I am chasing a rough man in the 80s -
Chapter 815: Don’t Mind a Fool
Chapter 815: Chapter 815: Don’t Mind a Fool
Suizi hesitated for a moment, although she really disliked Shen Jun, the guy didn’t deserve to die.
If he was also the one who had been stealing the food before, then he very likely had ingested the fattening pig feed.
Morally and logically, she should warn him and then take him to the hospital for a check-up.
"Good-for-nothing, your brain is like a pig’s. I’ve taken so much food from you, and you don’t even think to put a lock on the door, serves you right for losing stuff."
Endless cursing came from outside, causing the words Suizi was about to say to be swallowed back down.
Meeting Yu Jingting’s inquiring gaze, Suizi, without a second thought, wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his.
Yu Jingting’s eyes instantly turned round. Was such good fortune happening to him?
Well, he certainly wasn’t about to hold back.
The two engrossed in activity had no time to care about the thief outside. Suizi’s dress zipper was being pulled down, making a slight sound.
"What’s that noise?!" Shen Jun was busy stuffing the food into the bag he had brought when the music outside stopped, ready to switch to the next song.
"The good-for-nothing’s office isn’t infested with mice, right? Oh right, the mice were my doing, hehe, serves you right for your bad luck."
Concerned about attracting attention, Shen Jun packed up his things and headed out.
"Who’s there!" Yang Er’s bellowing voice echoed through the hallway. Yu Jingting, just getting into the mood, cursed quietly.
Damn, what a way to ruin the moment.
"Pfft." Suizi was amused by his expression, and the disgruntled man bit her beautiful shoulder, mumbling indistinctly, "Wait till I get back and take care of you!"
"Mmmhmm, I’m so scared." Suizi pushed him away half-heartedly.
"Jingting, are you there?" Yang Er knocked on the door, and Yu Jingting, holding his T-shirt, went to open it.
"Call everyone back, no need to chase after him."
Noticing the clear bite mark on Yu Jingting’s pectoral muscle, he swallowed hard.
The Boss was really going at it...
"Jingting, what was that guy up to anyway?"
"Just a nitwit, no need for concern. Call the brothers back, stop chasing him. If he comes by again, just pretend you didn’t see."
"Oh... that, I just chilled a watermelon, should I bring it to my sister-in-law?" Yang Er cunningly added a suggestion, "I’ll leave it at the door without coming in, or maybe I’ll bring earplugs?"
"Get lost!" Yu Jingting kicked him in the butt, and Yang Er uttered a ’hey’ before preparing to run off.
"Come back! Cut the watermelon and bring it here, just leave it at the door, no need to come in."
Yang Er almost burst out laughing. Inside the room, Suizi was burying her head in her hands, too embarrassed to face anyone. If Yang Er knew, it basically meant everyone at the venue would know...
By the time they got back, it was almost eleven o’clock.
When Chen Lijun heard Yu Jingting’s car, she climbed out of bed and peeked through a corner of the curtain.
Because these two kids had taken the old lady out and hadn’t sent any messages, she’d been waiting up all night.
"Where did they go to frolic?" Chen Lijun saw her son-in-law carry her daughter out of the car; Suizi seemed to be asleep.
"Young people, it’s normal," Fan Huang was not surprised at all, he had guessed as much.
"Damn it, I planned so carefully, and now I can’t see Suizi’s expression..."
Chen Lijun, in retaliation for her daughter replacing real crab with crab-flavored crackers, had carefully cleaned a corn cob and wrapped the leftover cob in its leaves, wanting to see Suizi’s disappointed face.
But when her maiden returned home, she was asleep, and being carried princess-style into the house by her son-in-law. Chen Lijun had waited all night for nothing.
"If you’re worried about your daughter, just say so. Why beat around the bush—you tired of it?"
After being glared at by his wife, Fan Huang shook his head with a smile. Under the night sky, Yu Jingting cradled Suizi with one arm as he opened the door, their shadows merging in the moonlight.
Fan Huang was so captivated by the young couple’s daily life that it seemed as though he too had returned to his early twenties, a scene he had once read about in a handwritten copy passed among friends.
Without thinking, he blurted out, "Someday, shall I carry you like that to watch the moon?"
"!!!" Chen Lijun turned to look at him in astonishment, her first reaction was to place her hand on his forehead. Was this old man delirious from a fever?
"Cough, why are you looking at me like that?" Fan Huang coughed, realizing what he had just said.
"Not to mention how busy you are with work, where would you find the time to watch the moon, but..." she paused, "...can you even lift me?"
Fan Huang went stiff for a moment before slowly straightening his back.
"Hey! Why are you looking at me like that? You’re not seriously thinking of trying, are you? No way! There’s still a child in my belly!"
The image of Comrade Fan Huang as a stable and refined man, deeply rooted in Comrade Xiaochen’s heart for half a lifetime, crumbled to pieces tonight.
Suizi had a wonderful sleep and woke up to the smell of medicinal herbs permeating the house.
"Mom, what are you simmering? Who’s caught a cold?" Suizi followed the scent into the kitchen.
Wang Cuihua was standing by the stove, fanning herself; she was sweating profusely in the sweltering heat.
"Didn’t you get heatstroke? I thought I’d boil some herbal tea to help clear the heat," she said.
"When did I—" Suizi stopped abruptly.
Her gaze searched for Yu Jingting, who was undoubtedly the instigator!
The couple had run off to the office to play yesterday, and after playing too hard, Suizi slept until noon. Concerned for her daughter-in-law, Wang Cuihua queried, and Yu Jingting, too embarrassed to admit that he had tired her out, casually mentioned Suizi had heatstroke-induced drowsiness.
Without hesitation, Wang Cuihua took out all the medicinal herbs she had carried back from the border and set up a small pot to start simmering.
Watching a pot of water reduced to a bowl, Suizi’s head throbbed in pain. Without even tasting it, the smell alone wasn’t promising anything tasty.
"Jingting, come here a moment," Suizi called out with a forced smile.
Yu Jingting, who was playing with the kids in the sand, stiffened and slowly got to his feet.
"Wife, I’m quite busy with the kids here," he said.
Her smile deepening, Suizi replied, "Then you keep busy. You’d better stay busy until nightfall, too busy to come back inside."
A clear threat! Yu Jingting internally complained about being banned from the house but didn’t dare to counter, standing up awkwardly with a forced laugh.
"Sparing a little time for my beautiful wife is doable," he said.
Bobo poured a bucket of water onto the sand and mixed it evenly before solemnly stating, "No matter how good the sand is, it can’t shape the image of my dad being scared of my mom."
Suizi was speechless. Had they inadvertently raised a philosopher?
"What are we going to do about that concoction Mom’s brewing?" Suizi pulled him aside to a secluded spot and asked in a hushed tone.
"Just drink it. It’s not medicine, it’s just herbal tea—cooling and refreshing, it won’t harm you," he said.
Aside from it being tough to swallow, it had no other flaws.
"I don’t want to drink it!" Suizi patted his chest muscles forcefully with her small hand. "You stirred up this mess; you deal with it! If not, then don’t even think about climbing into bed tonight, and never drag me to those ridiculous places again!"
"Alright, I’ll drink it. Is that okay? I’ll have the kids distract Mom later, and I’ll drink it," he conceded.
"That’s more like it. You look like you’ve got too much heat in you anyway; this will help cool you down," Suizi said, satisfied.
No sooner had Wang Cuihua poured her special herbal tea out of the pot than Chen He arrived with Chen Tong.
