Chapter 877: Chapter 877 Pork Nose with a Leek Inserted
"Hahaha, a bet’s a bet," the old man was in high spirits.
All was well as long as he could take down his nemesis.
"Then you have to promise in front of my dad that you won’t take revenge on little ol’ me for losing to a junior. After all, it’s quite embarrassing to lose to a younger generation. If you think about it later and get upset, you might send a few women like that to tarnish my innocence."
Yu Jingting gestured the shape of a gourd with his hand.
"You really are thick-skinned, tch." Fourth Master scorned. With two kids of his own, what innocence was he talking about?
"What do you know? I’m the epitome of robust masculinity, brimming with yang energy, meant for my wife alone. Any other woman coming near me is a desecration of my purity, right, wife?"
"Ah, right, right, you’re absolutely correct," Suizi was never pretentious about things like the cucumber defense battle.
"I always fulfill my promises," the old master gently sipped his tea.
"I’d advise you to think it over. This kid isn’t a piece of cake. It’s still not too late to back out. I can beat him up for you and it’ll be over. If you make a promise you can’t keep, he’ll turn your household upside down," said Fourth Master, his words tinged with a shade of green tea.
Suizi glanced gratefully at her father-in-law. Nicely done!
The old master cared about face; how could he stand being provoked by Fourth Master like this?
Sure enough, the old master gave Fourth Master a disdainful look.
"Look at your stinginess! Just tell me, what have you taken a fancy to? I’ll bring it with me next time I come."
Fourth Master let out a cold laugh. Heh, the old master had yet to suffer the losses inflicted by those two brats and hadn’t experienced their ruthless thrashing!
Yu Jingting’s smile grew even brighter.
"There’s no need for Grandpa to bring it for me. I’ll have to make a trip over there in the future. I can bring it back myself."
"Alright, that settles it."
"You’re my grandpa, so let’s not bother with signatures and seals. A gentleman’s agreement, a clap to confirm, here..." Yu Jingting seized the old master’s hand before he could react and quickly slapped it.
Suizi immediately hollered from the side, "The deal is sealed~"
The old master was completely bewildered and looked to Fourth Master, wondering what game the kids were playing.
Fourth Master shrugged. What game? The Sell-the-Old-Man game, obviously.
The two brats were in cahoots, duping not just strangers but also pulling no punches with their own family members.
And the old master had been thoroughly fooled by the pair, still blissfully unaware.
Watching the old master’s beaming face, Fourth Master silently lit a candle for him in his heart. It remained to be seen if the old man would be able to smile about this in the future.
As it turned out, he not only couldn’t smile, but he almost blasted Yu Jingting, the shameless wretch, with a gun.
If it weren’t for Jinnan holding him back, the old master really would have gone 1v1 with Yu Jingting in a real fight.
But that’s a story for another time.
For now, consensus had been reached on all sides, and the atmosphere was harmonious.
After playing around in the capital for a few days, the old master returned home completely satisfied.
Before leaving, Suizi solemnly gave him a rectangular small box, claiming it was for warding off evil and that it would ensure his safety in the coming years if he kept it with him at all times.
After the fortune-telling incident, the old master took every word of Suizi, the faux-deity, as gospel truth.
Suizi instructed him to open the box after twenty-four hours, and he actually waited the full twenty-four hours.
Twenty-four hours later, still rocking on the train, the old man made a point of washing his hands before devoutly opening the box that was said to bring safety and peace.
Inside was a folding fan with bamboo ribs, which appeared quite ordinary at first glance. The old man even noticed that the fan’s pendant was plastic and very cheap!
He opened it with confusion and found calligraphy on it, Scribblings by Suizi: pure-minded and desiring little.
Under these four huge characters, there was a line of tiny print, impossible to see with the naked eye.
The old man, who dealt in jade business, always carried a magnifying glass with him. He took it out and almost laughed his nose off.
The calligraphy was smaller than grains of rice, requiring a magnifying glass to see clearly: promiscuity is unsanitary.
Yu Jingting and his wife, he’s openly bad, she’s slyly harmful. How on earth did these two end up together...? The old man looked at the fan with its special message and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
In the Yu Family’s study room, Suizi was dressed in a white silk retro long-sleeved dress, holding a magnifying glass in one hand and a writing brush in the other, holding her breath and writing with utmost care.
Yu Jingting squatted beside her, munching on an autumn pear, and the two children imitated his posture, squatting one on each side of him.
"Daddy, why does Mommy need to use a magnifying glass to write?" Bobo asked.
"Why does Mommy wear white clothes to write with black ink? Grandma will scold her," Luoluo referred to ink as black water.
Last time she saw Suizi having fun with tie-dye and thought it was interesting. Taking advantage of the adults’ naptime, she sneaked into the study, picked one of Suizi’s silk scarves, and tied it into a bunch with rubber bands. Then she poured an entire bottle of ink into a basin and threw in the bundled scarf.
A toddler’s handcrafted tie-dyed scarf was thus created.
One had to admire Luoluo’s memory and hands-on skills. She only watched Suizi do it once, remembered all the steps, and nearly replicated it perfectly.
Wang Cuihua would never forget the day she woke up from her nap. Her precious granddaughter, covered in ink spots, stood in front of her bed, smiling with pride, holding up her ink-stained little hands with an unidentifiable black object in them.
And behind the little girl, the beige floor tiles were decorated with blossoming little black flowers...
After Luoluo’s divine intervention, the value of Suizi’s silk scarf plummeted.
From a sought-after luxury item that could cost several months’ salary for the average person, it turned into a piece of rubbish that even dogs on the street would disdain.
It took Wang Cuihua an entire afternoon to clean the floor. Had Yu Tiegen dared to create such a mess in his childhood, he would have been beaten fiercely with the sole of a shoe.
But facing her beloved granddaughter, she couldn’t bring herself to lay a finger on her. Instead, she dragged Yu Jingting, who was blissfully napping on the rocking chair in the Courtyard, to join in her roaring.
After the scarf was dried, the price having nosedived, Suizi treasured it away.
She planned to wait until her Maiden grew up and got married, offering the scarf full of love as a precious part of her dowry.
After this incident, Luoluo developed a psychological shadow regarding ink.
"Grandma taught us that we shouldn’t wear white clothes while engaging in dirty activities."
"The kind of writing your mother does was used by ancient scholars to cheat and jot down notes. Wearing white, well, she’s just a pig pretending to be an elephant by sticking a leek on its nose," Jingting explained.
As Suizi held her writing brush, her hand jerked. The micro calligraphy she had been working on was ruined halfway through.
"Yu Jingting! Get out! Don’t disturb me while I’m practicing micro calligraphy!"
Recently, Suizi had been learning from her father a type of calligraphy that was a real test of skill, the kind she used to upset the old man with its rice-sized letters.
This was micro calligraphy, which required using a magnifying glass for writing. Not a tremor could be allowed in the hand, and it demanded complete concentration, perfectly suited for people like Suizi and Fan Huang, whose work involved heavy brainpower, to sharpen their patience.
Wanting to increase her success rate, Suizi purposely wore white clothes, as even a moment’s inattention could stain them.
Everything was set, but who could have expected Tiegen to be the joker in the pack? His interruptions meant that all of Suizi’s efforts went down the drain.
