I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 207 - 205: Ghost Ship

Chapter 207: Chapter 205: Ghost Ship

"It’s not time for jokes now," Spencer said.

After saying that, he continued to check Wei Tianyang’s condition, but Wei Tianyang was already feeling much better.

He had seen what he shouldn’t have seen, and in that instant, the immense mental stress had triggered some kind of hallucination, or at least, that’s how he understood it.

Wei Tianyang steadied his mind a bit and said, "I’m fine, but at sea, there’s limited help I can provide. Let’s first think of a way to take shelter on the drilling platform."

Spencer nodded. That was the only option now, as a missile cruiser was not something a whaling ship could withstand. One hit and they would truly meet their doom in the vast ocean.

"First mate, steer the ship behind the drilling platform. It’s our only chance," Dave commanded.

Upon hearing this, the first mate hurriedly ran towards the helmsman.

The Santana seemed like a water cockroach, scurrying to the backside of the drilling platform.

Since the radar and all the electronic equipment were being jammed, the crew could only rely on their eyes to navigate. Fortunately, the drilling platform was already close to the ship, which didn’t pose a problem for these experienced sailors.

The ship quickly hid behind the platform, but just as everyone let out a sigh of relief, that distant missile cruiser, no bigger than a palm, suddenly went bang bang and shot two short-range missiles. A burst of white smoke erupted from the upper part of the ship. The piercing launch noise sounded from this side as if two loud farts had been released.

And the very next second, the missiles struck the columns of the offshore drilling platform. The small ship, being near the explosion area, was also impacted to a certain extent. The blast wave rolled up the seawater, creating a brief wave that pushed the Santana several meters away while the shock wave also knocked over two crew members.

However, the danger was still looming. The damaged, heavy columns could no longer support the huge platform. After struggling for more than ten seconds, the columns bent and snapped with a kacha, and the platform above their heads suddenly sank several meters. Then, it began to topple sideways, crashing down towards the Santana.

"Quick, dodge! Quick, dodge!" Dave shouted.

At the same time, Wei Tianyang phased into objective reality and flew up above the tilting platform. He looked down and was amazed by the sight of the platform’s support columns that stretched down like a sea elevator, plunging 3,000 meters deep into the seafloor.

But he wasn’t there to admire the man-made marvel. He was there to destroy it.

Wei Tianyang felt he was high enough, so he immediately phased out of objective reality and appeared a few meters above the platform.

Then, he clenched his right fist, letting his body fall freely while his right arm exerted force. With one strike, he slammed his fist onto the platform.

The blast wave churned, rippling across his face, and after the dull sound of iron hitting flesh, a three-meter-deep fist imprint appeared on the platform’s surface. Then, black spiderweb-like cracks rapidly spread out. The platform gradually disintegrated at a speed visible to the naked eye right beneath his feet.

Wei Tianyang flashed back onto the ship. The Santana was moving at full throttle in reverse. They watched as the platform seemed poised to crush them but, like paper consumed by flames, it slowly vanished into thin air.

The crew screamed in astonishment, and Spencer turned to look at Wei Tianyang. Seeing his blackened right hand and his posture as if he had just fallen, he understood everything.

"Damn, it’s a miracle! Wei! Did you see that?!" Dave laughed.

"Yes, I know. The danger isn’t over yet," Wei Tianyang said.

He appeared very calm. Despite being targeted and locked on by the enemy’s missile cruiser, and even though the ship had no weapons, he still didn’t feel a hint of threat or urgency.

With the disappearance of a drilling platform, they were fully exposed to the missile cruiser’s line of sight. However, the Santana was fast enough and soon maneuvered behind another platform.

Wei Tianyang shook his head and said, "Can’t we find a way to get closer to them?"

"It’s difficult; they’ll maintain the right distance, after all, the initiative is in their hands," Dave said.

Wei Tianyang looked again at the missile ship. As he had not received relevant training, he could not tell how far away the ship was from himself.

He estimated in his mind; the ship was but the size of a palm, guessing that it was not too far away from them, thus Wei Tianyang formulated a plan.

"You guys find cover," Wei Tianyang said.

Spencer nodded, but Dave seemed a bit puzzled.

Wei Tianyang disappeared once more, flashing to the outermost drilling platform, located on the flank of the missile ship, from where he could clearly see the entire ship.

With his left foot forward, hands on the ground, and his right leg kicking back, Wei Tianyang adopted the starting pose of a track athlete.

Next, a warm flow from his heart surged towards his left leg.

Cracks burst forth from the ground under his left foot, and with a push, the entire drilling platform shook backward. The next second, like a bullet from a gun’s chamber, he shot out mightily high.

The wind raged past his ears; the strength in his left leg propelled him gently diagonally forward, soaring over a hundred meters. The speed was not fast, but the kinetic energy was immense. On solid ground, this force would allow Wei Tianyang to perform a super jump, but there had been no need to do so for some time.

As the kinetic energy gradually weakened, Wei Tianyang fell toward the sea. Holding his breath, he immersed himself into objective reality, morphing into a moth and rapidly closing in on the missile ship.

From his position, the missile ship was less than 2 kilometers away, but due to fear of falling below the sea surface, Wei Tianyang had chosen a platform to step from.

The plan went fairly smoothly; he successfully landed on the missile ship. This gray iron vessel was streamlined and slightly larger than the Nantakate, with missile launchers concentrated at the bow.

He had just prepared to cut back to objective reality when he noticed four crew members appear on the foredeck. Moreover, they were not mere shadows but real people.

These four Caucasians wore old-fashioned military uniforms, resembling last century’s navy yet came to battle piloting a modern missile ship.

"What’s happening? Superpower Special Department?" Wei Tianyang was stunned for a second, and the others also noticed him.

Five pairs of eyes met.

"He can see us?!" they seemed surprised.

Wei Tianyang first put his confusion aside, subconsciously cutting out of objective reality preparing to teleport. But once back in reality, those four individuals were still there, their actions not even pausing.

"That’s not right! They are like Li Bin and Du Yan... not alive!" Wei Tianyang then realized.

He raised his hand and fired a volley of Wandering Soul Bullets, instantly shattering two of them, while the remaining two ducked behind the close-defense gun.

The gunfire alerted the other deceased aboard; they emerged from the sides, raising their rifles and shooting at him.

Wei Tianyang spread his palms open, extending the gun barrel, and blindly fired toward the sounds of gunfire, his feet not staying idle as he quickly ducked to the other side of the close-defense gun, the sound of bullets whizzing by his ears.

Those two deceased had not expected Wei Tianyang to charge at them; they tried to shoot only to see Wei Tianyang clenched his right fist and inexplicably, their bodies contorted becoming a dense black mist, absorbed into Wei Tianyang’s body.

He hid behind the close-defense gun, his mind reeling with thousands of thoughts: everyone on this ship was deceased. Unless they came of their own accord seeking vengeance on Spencer, someone else like him could communicate with the deceased, borrowing their power!
