Chapter 192 - 190: Fishing for a Horse in the Sea
Chapter 192: Chapter 190: Fishing for a Horse in the Sea
"Burns? Why?" Wei Tianyang didn’t understand.
"2 seconds for 100 meters; that’s not a human speed. After the Medicine Person stopped, we found his body temperature extremely high, and parts of his flesh had self-combusted. Through dissection, we discovered that the Black Medicine in his spinal cord, when activating his abilities, injected an excessive amount of unknown power into his muscles, causing his level of activity within those 2 seconds to far exceed human limits," Spencer said.
"What’s the principle behind this? I’ve seen some Superpower Special Forces, and their abilities are even more outrageous, yet I’ve never seen their bodies unable to cope," Wei Tianyang said.
"Heavenly Falling Objects aren’t gifts, Wei; they’re burdens. Not every ability is safe and useful. Besides, the human body has a high air resistance. The faster you run, the stronger the wind you must battle against, which also acts as a form of protection."
"The wind’s impact will slow down your speed, reducing the friction between your flesh and the air, but Black Medicine pushed the human body beyond its limits in a short time, causing not only the muscles to self-ignite but also the skin to suffer burns from friction... In my view, that horse’s ability is utterly pointless," Spencer said.
Wei Tianyang nodded, setting down his wine glass. He had previously thought about consuming that horse’s power, but now, hearing Spencer’s explanation, he hesitated.
"You just said, after that horse was dragged by Rada Gan to Azaha... it ran into the sea by itself?" Spencer seemed more concerned about this.
"He probably didn’t know the results of the research on that horse, so he planned to send you and the horse to Azaha to establish their own Superpower Special Forces. I also saw a woman nearly 3 meters tall next to him; she’s kind of a semi-finished product, her superpower just seems to make herself grow larger," Wei Tianyang said.
"No, that Black Medicine that makes people grow isn’t a semi-finished product, instead being a completed project judged as failing to meet the triangle standard," Spencer shook his head.
"I always thought that Black Medicine that didn’t reach the triangle level was semi-finished," Wei Tianyang said.
"Standards are set by humans; in my view, any Black Medicine that allows Medicine People to survive is successful. I consider both Rada Gan and that woman successful products, though their abilities don’t hold much significance," Spencer said.
Wei Tianyang nodded. With only increased size, not speed, she could only serve as an advanced scout.
"Rada Gan hid that horse in Seychelles Waters, disguising the containment as an offshore drilling platform. However... the horse plunged into the sea there," Wei Tianyang said.
After a moment of contemplation, Spencer cautiously asked, "Could it be due to a structural fault at the containment site that caused the contained object to slip into the sea? Offshore platforms, constantly soaked in highly corrosive seawater, require frequent maintenance."
"Not sure, it’s possible. But if that thing is alive..." Wei Tianyang trailed off.
Spencer looked at Wei Tianyang, fell silent for a while, then said, "You’ve piqued my curiosity, Wei."
Wei Tianyang smiled, leaned back on the couch, and remained silent.
"I need to think this over... Seychelles Waters are vast; if we’re going to look for that horse, we’ll need salvage ships, unmanned submarines, and a supporting team," Spencer said, stroking his beard.
"You need to make a decision quickly. If that horse is really alive, it might be roaming the ocean floor right now, following the currents to other oceans; finding it again would be difficult," Wei Tianyang said.
"I’ll give you an answer by tomorrow morning at the latest. If we really do launch this search project, your participation is essential," Spencer said.
"I’ll certainly join." Wei Tianyang said.
This was exactly what Wei Tianyang wanted. Spencer’s resources could do a lot for him, and his curiosity about the Heavenly Falling Objects and desire to explore life sciences would surely persuade Spencer to invest a hefty sum of money in related actions.
The horse’s abilities might be somewhat dangerous... but the agitation within Wei Tianyang’s heart still urged him to give it a try.
"I’ll wait for your call. If you decide, I’ll send you the coordinates," Wei Tianyang said.
Their conversation ended there. Wei Tianyang had gained a superficial understanding of Rada Gan’s background. He was no different in essence from Yaha. Although Wei Tianyang couldn’t say he had a good impression of him, he didn’t dislike him either and looked forward to seeing what actions Rada Gan would take after possibly ending the war with his own methods.
And the horse was taken care of. Although Spencer had not yet made a final decision, Wei Tianyang was certain the old man couldn’t resist; he would definitely use his resources to find that horse. Spencer had already missed the world’s first humanoid Heavenly Falling Object, how could he miss the chance with the world’s first resurrected Heavenly Falling Object?
Before saying goodbye, Spencer suddenly handed him a bright silver sensor device.
"What is this?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"I see you walked over today, and I know you can teleport, but forgive my frankness, Sethiyan is a nation on wheels, and a car is also a symbol of one’s identity and status. Even if you want to keep a low profile, you need some disguise fitting your status—a nice car, appropriate clothing is essential," Spencer said.
Wei Tianyang smiled, understanding his meaning.
Now being treated as a distinguished guest by the heads of four countries and the United Council, even Steijie would occasionally visit. Without some display of wealth, it would indeed raise suspicions.
Dressing as a wealthy young man, driving a luxurious car and entering night clubs, fit the speculations and imaginations of the onlookers.
"The car is in the underground second-floor parking garage. I took the liberty of choosing a car that suits your style. Take a look, and if you don’t like the color, tomorrow I’ll have the manufacturer deliver a different one to your mansion," Spencer said.
"I’m not picky," Wei Tianyang laughed.
Leaving Spencer’s luxurious office, he took the VIP elevator to the underground parking garage, pulled out the device and pressed it. In the corner, a car shaped like a silver shark blinked its lights and emitted a sharp honking sound.
"The Craft Deep Diver at your service, owner, Wei Tianyang. Battery at 100%. Today’s weather, 21°C, light breeze, brief rainfall expected in three hours, navigation has been turned on, automatic cruising function has been activated."
The silver shark car emitted a pleasant AI female voice.
Wei Tianyang had just reached the door when the car door slowly raised, resembling a shark fin, with several air intakes on the side, making it look rather fierce.
"Damn...are all cars like this now?" Wei Tianyang muttered as he sat in the cabin. The steering wheel was square, with a 10-inch screen in the center displaying the odometer and battery level.
The car door slowly closed and the interior darkened. Then, the windscreen displayed AR-enhanced navigation route markers, with green indicators flowing on the road, and slightly yellow warning lights at the corners of the walls. The rearview mirror appeared in the middle of the windshield as a narrow small window.
"Automatic cruising function activated, driving automatically according to the planned route, Mr. Wei Tianyang, please choose manual or automatic driving," the AI female voice said.
Wei Tianyang chose manual, and the car slowly started up. The motor sound was soft, but the speakers still played a synthetic engine noise.
Wealthy people really know how to have fun.
