I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 249 - 247 Reincarnation
Chapter 249: Chapter 247 Reincarnation
"Don’t even think about touching her."
Wei Tianyang suddenly heard a strange woman’s voice in his ear.
That instant, he sensed a thought filled with murderous intent directly behind him.
The next second, a forearm was wrapped around Wei Tianyang’s neck from behind.
He instinctively switched to objective reality, but he still couldn’t shake off the arm.
The arm wrapped around from the left, tightening its grip on his neck, while another arm assisted in tightening the strangling hold.
Then, two legs also wrapped around his waist, and he felt as if he were shouldering a nearly 150-pound weight, making it difficult to breathe.
It was a rear naked choke, and it was already locked in.
Wei Tianyang stumbled backward, stepping on an iron pot and toppling over.
"Are you... Zoe?" Wei Tianyang said.
"You sure do talk a lot!" the woman replied.
Wei Tianyang extended his right hand backward with the Bone Knife, his fingers piercing through the floor of the RV and digging into the chitinous ground.
Did he miss?
"Your spine is pretty tough, wolf pup," the woman said coldly, increasing the strength in her arms.
Wei Tianyang’s eyes bulged, completely unable to breathe. He kicked the ground with his legs, arched his torso, trying to wrestle his head free with a bridge motion.
"Stop struggling and just die already, there’s no escaping a fully locked in rear naked choke," the woman laughed.
"Go to hell." Wei Tianyang retracted the Bone Knife, spread his palm and fired a shot toward the back of his head.
"You motherfucker..."
The woman instantly let go of Wei Tianyang, kicking him in his waist and sending him flying.
The gun barrel extending from his palm ejected a blue muzzle flash, and the wailing spirits exploded within the RV, smashing the various pots and pans.
He fell to the ground, his left arm gashed open by several pots, cutting a gash on the outside of his forearm.
He rolled over and looked back, only to see the door of the RV shaking.
Wei Tianyang immediately gave chase, and under the blood moon, a white-haired woman stood in the open field, clad in a black rubber suit, her hands empty, her face full of killing intent.
"It really is you..." Wei Tianyang said.
He had glimpsed Zoe’s appearance in Chiharu’s memories, and the woman in front of him was indeed her.
"You can see me?" Zoe said.
"We aren’t enemies here. I just want to know what happened," Wei Tianyang said.
"You harbored murderous intent toward Chiharu, there’s nothing left to say." Zoe smiled.
Wei Tianyang sneered and raised his hand to shoot.
The vengeful spirit bullets hit her directly, lighting up blue light explosions and dust.
But Wei Tianyang realized that the attack didn’t work.
As the light and dust cleared, Zoe was encapsulated within a square transparent field.
Did she have a second ability, or was it someone else?
Wei Tianyang sensed another surge of murderous intent. His body suddenly tensed, and as he looked down, his own shadow was entangled with another. Then, agony gripped his stomach, and his abdomen was suddenly stained red with blood.
"Damn it... Shadow..." Wei Tianyang cursed under his breath.
Meanwhile, Zoe had already charged toward "his" front, and in that moment, he saw a strand of white thread stretching from the field around Zoe toward the flat roof behind her.
Zoe grabbed Wei Tianyang by the collar with her left hand, her right elbow aiming for his chin. Wei Tianyang reached out his left arm to block, but halfway up, it was grabbed by his own shadow.
He took a blow to the chin; Zoe jumped onto him, her knee pressing right into his wounded abdomen, using her weight to try and topple him.
"Ah!!!" Wei Tianyang’s eyes emitted a red glow.
Suddenly, thousands of spikes, each over ten meters long, burst forth from the ground!
These spikes unexpectedly sprouted from the chitinous flooring, erupting into a fan-shaped area in front of Wei Tianyang, creating a sea of spikes with a hundred-meter radius, shredding the windows, doors, and roofs of the surrounding houses.
Zoe, taken aback, was impaled upon these spikes and launched into the sky, her white field shattered into dust of light.
The next instant, Wei Tianyang felt much lighter, the spikes vanished, and the thing entangling his shadow disappeared. A man’s body, riddled with holes, lay on the ground, and at the same time, a black mist of blood floated from behind the bungalow to his left, mingling with the man’s dark aura and all being sucked into his right arm.
Zoe fell to the ground, quickly got up, and looked at Wei Tianyang in surprise. She hesitated for only a second before turning to run.
"Think you can escape!?" Wei Tianyang roared angrily.
He looked at Zoe’s shadow and used his newly acquired ability, his body instantly turning into a black mist that sank into the ground.
He felt himself enter a pitch-black world, and in front of him appeared a white running shadow.
Wei Tianyang had assumed he’d have to run over to catch it, but to his surprise, with a mere thought, he suddenly wrapped around the white figure as if he had teleported.
Zoe’s body sank, her knees savagely kicked from beneath, and immediately, she was forced to her knees. Then she heard a loud snap from her left shoulder and an intense pain followed; she clenched her teeth, knowing her left arm was dislocated.
She didn’t want to believe it, but she had to—the man before her had absorbed her companion’s abilities!
Wei Tianyang appeared in front of Zoe, his right hand grasping her other arm and with a light tug, kacha! Zoe’s other arm dislocated as well.
She grunted and lay on the ground, only able to look at him.
Wei Tianyang felt a surge of thought flow into his brain, Zoe’s eyes also emitting a purple glow.
He sneered and stomped his foot onto Zoe’s upper abdomen, his heel sinking into her flesh.
Zoe spat out a mouthful of stomach acid, her eyes losing their luster.
"You can’t kill me..." she said, unwilling to concede.
"You’re a dead being," Wei Tianyang declared.
"How... how do you know... who are you exactly...?" Zoe said, bewildered.
"I’ve come across it years ago, but this kind of thing, it’s my first time seeing. Tell me, what is this Rebirth Project that Chiharu spoke of?! What is your true purpose?!" Wei Tianyang demanded.
"She told you?! No... impossible..." Zoe replied.
"In her hands, she has your spine." Wei Tianyang sneered coldly.
"You... you’ve acquired my abilities as well?" Zoe said in astonishment.
"If you won’t tell me, I’ll find out myself," Wei Tianyang said.
He grabbed Zoe by the neck with his right hand and hoisted her up, his eyes shining like the red lights of a pedestrian crossing.
Zoe’s mind was filled with doubt and fear, but there were also many other useful pieces of information.
[Could he be... a person from the dawn of humanity?!]
[Miss Chiharu’s experiment is flawed... he can see us! We are not completely dead!]
Wei Tianyang delved into Zoe’s mind, and a series of broken, chaotic images assailed him; he saw Fujiwara Makoto strapped to an electric chair, witnessed Chiharu and Zoe standing together, looking as several men toyed with Fujiwara Makoto.
He heard Chiharu say to Zoe:
[Joining the Lingxian Sect is our only chance...]
[Rebirth Technology and Fujiwara Makoto are worthy offerings; once we obtain the techniques of the Lingxian Sect, all of humanity will enter a new dimension, death will be eternal life, and you, are merely a step ahead.]
[Zoe... you can hear everyone’s hearts, you know I’m not lying.]
[This world has already decayed... join me, and let us reshape the entire world.]
