Chapter 238 - 236 Scattered Flowers

Chapter 238: Chapter 236 Scattered Flowers

22nd floor of the office building.

A black-haired woman from Churi Country, dressed in a white suit and escorted by agents, carried a bulletproof briefcase as she hastily left the office.

She appeared to be in her early thirties, embodying the delicate beauty characteristic of Churi Country women.

The group wore specialized masks and, though close at hand, communicated via communicators.

"What is attacking us?" the woman asked.

"It’s still unclear, searching now," a female agent with a ponytail responded calmly.

The group pushed through the fire door, rushed into the stairwell, and with a dozen handguns, scanned the darkened staircase, guarding the woman in the center as they hastily moved toward the roof.

"Team three? Team five? Respond if you hear this!" The female agent put on AR glasses and tried to contact the people below, but most of the personnel signals on the HUD went offline.

"The helicopter is on its way!" another male agent announced.

"I’ve seen it, we must get the young lady out!" the female agent insisted.

The agents moved while confirming various information through their AR glasses.

"Where are the comparison results?"

"Who is the opponent?"

"A man from Yin Country! Male! Looks to be in his twenties."

"Is he controlled by P13?"

"It doesn’t seem like it, superpower unclear!"

"So, we don’t even know who the opponent is? Damn it!"

Everyone hurried up to the rooftop. The morning sun was somewhat dazzling, and the air was moist, looking like it might rain.

The helipad on the roof was flashing yellow warning lights, and the woman in white, clutching her briefcase, was led to a position near the center.

About a dozen agents aimed their submachine guns at the small metal door of the staircase.

"Xi!" the woman in white called out to the female agent beside her.

"I will definitely get you out safely, don’t worry," Xi said.

"Everyone should escape, we’re no match for her," the woman said.

"We can’t all escape together," Xi shook her head.

"Xi!" the woman grabbed Xi’s arm.

"This is my time to repay you!" Beneath Xi’s sunglasses, a pair of green eyes glinted slightly.

"If you die, Xiao Jing will be very sad," the woman shook her head.

"Without you, Xiao Jing and I... would have died in the containment facility long ago," Xi replied.

At that moment, the small iron door began to tremble.

Simultaneously, the sound of helicopter rotors echoed from the sky.

The woman turned her head towards the direction of the rising sun, where a grey helicopter was rapidly approaching.

"The helicopter is here!" the agents yelled.

At the same time, the metal door at the stairwell was ripped from its frame, spinning and flying towards the agents.

Four agents used their bodies as shields, lined up to intercept the door, but their sternums and arms were shattered, and they flew back 2 meters before lying on the ground.

Then, the agents fired towards the stairwell entrance, and instantly, gunfire erupted.

Bullets poured down like rain into the dark stairwell, and after about ten seconds, everyone had emptied their magazines.

"Reload!"

They called to each other, reaching into their suit jackets with their left hands and gently flicking the magazines out of the gun handles with their right hands.

At that moment, a pair of blood-red eyes appeared in the dark stairwell.

Those eyes were devoid of emotion, emotionless, and the figure of a man close to 1.8 meters tall was vaguely visible.

The agents froze for a second, some continued to reload while others had already drawn their rib-chappers and charged yelling.

Three agents rushed into the hallway, then their bodies were dragged back by an invisible force, flying back. The others looked on in shock as the rib-chappers uncontrollably pierced into their jaws, their eyes rolling back as their feet lifted off the ground, the knives carrying them to the edge of the building, then they plummeted.

The roaring sound of the helicopter engine was just around the corner, and the pilot yelled over the channel, "Trap them!!!"

Xi pulled the woman’s arm, saying, "Quick, get on the plane! Hurry!"

"We leave together!" the woman said.

"I need to hold him back..." Xi shook her head, pushed the woman onto the helicopter, then patted the helicopter’s side door.

Xi turned her head, the remaining agents were still firing, but their guns fluttered uncontrollably, pointing in all directions, unable to hit the man.

The man had reached the rooftop, his hands in his pockets, appearing no older than twenty, expressionless—not fighting, but strolling.

The agents’ rib-chappers traced unphysical zigzag lines in the air, as if an invisible person was holding them.

Those knives frenziedly slashed and stabbed the agents, blood and intestines spilled everywhere.

The last male agent, clutching his split-open abdomen, staggered towards the man with a ballpoint pen in his right hand.

"Curse you..." he moaned as he thrust the pen towards the man.

The man grasped the agent’s arm and gently pushed him away, leaving him be.

By then, the helicopter had taken off, and the woman in white leaned out of the cabin door, watching Xi confront the man.

"The Superpower Special Forces... not so impressive! I’m one too!!!" Xi roared.

She removed her sunglasses, her eyes emitting a green glow, raising her hand towards the sky.

The man curiously watched her, unmoving.

But in Xi’s hand, she slowly gathered a beam of light, the golden glow emitted by the rising sun from the east. It gathered in Xi’s hand and gradually formed a samurai sword.

"I’ll be your challenger!! Die under this blade forged from light!!!!"

Xi yelled, and the samurai sword instantly lengthened, thrusting towards the man’s head.

The speed of the samurai sword, made of light, was astonishing, and under Xi’s control, it nearly reached its limit in length, but at this distance, it was sufficient.

Xi saw that the man did not dodge, the blade already touching his face, she could not help but rejoice.

However, the next second, the man vanished.

Heat brushed across her neck.

A hand wrapped around Xi’s waist. Shocked, she turned, only to see the man had instantly moved behind her.

Xi turned around, but her stomach ached intensely. Looking down, she saw the man’s right hand had turned into five ruthless blades, deeply embedded in her abdomen.

Blood, bright red, quickly soaked her white shirt red like an oil-stained rag, and the light-forged samurai sword dissipated.

Xi, weakened, leaned into the man’s embrace, moaning helplessly, but the man did not retract his hand. His fingers continued to play inside her abdomen, smashing her liver and intestines until he finally dropped her to the ground.

The woman in the helicopter witnessed this scene; her body trembled as she covered her mouth, sobbing loudly.

"Xi... Xi ah... Xi!!" she cried out.

The helicopter had already flown over 200 meters from the building when suddenly, the pilot shouted:

"It’s malfunctioning! The control stick’s malfunctioned!!! Damn it!!! We’ve lost control!!!"

The helicopter’s rotor clattered and then detached from the fuselage, disintegrating.

While the massive fuselage seemed to be caught by an invisible giant hand, hanging suspended in mid-air.

Xi lay on the ground, looking up at the abnormal helicopter, gasping in pain. Her throat filled with blood, and when she opened her mouth, blood gushed out.

"Miss..." Xi’s eyes slowly lost their color, helplessly watching as the helicopter, under the man’s control, flew back.

Her body grew cold; she felt herself losing control, her toes twitching in their final spasms.

The helicopter slowly descended onto the helipad, the man walked towards the woman in white, Xi closed her eyes in defeat.
