I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 203 - 201: Struggle
Chapter 203: Chapter 201: Struggle
Yin Country, the top floor of Lingxiao Palace, the Emperor’s fitness room.
It was evening, and the rain had quenched the sunset glow. Drops of rain fell from the sky, pelting the floor-to-ceiling windows and blurring the cityscape outside. However, amidst the gathering dark clouds, the faint halos of hovering platforms were distinctly visible.
Zhao Ling, with her hair tied in a ponytail and dressed in a tight, navel-revealing tank top and yoga pants, sat cross-legged on a yoga mat. Her arms were still steaming with heat, and droplets of sweat had pooled in her navel, forming a small puddle, while her yoga mat was slightly dampened by the sweat oozing from her thighs.
She frowned, picked up her mobile phone next to her, and opened an application. It was a satellite map, where a green dot near the Seychelles Waters flashed on and off.
"What are you doing there..." murmured Zhao Ling.
She was somewhat angry but also somewhat worried.
At this moment, the key secretary Li Ruyun pushed open the door. Her high heels clacked loudly against the wooden floor.
"Your Majesty..." she adjusted her glasses, looked around, and then turned to lock the door before taking out her phone and tapping on it.
The floor-to-ceiling windows slowly turned black, and lights came on inside the room.
"Zhao Ling." Li Ruyun’s tone changed slightly, no longer as respectful as before, but with a hint of equality.
"What do you want to do?" Zhao Ling asked without even turning her head.
"I’ve come to remind you," said Li Ruyun.
"Remind me of what?" asked Zhao Ling.
"It’s been three years," said Li Ruyun.
Zhao Ling sighed, stood up, stretched her body, her back muscles drawing Li Ruyun to lick her lips.
"Three years, so what? We have plenty of time. This matter can’t be accomplished overnight," said Zhao Ling.
"The Supreme does not wish to wait any longer, and neither should you," Li Ruyun said coldly.
Zhao Ling turned around and instantly went into a split, stretching both hands and lying back toward her extended leg, her chocolate-like abs stretching into two thick bands.
As she stretched, she said, "Affections need to be cultivated gradually. He’s already our man now..."
Li Ruyun walked to the side, took off her high heels, and stepped onto the floor in her stocking feet. She took a deep breath and violently kicked a rack holding several dumbbells.
Her kick was as solid as steel, as if her bones were reinforced with steel bars, sending the barbells, each weighing several hundred kilograms, soaring together with the rack toward the floor-to-ceiling window.
The dumbbells, like tank shells, smashed the window into pieces, huge fragments of glass fell off, and the rack toppled along. The sharp wind from outside blew through the broken windows, stirring up the carefully controlled temperature inside and instantly adding chill to the room.
The heavy, annoying noise lasted for more than ten seconds before gradually stopping. The dumbbells rolled and came to a halt at the railing. Rainwater wet the floor near the window, piling up into puddles.
Zhao Ling straightened herself, unhurriedly folding her legs back. She was annoyed but still maintained a calm voice and said, "This is the highest floor in Fengrao City. If a dumbbell falls, someone might be killed."
"Worry about yourself first. The patience of the Supremes is nearly exhausted. You should remember the promises you made when you begged us to help you ascend to the throne, right?" Li Ruyun said angrily.
"What you mean ’us’? Ruyun, you’re just their messenger, my backup, following me with your Disguise Technique and monitoring me for over fifty years. Now you think you’re one of them?" Zhao Ling laughed.
Li Ruyun’s forehead veins bulged as she took off her glasses and stuffed them into her business jacket’s pocket, then gradually unbuttoned her jacket.
Beneath her business attire, she wore a tight black crop top that revealed her midriff. Faint pink meridian lines appeared on her arms, and her eyes glowed with a pale pink halo.
"They want Wei Tianyang’s powers, and they want them as soon as possible," Li Ruyun said in a low voice.
"You know what he’s capable of. We can’t be too hasty, we can’t afford to aggravate him lightly. What do you expect me to do? Lock him up by force and then dissect his spine to extract his marrow?" Zhao Ling said angrily.
"I don’t care how you do it, you’ve already wasted three years," Li Ruyun said.
"What if it takes another three years? He has enough trust in me; that he’s willing to work for Yin Country, that’s enough," Zhao Ling retorted.
"Don’t tell me you’ve developed feelings for him? When we used to collect various superpowers, you did not have the patience you do today! The Lingxian Sect doesn’t care whether he works for Yin Country or not. We want his superpower!" Li Ruyun said sternly.
"This is Dayin territory! It’s not your turn, a wandering and homeless heretical sect, to call the shots!!" Zhao Ling shouted furiously, her eyes bursting with emerald glints.
Li Ruyun sneered, "When you begged us for help to become Emperor, you weren’t nearly as tough as you are now. You’ve gotten quite arrogant with time in that seat, not showing respect to your seniors. Fine, as your elder sister... today I’ll teach you a lesson!"
Zhao Ling saw that Li Ruyun’s arms were covered in a layer of pink flames. Gritting her teeth, she stepped forward; her legs wrapped in a green haze. In a single breath, she lunged toward Li Ruyun, her muscular thigh powering her knee toward the softest part of Li Ruyun’s abdomen.
However, Li Ruyun’s form flickered like a mirage, an illusion in the air, eluding touch with ease. Zhao Ling’s preemptive strike missed, and her extended leg hit the ground with a loud snap, shattering the floor beneath.
The next second, Zhao Ling felt a wave of heat coming at her; she brought her arms together, shielding her face, her abdominal muscles tensed as her back leg braced against the floor.
Li Ruyun’s left hook, carrying a gust of wind, struck Zhao Ling’s forearm; bone met bone with a crackling sound. Zhao Ling clenched her teeth; had it not been for the dragon energy protecting her body, that punch could have fractured her arm.
Next came Li Ruyun’s right hook aimed precisely at Zhao Ling’s upper abdomen. The skin on her whole stomach trembled under the heavy blow, rippling upon impact, forming waves of flesh, and the abdominal muscles caved in slightly, splattering sweat.
A sour taste rose in her mouth, a warm flow pushing up her throat. Those two punches had taken only half a breath, but the pain in her organs and forearm seemed to stretch out for half a century.
Zhao Ling’s eyes brightened; she angled her body to the side, slicing into Li Ruyun’s right, her back leg moving forward, dropping her defensive right hand, and firing off three jab punches.
Li Ruyun feinted and dodged, only to see Zhao Ling suddenly rise, her left knee flying toward her face.
Li Ruyun barely blocked the knee with her hands; at that moment, Zhao Ling let out a vicious grin and chopped down on her head with a hand blade.
The collision of flesh was audible; Li Ruyun tilted her head, allowing the heavy hand blade to land on her left collarbone, leaving a mark on her fair skin.
With the strike delivered, Zhao Ling was wide open, and Li Ruyun snarled as she freed her right hand, forefinger and middle finger together, coiling with power, lunging toward Zhao Ling’s upper abdomen.
Her fingers drilled into the flesh of her stomach, and in an instant, Li Ruyun bent her fingers, flicking Zhao Ling’s stomach viciously through the skin.
Zhao Ling frowned, squinting her eyes, her saliva-coated tongue slipping through her lips with a groan, and she quickly retreated several meters.
The two women stretched their limbs and reset their stances, ready to engage once more.
This brief exchange, lasting barely more than 2 seconds, served as their warm-up. Pink flames intertwined with green streams in the room, and as their eyes met again, they braced for the next collision of flesh.
