Wei Tianyang had been thorough, leaving nothing behind in that area, and the only survivor, Baphomet, was also taken away by him.
Afterward, Wei Tianyang boarded the military transport aircraft, and in objective reality, Baphomet also seamlessly walked into the cabin.
Just like that, a man and a goat, in two dimensions, left the land together.
